I'm actually very excited about unmasked Mileena. We've been dreaming for an alternate that allowed us to play her without the mask and we've finally gotten that (kind of) thanks to cloth/body damage.

I love seeing her wide crazy mouth unveiled/unmasked.

Other characters I'm looking forward to seeing without a mask:

1) Kitana
2) Sub-Zero (MK3 look, please)
3) Jade

Woah, i never saw concept art for Ermac's face.

There is Cyrax too. For Smoke, I'd imagine his (possible yet unlikely) unmasked costume to look 1/3 Kung Lao alternate, 1/3 ninja and 1/3 samurai.

Jade & Kitana should have unmasked alternate costumes.
I hope Sub-Zero's 1st costume is elder, 2nd is unmasked younger.
Ermac doesn't need to unmask.
Battle damage is enough to show whats underneath for Mileena, Reptile, Sektor, Cyrax & Kahn.

If Kabal has a costume showing him before his "Accident", then cool, if not it would be sweet if his mask almost comes completely off with battle damage and as soon as it he starts making Darth Vader dieing noises :)

From Boon's tweet it seems Smoke stays human this time, so an unmasked would be cool i suppose.

Noob should have two masked costumes, but the battle damage reveals the ghostly/dead skin underneath a la MK4

How would Noob's face look if he was unmasked? Maybe they'll look like Brock and Lauren from Unreal Championship 2.

Back in MK4, he had an alt where he looked like some sort of demonic grey alien...probably a result of the X-Files fever going on at the time. But if that was ever his canon unmasked appearance, it's long been forgotten.

Is this game going to have both Sub Zero's? Because it should. The older Sub-Zero is the one that was in MK1 and 2 right? MK 3 is the the younger brother one? Then Noob Saibot showed up in MK trilogy? And Noob is the older Sub-Zero right? Im just making sure I got my facts straight. Anyway, I know there was 2 Subs in the first 3 games, so I think they should both somehow be in this game, maybe only one is playable, and the other is in Story mode or something, or even if they are both playable, they should both be in. As for the unmasked part, I think the only characters that it fits to be unmasked would be Reptile, Hes already appearing like a lizard humanoid creature, instead of the human reptile. I think he should be human in this game, he didnt become reptile like until MK4, and this game is emphasizing MK1-UMK3, but since hes already reptilian, then he might as well have an unmasked alt, Kitana and Jade could have unmasked alts, I wouldnt mind if both of their costumes were masked, I always liked the mysteriousness about their masks, but they already have unmasked looks. If they have them unmasked I hope they make them look really hot/beautiful. Mileena should always have a mask on I think. Unless they make her character come to the point where she is able to go unmasked, but Im not sure if I would like that either.

Dear God,Jade & Kitana both look uber gorgeous! It would be a sin and crime to not have their alts show their faces! Now as far as the guys I mean I don't really want to just see a skull on Scorpion so no...... and for Subby YES and I want the scar!

-The older sub was in MK Mythologies and MK1. He died there and became Noob Saibot for all subsequent appearances (though that wasn't revealed until MKD).

-From MK2 on, all appearances are by the younger brother.

-The Sub-Zero shown at the website is the younger brother. It'll be him that we play as through the majority of the game, but it is possible that they will just use the same sprite to show MK1 Sub for the brief time he's alive.

I honestly don't want any of them to be unmasked. They're fighters not models.

I'd rather see the mask torn or knocked off during the fight. It wouldn't make much sense for them to show there face since they're ninjas. Soul Caliber and Street Fighter take damage like that. MK should follow.
The female characters are more likely to have an unmasked outfit.

Wouldn't mind having unmasked Subzero to be honest. A revamp of his mk3 costume with hair slicked back and the eye scar showing.

What if they make an alternate costume for Scorpion in which he looks like when he wasn't killed yet, IOW with his actual face?

I would only want to see the characters be unmasked if it fits their character. Most of the masked characters have a reason to be masked, because they are ninjas and assassins or have some other reason for covering up their faces.

Give them a reason to become unmasked that fits their character, then I will be acceptive of them taking it off. And remember what timeline we are in. Kitana and Jade don't take off their masks until after they left Shao Kahn's rule, Cyrax didn't get his soul back until MK Gold, etc...

only characters i'd want unmasked alts for are

subzero (mk3 costume w/ scar)
scorpion (ghost rider head)

-subzero mk3 revamped

-scorpion mk2 skull meaning no fire

-ermac no need to unmask

There is, it's just that your reason for them not being unmasked it kinda... dumb.

The only characters I prefer seeing unmasked is obviously Sub-Zero
Another one I want to see is Kitana and Jade
It wouldn't hurt seeing an unmasked Reptile... with that mask please.

The ones I don't are Scorpion - Mainly because his skull on fire looked horribly ridiculous in Deadly Alliance. He's not Ghost Rider, despite that was where the idea came from, it was just a skull all throughout MK-4.

Mileena - I'd rather have her throw off her mask to reveal her ugly self rather than just throw it out there in everyone's face.

The one that I'm still indifferent of is Ermac. As long as he doesn't look like what he did in the cartoon, you can see a picture of him at the Kombat Pavilion in the unmasked section... Defenders of the Realm.

The only ones that need to have an unmasked costume in my opinion are Sub-Zero, Kitana and Jade. Maybe Rain if he was in this game. Have never been a fan of the unmasked Scorpion costumes.

Unmask the ninjas and make every other character wear a mask.
