Very nice job. It's fun seeing the progression and some the slight similarities between some fighters' classic costumes and their modern interpretations.

WOAH!!! Hold on a sec...

Where did you ever get/find some of those little renders of the MK9 Characters like Sindel, Sonya, Sheeva and Kitana?

I've never seen them released in those poses and in good quality.

Can you please provide some links where we could view them in all their glory?

As for your thread: Excellent job! I appreciate what you've done and it is a really fun chart to look at. Thanks for the cut-out pics too.

Your chart is making me think that I'd like to see:

MK1: Johnny, Kano, Shang Tsung and Sonya.
MK2: ....
MK3 Shang Tsung, Kano, Sonya and Unmasked Sub-Zero.

I didn't forget it, I just didn't add it because there was no room for it and I also felt like that subzero was a different character altogether. Yes I know that he is the same subzero as the MK2 one. And honestly if I would have added it what would I have compared it too.

I don't understand why anyone would complain about stryker shiva etc getting alts. afterall majority of the classic costumes coming out now have been free. Not sure if that's because they're for the ninjas or not but who's to say the ones that are very similar won't be free as well? Some people like the backwards hat stryker and imo NRS has already provided more than enough content in the game alone and are on a mission with the dlc content.

One could hope MK9 will set the new standard for fighting games, should we really expect any less now? About the chart, looks awesome! :) maybe there should be a list of all the costumes so far I personally like keeping track.

Thanks for the costume chart and the cutouts. Very cool.

Seeing the lineup of Kitana's costumes, and the cutout really hammers home to me how much her mk2 costume is the definitive look for me.

It's so simple. I wouldn't have been adverse to a few details on it, maybe some subtle embroidery, but the simplicity of the design is truly iconic. It reminds me of Pyslocke from Marvel Comics or Wonder Woman.

The umk3 costume is also nice, but I prefer that one for Jade and sometimes Mileena.

Also after looking at the costume chart, I want a mk3 Sonya now more than ever. I adore her alt in this game, but I want a Klassic look for her. I don't like how her primary in this game is black. Sonya's primary color has always been green to me.

After viewing that chart, i'd actually like to see MK1 Liu Kang as a classic costume; free of course :P

The Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee look was cool!

Well that's rather my point.

Classic Sub-Zero was non-canon and allegedly a version of Bi-Han. The primary Sub-Zero in MK9 is Kuai Liang.

So despite the fact that they look quite different, you should be comparing his unmasked MK3 costume to either his MK9 primary or Cyber-Sub-Zero since both of those are Kuai Liang.

I made this Costume chart to show the differences between the MK9 Outfits and there Klassic ones. Because after reading all these posts about why the ninja are getting all the attenuation (Which I believe is because they are cost efficient and easy to duplicate) I thought it might be a good idea to look at all the outfits together. I’m not trying to start an argument but people that are saying there is no point in giving the Ninja’s more outfits because they all look the same, I would have to disagree with yes I understand they already have 1 or 2 in some cases but looking at them all together sure there are simulates but there is also differences and sometimes more than other fighters. But don’t get me wrong I would love for all the characters to get the Klassic treatment and I’m sure they will.

I also did a cutout of the new Kitana and Jade Render for there MK2 Outfits and thought I would share them. Enjoy

I've been thinking of a way to add unmasked subzero for awhile and I understand what you're saying but the reason for the chart was to compare old outfits with the new ones and since there isn't a unmasked subzero I think it would look weird and also be confusing if I compared him to cyber subzero. But I could be wrong what do you guys think I'm in the process right now of adding all there alts from MK9 I will add a category for cyber subzero comparing it to unmasked subzero if you guys really want it.

No, they weren't even a 10% improvement. If anything they were a 57.549% reduction in aesthetics.

Way too much fuckin' spandex.

(I know you were trying to say 10,000% but you ended up being much closer to the truth in your typo).

Actually, when counting in thousands, a dot is what is used. A comma indicates numbers that are less worth than 1. So what you actually said with 10,000% is 10% (ten percent), while what I wrote with 10.000% is the same as 10000% (ten-thousand percent).

And again, I disagree with you. ^^

In many European countries. Germany for instance. a period (or decimal) is used instead of a comma when counting above 1.000,

I can't remember what they do for the tenths place and so on though,

Yeah... it's the opposite in America.

Like 1,000,000

And 10.000% is 10%

PS. That Reptile Alt in that chart in the first post is not Reptile's Alt. It looks like an unused costume from the concept art.

I fixed it thanks for pointing that out it was really hard to find reptiles alt and even when I did it was a really low res. I almost had to scan the art book that came with the Collections edition lol. I thought the one I had originally looked the same as the one above it but it was the art released with all the other costumes so I just figured It had it be it. Thanks again

Kitana's costumes in MK2011 are awesome. Her best costumes ever. Such an improvement from her past costumes which have never struck me as amazing. The 2011 costumes, while they could have been better, did strike me as amazing though, especially when compared to the past costumes Kitana has gotten. The only one close to being as good as her 2011 looks was her MKSM costume, but that looked terrible in game, it only looked good in the render.

If Kitana had actually been in MKD this is probably close to what she would have gotten in that game, so I dont understand all the hate on Kitana's costumes in 2011. To me they fit her perfectly, theyre regal and feminine and have a lot of detail, and her costumes finally show her princessness. They are also something new and fresh, but they stick with the motif that the female ninjas have had ever since MK2. Kitana has been needing a new look for a long time, remember how much better Jade, Mileena, Tanya, Sindel looked than Kitana in MK Armageddon, because they had their awesome MKD costumes. Kitana's MKDA costumes were nice, but pretty bland and lame when compared to the other female's costumes from MKD. Kitana's MKDC costume is the worst, I dont know how the fuck NRS thought that was a good idea.

Why do you have pictures of Noob, Smoke, and Rain in MK1?
They were neither in MK1 nor do they have classic costumes in MK9 for MK1.

Same logic for MK2 Ermac and Rain. Ermac only belongs in MK1.

Rain doesn't exist until MK3.............

I just added them because I wanted to see what they would look like it. And Noob and Smoke's MK1 attire is already in the game so I figured at one time or another they all will have there MK1-MK3 outfits in MK9.
But I added a separate chart with the characters remove just for you. smile
