Li Mei. I need that character back in my life. There are other characters I'd want to see back, but I'd sacrifice them all with a rusty coat hanger if it meant Li Mei being in MK10.

Thumbs up to most of them but Blaze, Mokap and Onaga. Not that i hate Onaga, i just don't care. A new boss could be cool after Shinnok.

Obsessed much? Lol
Don't worry, I feel the same way. Although I think she shouldn't use her secondary MKD costume. It didn't really work for her.

I liked her MKDA costume with the long pants and her skimpy MKD primary costume. Her headband made her look like a pirate.

Her special moves were awesome too. I love her cartwheel kick and her flying punchies.

Reptile. Seriously. He was treated like absolute trash in MK9, and I really want to see him become an actual character. Not just a punching bag.

People say he should always be the lacky, but I think that's a big load. He has as much story potential as the next character, and I have loads of different ideas of where he could go in the next game.

Being a lackey doesn't mean you have to have a bad story. I think Jade is a great example of that. In the reverse scenario, forcing a character into a role of high importance could ruin him. Kabal in Deception would be a good example of that (there was potential for Noob to do so, but they did it wrong).

The real mistake was not giving Reptile any real dialogue. I mean, they clearly demonstrate in Jax's chapter that he's capable of speaking. Other than that, his story was fine. Reptile needs more development; I don't think he needs more relevance. If everyone was a champion, a queen, or a god, you'd have a really bland story.

I should've been more specific rather than say lacky. He can serve under someone, as a bodyguard or general or what have you, but if its at the expense of his characterization then it's pointless.

I agree with you though. He doesn't need to be the hero or anything like that, but at least have some importance in the story. More than just getting beat up by several different characters just because someone needed to get into a fight.

I do like the part where he is climbing the building after Stryker and Kabal, dodging bullets and being a real threat. Frankly, I'm just sick of seeing my favorite character get beat up in every scene.

Drahmin- My favorite character since DA after I read his back story. The only problem with Drahmin is that he has so much potential to be a threat, but it never went anywhere. I mean he's an Oni who use to be a bloodthirsty warlord, but all that story and character design just went nowhere.

I mean in reality a majority of the characters between MK4 and MKD deserve a second try.

I'm really interested in Tanya's back story and what led to her betraying her homeland. I'm also curious if she's the one that taught Kitana the kiss of death, now that we know she uses sorcery. I basically can't wait for Tanya's return. She's clearly one of my favorites.

I have this fantasy that Mavado was a returning character in Deception. It would have been very fitting, considering the Black Dragon returned with Onaga. He was aligned with the Deadly Alliance, so he would have been in double trouble. It would have been cool if he encountered Sub-Zero (his new target, per his ending in D:A) and Kenshi and had to work with them to survive. Would have a been a great story development for him. I hope they do something cool with him in the future.

Li Mei. Enough said. Love her.

I'm in the vast minority, but I'd love to see Jarek appear again. I don't know why I like him, I just do.

The rest are all ok in my book, everyone deserves a chance to come back. But I'm really looking forward to seeing these particular 4 again.

I hope they stop creating multiple new characters and start working with the ones they have,

On a more serious note, I believe the Seido storyline could add an interesting element to any of the new storylines so I say Hotaru, Dairou, Darrius (even though I hate Darrius).

Great thread topic, Immortal. I definitely like the idea as well as the feedback. For me, I see a huge difference between "who deserves redemtpion" and "who would you like to see in the next/future MK game(s)."

There are a bunch of characters post MK3 that, in my opinion, don't need any redemption because they were well executed to begin with and SHOULD be in the next MK or future MK games.

Those characters are:

- Fujin
-Tanya
- Sareena

All three characters have cool concepts, backgrounds, stories that could easily mesh with other characters, plus I just think that they're executed well overall, with even more potential for improvement.

So here are the characters that I think started off well, but either have something missing or simply need another chance because something in their core design intrigues me, but I still want to see more:

- Kai: His look and moves were so-so at best in MK4, but this guy could be the Eddy Gordo of MK. The fact that he could also be a "wander the earth" warrior type combines to make a pretty unique character. Plus, part of me wants to see him be "the guy" if Liu Kang's gone.

- Shinnok: He's a fallen Elder God. He's basicallyt he Satan of MK. How is that NOT intriguing? Sure, his original execution was awful (evil bellhop with Shang Tsung morphing) but he could have some great moves, and a great story. They just need to build him up as something even more powerful than Shao Khan? Can they do it? I'd love to see them try.

- Mavado: Aww man, such a cool look, but they messed him up by giving him Kabal's hookswords and hardly any moves whatsoever. Those elsatic bands should be zipping him all over the arena, tying up his opponent, shooting him this way and that... He could be awesome, if they just figured out how to take advantage of what they've given him so far.

- Li Mei: Another character that was hurt by having another character's weapon. But the slave-girl that rises above, with both a negative and an evil ending to her credit shows me that they can do a lot more with her. Plus, she looked and played extremely well in MK:D. They just need to do more to separate her from Mileena.

-Bo Rai Cho: Such a cool look, and the fact that he's a wise teacher from Outworld gives him several unique qualities. Then they made him a punch line with the slippery vomit, the farting etc. He's an easy fix, and having a drunken master in the series could be a lot better than what it as originally.

- Drahmin: Poor guy. He has such a cool look and background, but then they gave him lame moves and just threw him on the scrap heap of characters that didn't work. He's a demon. How hard can it really be to come up with moves that are better than a ball of flies and a SF uppercut? Plus his MK:DA ending has always intrigued me. There's more to be done here, I just know it.

- Nitara: She has a big fanbase among the MK faithful, but NRS doesn't seem quite as taken by the only vampire in MK. I think that her story was average, but her look (aside from the static wings) was interesting. She gave off a sort of harem / gypsy vibe. I'd love to see that look and personality possibly expanded upon. Plus, as a vampire, she could be so much more than she was in MK:DA and MK:A.

- Kira: I refuse to give up on this character. Sure, Skarlett has her look (minus the mask), and she was given Kano and Sonya's moves (never a good idea), but some of her looks and her background tell me that there's more to her. Give her some original moves and take her away from the Black Dragon and she could be really cool.

- Kobra: I know, I'm kinda surprised to see him on this list as well. Call me crazy, but a Ken-styled character that's a bad guy somehow appeals to me. I know we'll never see him again, and I know that his moves were's all that original or exciting (his background wasn't great either), but the idea of controlling a SF style character (I know his colors and name come from the Karate Kid) that's evil still seems cool. Maybe they can fix the rest?

Good ideas. I wanna see Quan Chi into a pulp by Shinnok, when the fallen elder god knows about his real amulet stolen by the very man he trusted.

I bet Shinnok will gain visions as well as Raiden does.

But what about...

- Hsu Hao
- Frost
- Ashrah
- Dairou
- Darrius
- Havik
- Hotaru
- Shujinko (forget Shujinko then. Save him for the dragon king saga)
- Moloch

Yes. Everybody.

Look at Stryker from MK3, people hated his guts but when MK9 rolled around he got a complete makeover. People finally gave him the respect he deserved.

See what happens when NRS applies themselves? And yes, Meat, Mokap, and both C/Kmeleons could be cool.

People always say certain characters have potential, but everyone has room for growth.

Reptile needs to be an evil ferocious badass - then he needs to find Khameleon. A humungous storyline right there if applied correctly.

Maybe more could be done with the Challenge Tower characters as well? (director, stunt man, zombie, Ruutuu)
