Skarlet, as my name & signature clearly show lol. Kitana & Smoke have always been my favorites but Skarlet quickly became my favorite character to use in MK9 since she debuted from DLC. I hope she has more apperances in the games & hopefully she gets a spot in MK10.

I can't choose just ONE favourite, there are too many good characters, but I can tell you my most hated: Shang Tsung. This is purely a gripe about how frustratingly fucked the controls are, nothing to do with story.

Fighting as him is tricky enough, having backward ground skull directions, and a soul morph move that gets blocked most of the time, not being able to morph into boss characters (what's up with that?). By contrast the combos are really user-friendly, which kind of makes up for the shortcomings but not enough for me to want to use him.

Fighting against him AI is almost pure hell. Especially on tag-team mode. He's harder than Kahn. (?!?) EDIT: ...and the fatality... to borrow a fatality from MKvsDC is not a crime, but it should have been one of his own, NOT transform into the Joker (with the same laugh) and copy&paste a finisher. It's very cheap. The identity theft fatality would have worked perfectly with some added gore.

raiden kang and quan chi

Mine is Bi Han. First he freezes people as a badass ninja assassin of the Lin Kuei, then he dies and is brought back to life, renamed Noob Saibot, and has an awesome clone.
Reptile and Baraka are my 2&3 favorites.

Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang to be exact).

Sheeva's my favorite of the bunch. Shame she isn't really viable for competitive purposes. Would love to see some Sheeva action on streams.

Rain, Reptile and Noob

Raiden remains my fav. Still used Scorpion almost as much though. But i didn't bought Kenshi with the little time i spent. He was awesome based on what i heard and saw.

Stryker, Ermac, Noob, Reptile.

Smoke. I don't play him as much these days since I'm a bit burned out on him, but he'll always been my favorite.

Gameplay-wise: Smoke, Nightwolf, Ermac, and Kitana.

For me, they have the best gameplay and I can easily mix and match moves with them. They're also pretty freakin' speedy, which increases my chances of landing full combos.


Story-wise: Quan Chi, Nightwolf and Sindel.

Quan Chi is my favorite character, so there's not much of a surprise there. Nightwolf was very well portrayed in this game, imo. He seemed like a true hero. Sindel was totally badass in this game's story (and her gameplay ain't bad either), even though she wasn't in the story that long. My only gripe is that she died before she was able to turn good again.

Well, that's that.

Kung Lao of course. His gameplay, appearance, and fatalities were phenomenal. He's my favorite character of anything but he was especially great in MK9.

Johnny Cage as well. Johnny was hilarious in the story mode and had some really fun combos. Became one of my favorites from the series after this game.

Scorpion too. Scorp's gameplay was what really made him enjoyable to me.

Least favorite character:

Quan Chi. I'd love to see him die in the next game by Scorpion's hand. But since death is meaningless in MK anyway, he'll still find ways to troll.

Favorite character for gameplay: Kratos / Liu Kang.
Kratos' gameplay is fascinating and undiscovered.
Liu Kang is the Jack of all Trades (except on wakeup).

Favorite character for biography and story: Noob Saibot.
Like hell, the Original Sub-Zero who defended Earthrealm from Shinnok's forces in MK Mythologies was killed by Scorpion, resurrected by Quan Chi, and is now MK's Corruption Incarnate.

The same character it's been since MK2(first one I played)
Sub-Zero. The guy just gets better and better over the years, Heck now he's even Sub-Zero Jensen

Cyrax, Kenshi, Quan Chi, Cage

1.Mileena - Been my fav since MK2 still is. Also I'm pretty good with her in this game.
2.Rain - He has grown on my so much in this game. I love his gameplay.
3.Sheeva - What I love about her is that when I play her online noone really knows what to do against her. How awesome is to kick ass with the character everyone says sucks?

Those 3 are my mains and my fav characters generally in this game.

My favorite characters to use are probably Smoke, Jax and Scorpion. I have never really liked Jax but they made him a bad ass in this game. And Smoke is just insane, he's quick, his combos are pretty easy to pull off and he doesn't feel slow and clunky like some characters (Sub-Zero). And Scorpion, he's always been my absolute favorite character plus he controls pretty well for me in this game.

Jade is a support character. Support characters only work if the character they're supporting is still in the picture. Otherwise they just kind of do nothing. (Well less then they were already doing)

In MKD Jade acted as both main and support; support to Sindel free Kit from Onaga, and with main vendetta against Tanya for helping Onaga. Would love to see Jade & Tanya's rivalry resurrected in next game.

Having a character stay a support character is boring and poor story development.

I've been using Reptile and Nightwolf often, and lately i've been trying out as many characters as I can. I've been really enjoying Jax, Smoke, Cage,Kano and Kitana. I like messing around with Scorpion and Stryker, but honestly I tend to get bored of them fast.
