@jaded again You respect my opinion yet insult me at the same time? I don't get you. Did it ever occur that 'hey, this character who had sub-zeros altered moves can have different moves and still wield ice at the same time as sub-zero?' Its called 'taking a look at different possibilities for characters that could act the same way as another!' They did that for Smoke when the designed him for Deception didn't they? He had Scorpions move set did he not? And look what happen! A fresh brand new set of moves that made him quite different than all the others. I can go on and on and on about characters who share other moves, Tanya being one of them, and go into a larger detailed length about how Frost, who was taught by Sub-Zero himself and stated in her bio that she has similar moves to him, but my cell phone limits me to not space out my paragraphs so I must say 'do your research first' before you call Frost a mere clone. Because she's really not. edit, see, I know Frost won't be in, said that at least twice now, not to mention, I don't have twitter, so updates on that I can only see on here and wouldn'thave known that.

Either way, it has now been confirmed that it won't be a female character, so it won't be either of them. But Tanya has just as much potential for a DLC character as Frost has, if not even more. But that's just my opinion.

If I could, I would hand it to you. I don't care about DP at all, and you deserve it more.
Of course its your opinion on who you feel deserves a spot to be include as dlc. But please don't make yourself sound like your opinion is completely right and superior than mine because you don't happen to like a character I like since you're giving me this strange feeling that you are. As a Rain fan, you said that they are people who talk the loudest and make hundreds of threads just to get your voices out there for Rains arrival, I am doing so for Frost. I've seen a few more users here pop out and say 'yeah I like Frost' so you can stop shunning down on me. And even though they just announced that its a male character, who didn't see that coming, I can still make a few threads every now and then still asking for this character, and possible new ice wielding characters, for future games.

What kind of moves do you expect them to give frost to make her more original to set her apart from SZ/CSZ? Or what your vision for Frost is?

My opinion is not better than yours (I don't know why you would think that), but there was a bigger chance it would be Tanya due to her having an excuse for being in the timeline, where Frost had no reason to be there or to participate the tournament. Of course NRS could make up something completely new for her storyline, if that's what they wanted.
I'm not sure why you are being this defensive though. Is it because you know it was rather hypocritical what you said, but doesn't want to admit it? I don't mean to be offensive, but I just don't think it is fair of you to praise Frost and then tear down Tanya with that "No more Edenians" phrase, when Frost is in that same situation, as she is another cryomancer.
I admit, I dislike Frost for being a Sub-Zero clone in MKDA-MKA, but should NRS revamp her moveset and make her unique, then I wouldn't mind to see her return. But as a DLC? Then NRS should come up with a REALLY good reason storywise.
As much as I may hate Hsu Hao, Mokap, Sheeva and Kobra with a passion, MK4 was the nadir of the series when it came to character designs (and the nadir of the series period). At least both characters were fun to play as in subsequent titles but seriously, they are incredibly bland looking (Reiko got better in MKA) and who wants to play as Shao Khan's undead lackey with a girl's name?
IMO the characters we should get are
Fujin
Sareena
Havik
Li Mei

First off I never was hypocritical with anything at all. I KNEW for a fact that Frost has no chance on being in this game at all. PERIOD. But for her to make an appearance in a future game? Yeah I can see that. But it still doesn't hurt to throw around that characters name every once and awhile does it? Apparently so. My intentions were never to shun Tanya down whatsoever. I just stated that 'hey there's going to be six of these guys in this game if she were to make it in!' In fact Tanya is my second favorite female in this series so why would I shun her down? My point is that if Frost were to be in this game she would obviously be different than Sub -Zero I can bet you on that. And yes she can fit in this game. Any character that's not in this game can easily have a story written. I know how she can work, in fact, I an making a comic about it right now. And to answer someone else's question about move sets, no she would not have notes that were from mythologies. Playing other games that features had wielding

All her special moves derived from Sub-Zero's. Her movelist was basically putting in the moves that was discarded from Subbie's. That's what I mean with clone.
She had a great outfit in her MKDA main, but I just want her to be more unique. She should get the same treatment as Kenshi did in this game - revamping the moveset to make it more original and creative.

Noted. But... why should I feel sympathy towards a selfish bitch who essentially ruined the place she longs back to?
There is a difference between sympathetic villains, and reading something inside a character which is fundamentally at odds with her concept. It is like admiring Shang Tsung and Quan Chi for their mercy.
I think it is less than sympathy, at least a humane side to a character who is by all means a survivalist gloating asshole. Just pondering.

That's the pont, you shouldn't feel sorry for her. I don't. I'm a huge Tanya fan but I don't have an ounce of sympathy for her. She's a tragic character in the same sense that Macbeth is (don't worry, I'm not comparing the "plot" of MK to Shakespeare - just making a point). Macbeth caused all of his own problems with his own ambition and greed, not unlike Tanya. A tragic character doesn't mean you have to sympathise with them. Only that their circumstances are tragic. Which Tanya's are. She's an opportunistic loner who'll stab anyone in the back. She made her bed but the great thing about evil characters in Mortal Kombat is that she might not have to lie in it. It says in her bio that she's lived for thousands of years because she makes the right decisions and when it comes to evil characters those are the kind I prefer. The calculating.
Tanya fills the tragic role quite well as a contrast to other Edenians such as Kitana, Sindel and Jade. To show the route they could have gone if they didn't have the strength and morality to turn on Kahn. And those kinds of characters are useful, not just to stand up on their own two legs but for the benefit of other characters.
But there I go again reading far too deeply into MK's wafer-thin plot. Adieu.

However, you made an excellent point, better than I could have. ^^
Okay, now that I can finally comment properly, I gotta say this. And I know I'm dragging these issues out, but I am not a hypocrite, Frost isn't a clone, and my main reason for having Tanya not be in this game isn't just about the whole six characters issues.
*Ahem* First off, this game only has one cyromancer, and that is Sub-Zero. There are two versions of him in this game, but they are the SAME character. I remember back in a thread about the cyborg Sub-Zero character, there was one user who couldn't quite see that and realize that there's only one Sub-Zero character in this game, he just has two forms. So technically, if Frost were to be added into this game, it would mean only two cyromancers, not three. But, no one thinks technical too much for this game, so that's out of the question. Having two of something isn't as much as having six. And granted that heritage in this game makes no difference that much, people would rather complain about who's got what powers rather than who shares the same blood.
Wanting a second character who wields ice over an Edenian shouldn't make me a hypocrite after just explaining that.
Frost isn't a clone if you're just talking about move wise because that's not fair. I can easily turn around and say that Jade was a clone in MK2, Smoke's a clone, Tanya's a clone, Kenshi's a clone (I know...) this guy's a clone, that guy's a clone. Frost really only has one shared move with Sub-Zero that she took from him.
The Ice Puddle. And he hasn't had that move since MK2.
Her slide move consists of her tripping her opponent using her entire body rather than her foot like Sub-Zero does.
Her ground freeze covers the entire arena floor unlike Sub-Zero's. He can do that now, only if you enhance his ground freeze move.
And the teleport move is like Scorpion's only with an icy effect.
Her bio in Deadly Alliance specifically claims that she has similar moves towards Sub-Zero, therefore it's most likely that she's gonna have moves that are nearly identical to what he has.
And since my phone clearly did not allow me to post my full comment the last time, Frost could have a variety of different ice moves that the creators still haven't come up with for an ice wielding character. Such as: ice walls, icicles, ice spikes coming up from the ground, ice nova, trapping the opponent in a deadly ice block, ice shield, snow, hail... a lot more can be created if thought of properly.
Last but not least, I don't want Tanya in, not specifically over the fact that she'll be the sixth Edenian character, no. I feel that she has more potential being a well-developed character for a main inclusion to a MK roster than as a DLC character. Why? People claim that they don't like some of the DLCs due to their lack of voice alternative costume, seems a bit buggy, and has nothing to do with the story of this game. Why include a really interesting character for DLC, such as Tanya and possibly Frost, if she's got such a better potential to be something even better as a main character in a final roster for the next game or whatever next MK game she appears in? The same could basically be said about for any character that gets selected as a DLC that is a MK character. I would rather save some of these characters for a potential spot in the main roster of a MK game than have them as a under developmental character that has some tweaks and glitches here and there.
That was all I was trying to get out of on my craptacular cell phone. I am done.

@ Icebaby:
Just because a character becomes DLC does not mean they can't be in the next game.
Yes, Jade was a clone of Kitana in MK2, so was Smoke - they turned out to be completely unique characters though. I wouldn't call Kenshi a clone, as he only had 1 move shared with Ermac while the rest were unique to his character (though Ermac stole a move from Kenshi in MKD) - just like Frost should have been like, however, all of her moves were like past Subbie moves which makes me see her as a clone character. I can't see why Tanya is a clone though, that one you have to explain to me.
And you have explained why you aren't a hypocrite, fair enough, I take that back. At first it did indeed seem like you were all "People say they don't want Frost because she is like Sub-Zero, so I don't want Tanya because she is another Edenian" which would indeed make you seem like a hypocrite. However, you have explained that is not the case.
Also, there Bi Han, Kuai Liang and Frost as cryomancers... That's three characters. Kuai Liang turns into a fourth character as a cyborg, but as you say, he is still the same person - just a different moveset and looks.
I shall repeat what I said about Frost - if they totally revamped her moveset, like they did with Kenshi for this game, I would be alot more acceptive of her. However, as she is now, I don't find her worth enough of my attention. I really don't find her an interesting character, but NRS has every chance of changing that.
Neither of them will be DLC, so we won't have to worry about that.
So I stick to my other choice - Reiko. If it isn't him, I won't be disappointed, but then they had to do something AMAZING with the fourth DLC character for me to be interested.
As of now, I am playing as Rain and enjoying him alot. ^^

Well, as stated in a previous thread that I made, I asked, "would DLC characters make it to the next game?" and interestingly majority, if not all that responded, said yes. And as figured, they have some 92% (totally a guess-im-ate) chance of appearing the next game, yes, they will and i have no problem.
Though, if it were up to me (as long as I apply for an internship at WB by this year) I would say, "Hey, let's wait until next game where we can really design these characters properly and have them at full potential, rather than a sneak peek of what they might be for next game.
But, I'm not selfish like that, and don't feel the need to take away something precious to a game. Though, despite that now this character isn't male, sadly I feel like this entire debate is no longer... not meaningful or didn't accomplish anything, but I can't find the words, so I am just going to go eat mah dinner.
