If they're going to build up a character like this for Saturday, it'd better be someone worth their onions. For that reason it could be a newbie. How many times has Ed rambled on about scads of new characters in the game?

One of the main draws of the MK is content and mainly who will be in the game. Demanding them release all information at once or do it as fast as possible is rather stupid, not that I surprised that certain people here uphold this opinion.

SF was never about who will be in the game and who's not, so it's not a good example. As for reveal: I think it will be either Raiden or (reaching) Shinnok. Maybe Fujin or entirely new character.

See, this is just untrue. The 5th character reveal for Ultra Street Fighter 4 was ALL about who it would be, as the whole SF community was on their tiptoes to find any sort of clue to who it would be.

I think Oracle has the right idea. It may not be Fujin, but I strongly doubt it's Raiden. Raiden doesn't do a whole lot of "watching" in the MK storyline.

Except maybe for MK3.


Well... sorta. The truth is that the community figured it was a doll pretty quickly once Ono said it someone from the comics.

Hyping up that character was the dumbest thing Capcom could have done, btw. After building her up that much, there was absolutely no way she could deliver. I'll never forget watching the reveal at Final Round, and after it was over, there was a silence so thick you could cut it with a knife. You could almost HEAR the indifference from the crowd.

Right now I'm thinking it's either another new character or an old character with a new purpose. Eternity makes me think in the realm of either gods or Edenians though.

Considering how the roster for MK varies so wildly from game to game and since roster definitely influences hype I think a strong steady stream of reveals is a good idea. Not all at once but info and reveals coming out at a trickle is not exciting so much as annoying imo.

I may be wrong, its been a while since I've played it, but doesn't Raiden say something about "watching for a millennia" in MK4? Standing in the rain with his monologue?

There's very little doubt I'll be wrong, but just to break up the Raiden / Fujin / New guy monotony, I'll go with Reptile.

I can't remember, lol. I'll double-check later, but even if he does say that, I'd still say the watching thing is unique to Fujin throughout the modern events of MK1-3.

I'm trying to think out of the box and kind of wondering if it could be Delia or the woman from Jade's MK2011 ending (I know, a lot of people are tired of hearing about her). I just think this way they could introduce a new playable character, but at the same time someone players have been familiar with in a vague way from past games. Most likely going to be Shinnok, Fujin, or an Elder God, though.

Maybe or just possibly it could be Argus or King Jarrod. They would be considered "new".

I insanely hope next reveal is Mileena. But with this eternity stuff, I think Shinnok is gonna be revealed. Raiden is a very safe shot, but there is no surprise in his reveal.

My gamble is Shinnok & Mileena. Or maybe ¿Jerrod? or Onaga. But I think Shinnok for sure and Mileena (I WISH).

I don't think it's . "I stand watch for eternity" implies to me this character has just stand by and watch the events of Mortal Kombat unfold and never was involve in them. He or she may have indirectly involve in the events, but never directly for people to put two and two together, to realize that he or she was behind it. Raiden, not only watch the events of Mortal Kombat, but also he didn't have a problem involve whenever needed. So I rule Raiden out.

I think it's worth noting that when Boon tweeted the quote he capitalized 'Eternity', which to me suggests that 'Eternity' may be a person or object.

Because Damashi isn't a character. It's a spirit form made by Onaga, a way for him to communicate and manipulate Shujinko.

It feels like Raiden or Shinnok. Either way I can't wait.

Wow I'm surprised people haven't guessed the lady from Jade's ending. I mean she did say she had been watching events unfold for eternities didn't she?

I know it is early and I don't think that he will be the character on Saturday but I am banking that Shujinko is the final boss. Ed's smile in that MK interview just screamed to me "good character gone bad". It's got to be Shujinko or God-Kang.

I would love to see them use MKX to incorporate all these great new elements, characters and plot. What I want to see most is them actually address MK4-MKA plot devices and put the ones to rest that need to be. Give us some sort of closure or at least a known intent of direction with things like The One Being, Kamidogu, Blaze and the Edenian brothers.

I seriously need closure. Haha.
