Is anyone else excited about so many brand new characters? I'm ready for the MK Universe to start evolving and break this cycle of regurgitating itself out of retcon and fan service necessity.

Sooooo hype for MKX!

On the guest characters: I'm not a fan of console exclusives so I hope it goes the route of the Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur 4 like someone mentioned where you could buy them as DLC after a certain time period.

Guest Character = Resources used on something that won't add to the series and will be forgotten after the game instead of using the exact same amount of resources on a character that multiple fans would like to see and most importantly, adds to the franchise development.

Not to mention you irate a lot of fans with them while the ones that like them would've been perfectly fine without them.

From a budget standpoint, I say ALWAYS use resources on stuff that adds to your franchise development.

I'm ready for the next generation of characters!

It may have been mentioned already but I'm pretty sure the jungle is saurian. Boon said an extinct outworld race... ya there's a lot of them lol but if any of them are gonna be home to a jungle it's the Saurians/Raptors/whatever you wanna call them... That and I personally just feel that Reptile is a prema-mainstay after MK9.

To their credit, it's not an unreasonable or irrational business move to try to bring in guest characters to increase their demographic.

The Kommunity is but a small, small fraction of purchasers.

Anybody but Jago, Fulgore, and Orchid is pushing it.

- Hate guest characters, but they won't corrupt my PC game version, so I don't really mind I think. Maybe they give Rain to the PC version only LOL.

- I HATEEEEEEEEEEEEE the fact that the 4 chapter bullcrap is back... the flashbacks don't make up for that at all, I really hate the 4 fight per chapter stuff, and it will ruin the storymode AGAIN. As this freaking system creates punchingbags!

The good news is about the new characters, I'm curious about them.

I think D'vorah is gonna be a minion of Kotal Kahn, and then seizes the power from him in the story. (probably in Cassies chapter, as again you can't play with the badguys only the boring good dorks.

Totally agree. This kinda derailed the hype train for me a bit. I am no longer really looking forward to the story at this point. Not sure why this isn't a bigger deal to other people posting in this thread. Why speculate about a story when (as of now) it is guaranteed to be shitty and one dimensional?

I most certainly hope not. Although, I can honestly say it wouldn't surprise me either. I didn't like the chapter formula, but it's way early yet to shit-storm. So I'm still stoked for story mode, atm.

with boon saying multiple characters rising to power in outworld in 25 years goes to show how powerful shao khan actually was during his reign.was it centuries or thousands of years cause i don't remember.

Confirmation of story presentation and all off a sudden the whole story, of which we don't know specifics yet, is suddenly shitty and one dimensional.

Pretty excited about the story speculations. Sorry for everyone, but Mileena is one of the only MK2-MK3 who deserves to be in this game, story-wise of course. I will glad to see Sektor or Cyrax, maybe Smoke, Rain or Noob (I hope Rain)... but even guys who does not like Mileena want her inclusion. Or at least, they think she deserves to be in MKX.

Want to see her relation with Kotal Kahn, so mysterious. Maybe he betray her, or maybe he lead a rebellion against her. Mileena shares (if we took part of her ending in MK9) a mystical bond with Shao Kahn, his dark magis (after his dead) belongs to her. Her ending fit so well for the sequel.

Another cool thing is Boon saying "he is one of the emperor of Outworld in this 25 years". That means he is not the only one. Excited as hell.

The question is, why are people surprised at a Story system that happen for three games now, created by the same developers?

No, not until these characters last more than one or two games.

Yes! Very excited. The brand new characters so far to me look great and far more interesting then many of the old characters. I am ready for Mortal Kombat to take the next steps and leave the past behind. Sure, take the best bits but leave the rest and bring in something new!
