Agreed. I thought the create a fatality was really stupid. More so than some of the gimmicky features in past games. Create a fatality was probably the worst feature ever introduced into the series IMO.

I thought the Kreate A Fatality was just an excuse for them to be lazy

Yeah, the create a fatality was an easy way out of programming fatalities for 60ish characters. Not that I blame them--would've taken a LONG time. It just was bland, there was nothing unique to characters for them to stand out. Some had swords or whatever, but for characters like Raiden who has control over lightning or Sub-Zero has power over ice be subjected to generic "punch in head, kick in stomache, and then rip head off" just doesn't utilize full potential, obviously.

It would've been better if it were structured along the lines of the Finisher Creator in WWE games.
You create your own finishing move from the ground up, and it is performed cinematically. This would've been much better for Armageddon.

Would've been better if they gave everyone fatalities. But nope they wanted a rush money grab.

If they decided to bring back Kreate A Kharacter I for one would be very happy! albeit an updated version!
I can see the KAF as a way to give the fighters you create a fatality... But the main characters should all have their own unique ones!
With ARMAGEDDON however I think it would have just been too much programing to give that many characters their own fatalities so it was a shortcut that would also integrate with the KAK... Same reason they cheated with Motaro... They COULD have made him a Centaur but it would have taken a lot of extra programming.

Am I the only one who REALLY doesn't care for a "cinematic" MK game? To me, it adds the feeling of polish and production value to a presentation that should be painfully real. I've mentioned it before, but I'd love a MK presented with a "found footage" style. Prolly never happen though. Reiko ftw

Dude, this is beyond funny now, it's honestly pathetic. Like cries for attention or something. Just stop embarrassing yourself. Seriously, stop. Boon debunked you, you just debunked yourself and now you're literally making yourself into something more than just a normal troll; a pathetic loser. Maybe if you'd just given it up days ago, I wouldn't be so harsh but it's honestly pissing me off seeing you go on and on about this shit when I'm just trying to enjoy everybodys opinions and you're posting this trash everywhere.
Sorry, back on topic; as for Kreate-a-Kharacter/Fatality, no thanks. Not unless it's, like someone else said, like Soul Calibur's Character Creation. Then maybe I'd be intrigued to see what NRS could do but as of now, I'd like to see more variations on the types of fatalities they've been doing.

Hey they technically said EVERY character in MKA would have a unique fatality followed by Kreate-a-fatality.
I read that Game Informer issue like 50 times.

Well yeah. Just like we are going to buy this one. Its not till after we buy it and play for awhile do we find out if it's terrible or not.

Technically, they all do.
Just by the eventualities of our own accord.

One has to wonder how many characters are going to be in this new game. If we assume that those who are alive will return, we have:
Scorpion, Kano, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Baraka, Mileena, Reptile, Cyrax, Sektor, Sheeva, Quan Chi, Ermac, Rain, Kenshi, and Skarlet.
It's been a while since I played or really did my homework on the story of the last game, so if someone up there is dead, feel free to tell me. I think I got everyone though.
Anyway, that's already 17 characters, so maybe not quite that many of the above make the cut. We can assume that MK4 gets folded in here, so that's five more names: Kai, Jarek, Reiko, Tanya, and Fujin. For all intents and purposes, I'm assuming that Shinnok will NOT be playable (since bosses weren't playable last time and I believe the trend will continue).
Deadly Alliance is tricky, and I only say that because we have no idea which of our zombie friends are coming back or how many playable characters there will be (probably around 30, but you never know). Now seems like a good point to give our undead cyborg friend Sub-Zero a game off and really establish Frost better. I'd imagine that Bo' Rai Cho will be in, as a mentor to Kai now that Liu Kang is once again dead. I feel like either Nitara or Sareena will make the cut, but not both... just a gut feeling for me. I'd like to see them re-work Drahmin, the change stance button seems tailor-made for him and his club. Mavado would be a welcome addition, I think. Hsu Hao... not without at least some semblance of an effort put into him, which didn't happen in MKDA. That leaves Li Mei, and given the general lack of "good" (alignment) characters I could see her getting into the game.
If everyone I've mentioned is playable (save Shinnok, see above), that's 29. However, we have to go back now to all the characters who are dead in some form: Liu Kang, Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero, Jax, Jade, Kitana, Kung Lao, Kabal, Stryker, Sindel, and Nightwolf. Personally, I hold nothing sacred here. Using "muh icons" or "muh sales figures" for justifying the direction of the story would be a bad move on NRS's part. If it were up to me, none of the dead would return as playable. They would obviously figure into the story mode in some form, but I believe that making the majority of them playable again for this game would be a mistake.
This is a bed that NRS made in MK 2011 and I for one sincerely hope they lay in it. There are a large number of characters who debuted post-MK3, and many of them have quite a bit of untapped potential that is worth exploring. But please, don't have half a dozen of them killed off in hilarious fashion again. It was stupid last time, and it would be beyond moronic this time.
To quickly chime in on a previous discussion, KAK and KAF need to stay exactly as they are: one half-decent and one piss poor idea (respectively) that both suffered from blatant laziness and awful execution.

A lot of it was (which got a lot of playable boss speculation going), but I'm preeeeetty sure the trophy list came out a few days before that ocurred.

@m0s: Noob was seemingly killed in the Soulnado. Debatable whether he's gone for good or not.
Out of the dead characters I want Sub Zero(possibly Kitana as a bonus) back. Everyone else can be dead or w.e
Also I don't know whether Liu Kang is truly dead or just really fucked up.

It would neat if there was like a post-story scenario where we could "earn" the dead characters back.
It could be like side missions to unlock each character. It'll lead to tons of game time. I'm down.

Good post Moseph, though I thought Noob was killed last game as well. EDIT: Someone beat me to it
As many potential characters as there are, I think the dead should stay dead. I would really miss playing as Kitana and Sindel though. I really think some new characters with fully flushed out stories would be cool though. Not a bunch but a couple. We already have years of stories with the old characters. Throw in a couple newbies.
