I would very much like this. I would hate for all the dead characters to not be playable in MK10. There are a lot of fan favourites in that list and removing them from a game would be a bad idea imo. Personally, I think we should unlock all the dead characters after finishing the story. I think that during the story itself they will all be saved and unlocking them afterwards would be pretty cool. Edit: Expanding from your idea Riyakou, maybe you can fight all the dead characters in separate side missions. Or maybe even one big endurance round where you fight all of them at once. Having it like a test your luck fight could make it interesting as well.

I'd be down for side missions, but then you'd have a vanilla SF4 scenario where the competitive scene complains because not everyone's unlocked from the start.

Let's be real though. MK's competitive scene consists of TYM. That's it. It's pretty insignificant compared to SF, Tekken, and others.

I know, I know, MK 2011 was at EVO. Great, keep the momentum going, but don't sacrifice the story for that. So yea, they can suck it.

IMO I like unlocking characters because it adds challenge and replay value to the game. The dead characters probably will be unlockable if anything.

Anyways, I wouldn't mind unlocking characters again. In fact, I wouldn't mind doing it by the crypt again, in which there's several colored coins to collect. But in this new way, you collect them doing several different things in matches. So sapphire coins you collect per each fatality victory. Gold is if you, let's say, perform several tasks in a match like "perform three uppercuts." Platinum could be every flawless victory you get.

I dunno, the coin system was always cool in Deadly Alliance.

It sounds likes the people who want all the dead characters to be playable want Mortal Kombat 7.2.

I really hope NRS doesn't listen to the fans/fan-sites THAT much. Keep the dead people out of the game. Keep KAK out of the game. This decision will allow MK10 to be of the finest quality possible. First-rate polish will make the game cool. It will make the game sell. Dead nostalgia is nothing but added fat.

OK I will do what I like to do when I'm not promoting my idea, that is reporting someone. I think everyone should join in and report him instead of commenting on threads about him. 10+ reports by different users must get the admins attention.

In Deception, Ermac and Liu Kang had freed all of the possessed character by having Ermac defeat each one and Liu Kang cleanse them afterwards.

This same method could be used, but with the option of choosing who you fight as, of course.



Having the dead characters remain unplayable until the completion of the story mode is chronologically keeping them out of the game.

Plus, the story remains unharmed and fans get to play as their favorites, so it's a definite win-win. I'm down.

I don't know if test your luck should come back. As much as I enjoyed it, and believe me it was a really awesome mode, what else would you add to it to make it a bit different than the last? I'm sure there are ideas but I don't it needs to return, at least not immediately.

I really don't want the dead character to come back right away. Maybe turn Liu Kang into this Fire God from his ending, or have a Jade comeback with her being possessed but not in this game. This is the time to let undeveloped characters with potential shine! Tanya, Fujin, Kai, Reiko, Shinnok, Bo Rai Cho, Frost (I wouldn't mind Subby taking a brake if her moveset rocks), Ashrah, Sareena, Havik, Nitara should DEFFINITELY make the cut. I wouldn't mind some new ones too!

I just hope it's also for ps3 as well. I don't have ps4 nor do i want it right now.

I like Test Your Luck. It's loads of fun and I'd love for it to come back. Besides, they still haven't implemented the Character Switch yet. I want my Character Switch!

I'll be more than happy if Sub Zero and Kitana come back. MK just isn't MK without those two. At least for me it isn't

I know exactly how you feel. I'm content as is with my PS3. If it does come out for that system, we'll definitely have to fight online.

You must hate Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition.

That game was shitty as hell. The only redeeming factor was Sareena as a playable character, however, the game was really bad. But I feel like that about most handheld fighting games, unless it is a port of a console game, such as MK Unchained for PSP and MK: Komplete Edition for Vita.

I wouldn't be too upset. Kitana has already missed a few games and even Scorpion didn't make the cut once to make room for newbies. I think now that we have around 3.450 Sub Zeros in wraith forms, zombie forms, female forms, cyborg forms it would be time for Frost to shine. I get how people would feel about it since I would also be upset if Mileena didn't make the cut, but hey. Sheeva is one of my fav characters so I've been kinda used to that
I'd still buy the game.
