While the multi coloured coins added a lot of longevity to DA, it used to do my nut in when you'd spend ages doing arcade ladders and still not get the colour you needed. Felt like I never got Onyx coins.

MK10 pretty much confirmed now, can't wait!

Noob and Sareena made that game good for me. The fatalities were god awful though.

True, I will agree that it took a long time to get them. But I'm sure they could easily fix that if they ever decide to bring that back. I do miss the coins.

I didn't even know that existed, but yeah when I look at it its crap, not only for that, but for gameplay reasons aswell.
In fact all ps2 MKs exept Shaolin monks (DA, dec and armaggedon) had horrible gameplay

MK10 needs to take clues from Injustice's online with playercards, statistics, and daily challenges. MK9 was so barebones.

I'm glad Noob became his own character in MKD. I kinda liked the tag thing with Smoke, it was fun and different at the time.

Shinnok and Tremor being playable this game is all I ask,. The rest is just bonus.

Boon just tweeted the 'Who's Next?' image but with a Roman numeral date at the bottom. It was VI.II.MMXIV

I've been thinking long and hard about this and I've already posted several lists elsewhere but I constantly keep changing my mind the more and more we speculate. Out of the alive characters I believe we will see;

Scorpion - Because he's a main stay, obviously.
Kano - In replace of Jarek possibly.
Sonya - Retro Hero #1
Johnny Cage - Retro Hero #2
Raiden - Given.
Baraka - Given his ties to MK 4/Gold and as a series-long henchman.
Mileena - Pretty much goes wherever Baraka goes, unfortunately.
Reptile - Maybe strikes up a deal with Shinnok about his race?
Cyrax - Joins Special Forces?
Sektor - Starts becoming more of an independent threat and allies himself with Shinnok and Quan Chi.
Quan Chi - Given.
Noob Saibot - He's already dead and Shinnok's in the Netherealm, can easily be resurrected.
Ermac - Possibly will become expanded as a plot device, follow through with the Jerrod thread.
Rain - Story about Edenia, makes perfect sense he'll be here.
Kenshi - Fan favorite from later games and Earthrealm needs more good guys on Raiden's side of the fight.

That's 15. For all intents and purposes, I don't believe Skarlet or Sheeva will probably be back. Skarlet though could be a wild card but I don't see them bringing back every character from MK9's DLC (Not including Freddy). Thus brings us to the MK4/Mythologies cast. Jarek I don't think was popular enough to make a return even though he's still entirely possible but since I left in Kano above, I'll sit Jarek out of this round which gives us;

Kai - New hero and a possible replacement for Liu Kang.
Sareena - Fan favorite and hasn't been in too many games, perfect addition for this cast and a chance to flesh her out.
Reiko - General to Shinnok so a must.
Tanya - Another Edenian and could possibly team up with Rain, be traitors together for the evil side.
Fujin - Raiden's gonna need assistance and I'm pretty sure the Elder Gods will probably be questioning Raiden's methods after how everything went down in MK9.

That's 20. Now for the Deadly Alliance/Deception crew;

Bo Rai Cho - This cast needs a mentor figure besides Raiden and Bo Rai Cho is the perfect fit. Take out all the nonsense like the farting/vomiting and you have a great character here.
Li Mei - Another good guy for the hero ranks and could possibly go to the side of evil depending on the situation.
Drahmin - Just because he's badass and has a lot of potential, design and story wise. Could act as Quan Chi's personal protector.
Nitara - Shinnok could easily get the vampire to side with him with (false) promises and she can replace the female monster type character since above I left out Sheeva.
Havik - Seen in an ending for MK9, it's entirely possible Havik could join with Shinnok's crew to ensure that he causes as much chaos as possible in the situation.

That's 25 and thus that leaves us with the stragglers. I figure these could be more evil characters, characters Quan Chi has called for assistance or resurrected as a means of use to Shinnok.

Ashrah - I really want to see her demon form. Since she was a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow, this is entirely possible and could appear alongside of Sareena.
Kitana - The resurrected Edenian Princess could be used to create confusion and help out Shinnok and Quan Chi with her background as an assassin.
Liu Kang - One of Earth's mightiest heroes resurrected and fighting for Shinnok. This could be a chance to play him all scarred and messed up looking, give him a hooded appearance like from the MK web series or just a mysterious look in general and finally give the character a switch and let him be evil (and not just undead).

That gives us 28, the same number of slots from MK9. Yes, I know it probably will be a few more but I'm just going with that for now. Now, that leaves us with some of the other undead characters and of course, Sub-Zero. It would be a brilliant move to shift DLC if Sub-Zero is part of it. Cheap, yes, but brilliant and a way to ensure people get their Season Pass once they buy the game.

Hype train is at full throttle now.. time is moving so slow all of the sudden.

I left out Subby but Scorpion has ties with Quan Chi and Subby is dead. lol But if they couldn't bring themselves to do it, Sub-Zero could be switched with Kitana/Liu if needed. It'd still make DLC sell.

I really...REALLY hope it isn't a crossover.

Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition is actually one of my favorite MK games.

I love the tag team fighting, and the feel was very similar to Deadly Alliance. Plus, it had Bo' Rai Cho, so I was set. Even more so, the game included thee additional characters, which was pretty neat. And finally, it was all canon!

You and I disagree on so many points. XD

I have a good feeling, it's probably been said though, I think the 'Who's next' means "who's stepping to the plate?" and "who's the next challenger?".

I think it's going to be a MK4's cast, and who died in MK9 probably won't be in. If they are, which they won't since the character count would be huge, they won't be in the story.

It sucks to have a good cast not return, I love seeing different renditions of characters, but it'll be great to see MK4's new roster revamped. With some of MKDA's new characters, and maybe some MKDeception's too.

Someone made a joke poster for Injustice 2 and said that he was happy for MK10 but he wanted Injustice 2, to which Boon replied "Don't worry.In due time... :)"

As well confirming that it is MK10 Boom confirms no Injustice 2, so we can put that rumour to bed.
