Personally, I believe, that Skarlet will make an appearance. Afterall, she was a sole new character in MK9 and I think it wouldn't take much to develop her better. Besides, she has an interesting gimmick, which differs her from other fighters.

Out of the post MK3 characters, I think:

Quan Chi
Kenshi
Tanya
Bo Rai Cho
Li Mei

are the ones favoured by the MK team...Just because they have more appearances than the others...

I could see her being in there.

I have a list of 13 characters who I feel deserve to return.

Sareena, Fujin, Kai, Tanya, Reiko, Bo Rai Cho, Li Mei, Mavado, Frost, Nitara, Hotaru, Havik, and Ashrah.

Drahmin gets an honorable mention because I want him back in a sub-boss position (non-playable).

If I got to make the list though, I would swap Frost, Drahmin, Tremor, and Shujinko with Li Mei, Bo Rai Cho, Hotaru, and Havik.

I honestly hope they give Drahmin another chance. I mean it's not really the characters fault that he was given a lackluster design.

His background was really unique, but it never fleshed out to its full potential. I would LOVE to see a mixture betwee his new Oni life and his former Warlord days.

Nice read.

Dying to see Fujin back in action. Hoping for Reiko to be back as well.

They, along with Havik, are the best of the bunch.

I wouldn't mind seeing all of them return in the next game.

Yeah same here.

This could very well be Fujin's breakout game.

it still surprises me how some get loud over this waaaay minor character

apparently cause he has "potential" despite never having an official appearance in the series main story... Its a joke. i'll never understand it

tremor's hype is only cause of desperation of wanting to have another ninja. After Rain was confirmed DLC for MK9... fans turned to Tremor as the ninja to bug Ed Boon over. Thank god they just made him a joke challenge tower appearance instead. Tremor fans got their unoriginal character and it turns out to be a clone lol! How fitting!

Besides.... no one outside of the mk forums knows who he is. Special Forces flopped badly after all.

I think it was their mistake - now fans aware, that NRS remembers Tremor and willing to put him in the game, so they will ask for him even more loudly.

A rebooted MK4 cast has a lot of potential in it. I would also love to see a more serious take on Bo Rai Cho.

Most people outside the MK forums don't know any character beyond MK2.

I fail to see your point.

I completely agree. Drahmin is a good character. I think he has a great backstory as well as a unique look. He just needs a fighting style worth talking about. I honestly believe his backstory makes him scarier than Moloch. I think if they made him a sub-boss and made him just a tad bit darker (Idk how exactly but a tad darker) that he would be one of the better new characters. He's definitely underappreciated though.

Truth to be told, these were the better post MK3 characters, so i can see why they have more appareances than the rest...

Quan Chi was in MK9 and didn't die, so i guess it's safe to say he'll be back in MK10, although he was in a similar position in MKDA and he still missed Deception, but Ed Boon has always kissed Quan's ass so he'll be back...

Kenshi was also in MK9 as DLC, i think all the DLC characters will be regular characters in the next game.

Tanya was the best female of the series in my opinion, and she is relatively popular compared to many other characters, so i can see her returning, but with the way the storyline in went in MK9, i'm not sure.

Bo' Rai Cho i can see returning, never liked his design but he could be interesting gameplay-wise + he has a nice role.

Li Mei was also a very good character in my opinion, a lot of people don't like her, but she had the most interesting storyline that was very well planned all the way since DA, she went from a naive, weak girl to a fierce and independent woman fighting for good in MKA.

That said, the list is OK, but i would add Li Mei and Bo' and remove some of the lower ranked characters.

You, sir, get a kiss! grin
Pretty good list..I'd take out Tremor and Shujinko and replace them with Havik and Big Bo

Not a big fan of Shujinko and Tremor just screams "Future DLC" to me. Kinda like Skarlet did in the last game.

Y'know I was browsing around and found a great list Tyrant Cenobite made on whatculture I think it is. If you can find it I think it's worth a read.

For me It's not about if my favorite characters will make it in it's more how many underdogs with potential will be done well...if they make it in.

Well that and oh god if you're going to put Sheeva in buff and improve her or kill her off via heroic death.

Clearly more ppl would know the main roster of MK3, MK4, MKDA etc over minor boss characters from a flop side game.

Tremor was never a part of the main roster. why is he even in this list?? Its nonsense....

Jarek will never be replaced by Tremor. I'd bet money on that.

I don't see them doing new characters as DLC tbh.... out of the DLC in the last game, Skarlet was the least played in PS3, Xbox, and even PC. It'd be a better business decision to use familar faces as DLC.... you know. Characters ppl actually recognize. Whether they're from the MK series or 3rd party.
Jaded Raven, have you played MK4?
I beg to differ!
After MK 4 everything changed all of the sudden, if they would have continued the story of 4 before they started MKDA everything would have been different, as well as Reiko being a playable character in Deadly Alliance.

It's a nice list and all but there's a couple startling additions in it. Here is my thinking.... assuming we get the same number of playable spots (leaving one open since the two spots for Cyber Sub was stupid) then that is 28. Then I'll add another 4 as the lowest possible additional number for DLC spots. Returning from MK2011, I bet we'll have or hope we'll have;

01 Scorpion
02 Raiden
03 Sonya Blade
04 Johnny Cage
05 Liu Kang (Burnt, scarred or partially robotic - no zombie again... yet)
06 Sub-Zero (reanimated ((not zombified)) minion for Shinnok)
07 Kitana (reanimated ((not zombified)) minion for Shinnok)
08 Ermac
09 Reptile
10 Mileena
11 Cyrax
12 Kano
13 Noob Saibot
14 Sektor
15 Baraka
16 Quan Chi
17 Kenshi
18 Rain

Then add in the characters from post MK3 that are likely to show up based on either popularity, story possibilities or hints from left-over endings;

19 Reiko
20 Tanya
21 Kai
22 Fujin
23 Sareena
24 Li Mei
25 Drahmin
26 Frost
27 Bo' Rai Cho
28 Havik

Finally, DLC characters... possible could switch out Ashrah for Sub-Zero and make a bunch of sales on the Season Pass so players can get their hands on Subby but I don't exactly see that going so well so;

29 *New character*
30 Shang Tsung
31 Ashrah
32 Tremor

Anyways, I expect something pretty similar to this list.

I don't understand at all why there is such a big hype over a character that appeared in the crappiest of all Mortal Kombat games. I've never understood the popularity he gained after that game, and seeing how he has yet to be in a game, people still whine and complain and wish that he needs to be. And the way people act about it is just ridiculous. Tremor and Rain, both of this characters bring out the ugly among the fans.

What's the matter with Tasia or No-Face? How come they can't have the same chance as Tremor does? Out of the three of them, I'd like to see Tasia make an appearance, just because I don't like Tremor. Never had, never will. Will she ever appear in the future? Doubt it, but it's something different rather than a bland character that could easily have someone replace him immediately.

I actually had Mortal Kombat Gold for Dreamcast and I played the FUCK out of that game! LOVED IT! And that's where my love for Reiko and Tanya comes from. ^^

Reiko strived for Shao Kahn's helmet. We never got to know why, there were never an explanation, and making Reiko suddenly appear as a boss character just because of that... No.

Reiko is a minion. He is a member of the Brotherhood of Shadows, he works for Quan Chi and Shinnok, and later for Shao Kahn as shown in Armageddon, because he had a fall-out with Quan Chi - AGAIN without any explanation why that is!

I'd much rather have him as a playable non-boss character and get his story explained before they even think about putting Reiko on the boss-character list. I could easily imagine that after Shinnok is taken down, Reiko would rise to take the throne of Outworld, perhaps with the help of Tanya or Mileena (or both). But that is stuff for an Arcade Ladder ending in the next game and NOT something he should start with.

Reiko as a boss could have potential, but not in the next game. Would make no sense to me. We have Shinnok and Quan Chi to deal with first, and later Onaga, should he return.
