I know what you mean there. Back in 2013, my twitch channel was taken down for streaming the Injustice demo. For whatever reason, WB thought I got my hands on the actual game or something and was streaming that. Had to go back and forth with twitch for a few days to get my channel back up. But however, since it was a leak and something not officially announced or shown, I can understand the copyright claim. Showing off something that isn't yours that wasn't originally shown by the party that owns it first is a no go. It's the same reason why twitch doesn't allow people to stream a full game that hasn't been released publicly yet.

24 wont be the Roster number.. I'm guessing it will be 25 initially. And that's just by looking at the roster on the last couple Live Streams. There are 25 spots. 26 if they remove that oddly placed random select "?" mark.

I'm cool with the initial roster being 24, its same as Injustice but with 3 variations for each character. We already know we are getting at least 4 DLC characters so that's a 28 number roster at the very least, not bad IMO.

An image that was easily found on multiple public sources all over the internet and had been circulating all day. Not only that, but without showing the screenshot it's purely speculative whether or not it's legit. Obviously the fact that you could find the actual screen all over the place as well proved it was legit, but the video alone did not.

I'm not saying it was wrong for the video to be taken down because WB obviously didn't want people to know about that character yet. But I do think a copyright strike is unfair, as he wasn't the one who leaked the image, he just reported on it.

If any of the new comers get killed off that would be a FUCKING waste. What's the point in creating a new character, getting fans to accept them, and then killing them off all in the same game? How the fuck is that any different from the same patterns they've been repeating with new characters for years now?

On one hand, knowing that all the nooblets are effectively invincible does kneecap the tension a bit, but on the other hand, there are much bigger things than just their lives at stake, and it's not like we'll really get to see any of them in action until the very last arc. It helps that all of them seem cool so far, and I don't want any one of them to die.

Wonder how Takeda gets involved with the Cassie's group. In the comics he has been attached to Scorpion's hip since Kenshi left, I thought they were going to be a duo of sorts in MKX, you know, like Peanut Butter and Jelly, and here we have Takeda tagging along with Cassie's group with no sign of the Hanzonator.

I'm guessing Takeda gets mad one day and does the cliché " You're not my father!!! I don't have to listen to you!!! " and runs off , eventually crossing paths with the Cassie clan.

I think the casting sheet said that Kenshi comes back to pick him up eventually so he could join him in the SF.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful, no, I'm grateful that the Midway days are dead and gone. I made a broad assumption in the heat of the moment, and probably shouldn't have. I wasn't aware of how WB handles other games' marketing (doesn't surprise me about Arkham tbh), but I ultimately stand by what I said.

I just can't shake this feeling of "sellout" on NRS' behalf. The comics (mainly the use of 3-4 alternate covers), the middle finger that is the Komplete Edition, mobile/console exclusives, $30-$400 toys/statues, FOUR KEs, guaranteed DLC's (at least for us die-hards), and I'm thinking the only reason they're not doing the strategy guide this go around is because with all the errors from MK9's, I'm sure WB ended up losing money having to send out replacements rather than coming out ahead.

Of course none of that is really "new", it's just a little...idk, irritating?

I gave fair warning in various different threads that I would, in fact, rant about this once it was confirmed that the post-Trilogy era characters were getting the shitty end of the stick. And I would argue the "mediocre" aspect, but for the sake of staying on point, I won't. MK4 characters in particular were not as obscure as they are now. Reiko alone had shitstorms of people talking because of the whole "omgz it's KAHN", and just take a look at where Quan Chi is at now. 3D Era- or even Kenshi. Why is that? EXPOSURE.

If memory serves, the only characters I even recall being completely hated at the time were Jarek and Kai. At least in my neck of the woods.



This is the response I was expecting. "Welcome to the world" or "That's the way it is". Well yeah, but it's the aspect of us consumers "being taken advantage of" that drives me bonkers. The majority blindly gobbles up whatever "new" product a company or retailer shells out. This is precisely how we ended up with sequels/prequels/remakes/reboots (blasphemies like six fucking Saw movies, TMNT, Oz The Great and Whatever, to continue, this list could easily take up this whole page) that just should never have been, and the split finales of monstrous films like Harry Potter, Twilight, and Hunger Games. The film and gaming industry are different, but this concept of "squeezing" still applies.

Naturally, we want to support companies that give us great products, but they go above and beyond those lengths to drain you dry. It's not exclusive to MK, but it only happens because we LET IT.

I've said it many times on this forum, but Mortal Kombat is the only game I'll follow to the ends of the Earth. It's the only reason I still play video games, it's the only reason I even go into Gamestop, and it's the only reason I'm being so forthcoming and passionate about what I'm saying in this post.

I'm taking time out of my life, money out of my wallet, and spending it on this product. So uhhhh....you goddamn right I'm going to scrutinize every detail about this game. Up until this "rant", I have been nothing but supportive of this game AND NRS.

If they had included one, JUST ONE, one the post-Trilogy characters (Please don't, Quan Chi and Kenshi advocates - them bitches been retconned), besides the obvious Shinnok appearance, to show that they're not getting the boot, I would not have even made a single post in this thread.

If NRS approached me with a deal, saying that they would cut Reptile from the initial roster and leave him for DLC (which would have sold 50x more) with no story relevance, but would include Fujin and Bo' Rai Cho in the initial roster...I'd fucking take the deal. Because at least I can say that Reptile has had multiple chances. Not to mention, without muh boii, Deception (which has one of the best storylines in the franchise, imo) would not have even been possible. Oh my god was that a blaze of glory.

Also, MK9 cliffhanger. Remember that? I sure as hell do. They intentionally set you up for the expectation of those characters. How can you deny that? It's like a blatant slap in the face, man. Here, have a huge MK4 teaser, MK4/3D era cameos out the ying-yang, appearances in comics, but uhhh...ya gotta pay for them all if you really want to fully enjoy them. Seriously?

To finalize my post, even though the overall quality of this site has been on decline, I'm so buttfucking thankful that there are still some users on here who are intellectually stimulating. As @coltess so aptly put in the General Discussion Forum, I really do appreciate you guys. As well as this franchise, I'm just blown away by this decision. Blown....away.

Exactly my fucking point. How in the hell does that break patterns? MK has a problem with introducing new characters for a game and then never following up on them again. If any of the newbies were to be killed off in MKX that would be nothing but the cycle continuing. Look I'm not stupid, I know not every newbie will make the cut for MKX. But to purposely plan to kill off a few in MKX is just completely idiotic and once again- a waste.

Other than that , there are some things whih are not lear and makes me wonder

1)If the OFFICIAL roster is like what people assume (YET thankfully the NRS is not as shallow to create a roster which includes only heroes) it's going be absolutely weird because how can I select a villain for The brotherhood of shadows for ONLINE FATION WAR since there is only ONE OFFICIALLYconfirmed character tha suits the theme well, Quan chi ???

-Princess Kitana is a revenant and related to the story=OFFICIALLY PLAYABLE
-Jax is a revenant and related to the story = PLAYABLE
-Queen Sindel is a revenant and related to the story = PLAYABLE (but many people denies it with such a hatret and ignorance and please do not repeat the same thing ''the outfit is just the same '' because you have to be BLIND not to see the difference !!

Trust me on this one, Sindel is not playable
