Mortal Kombat X Ports Delayed Until Summer 2015

High Voltage developed Mortal Kombat X ports for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 will officially be delayed until the Summer of 2015. A Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment representative confirmed the Summer delay to VideoGamer.com amidst extensive speculation.

"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer," Warner Bros said in a statement provided to VideoGamer.com. "The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14."

CentreSoft has issued new assets advertising the Summer release. Online retail giant Amazon.com recently relisted the last gen versions for a June 30 release. An exact date is presently unknown. Special thanks to MK Online User Muckyneck1983 for sharing content.

I Really feel bad for people who are getting it on PS3 & Xbox 360 :(. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. I just hate that they wanted this long to let them know.

Yeah, I kinda called this like six months ago. This is the reason I started saving cash after E3 for next gen. A precident had already been set by WB and other companies to delay last gen ports. It was highly likely.

This suck for last gen users. I have been seeing some good deals on next gen consoles lately. I would expect last gen to be faze out altogether here shortly. I am still surprise they even thought about making a last gen version. Most likely WB idea wanting to sell as many copies as possible.

Well, good thing I saved up all last year and got an XBONE at Black Friday. Here's hoping all you previous gen users find ways to help pass the time or upgrade.

It makes perfect sense though, they can only complete their work once the NRS version is finished, maybe this means they aren't rushing it and pretend to do a decent port.

I only have a PS3 and a PC

so looks like i'm pretty much forced to buy the PC version. I don't like buying PC. wastes alot of space on my computer T_T

I only play MK so would seem stupid to spend all up $800 all up for one game, especially as MK9 is a PS3 only game and as such I'd need both the PS3 and PS4 if I wanted to play the two games.

Same time though, this is terrible PR by Netherrealm Studios.. they would have known a LONG time before now that the 3rd party was unable to meet the deadline. You don't just tell fans who have pre-ordered back in December of the news a month out from release.

I wasn't in a huge rush to get this one really, since some of my friends are getting MK9 for cheap soon. That and I didn't feel like buying this until the Komplete edition comes out in a year or so.

MKX looks amazing, and I love the roster, but it feels a bit too similar to MK9 so far to get, so I'll just wait it out. I'm sure eventually I'll get it and enjoy it though.

No, I think his issue lies in the fact that they have been adverting this game to be released on the 14th for current and last gen consoles for a while now and are just now telling people this. Its just a little inconsiderate to those people who planned on buying the game on last gen on the 14th, that's all.

Just read this whole thread. I have a ps4 and xbox one and if all these people here are supposed to be gamers i have no sympathy for them. You've had more than enough time to upgrade to current gen if you're a true gamer. If not then oh well you get the deficiencies and consequences of sticking with last gen.

You don't have to be a "true gamer" to like MK. MK is actually the only game I play, so why would I spend $600 on a PS4 for one game when that said game was meant to be coming out on PS3.

Some people have mortgages, families, cars, their own businesses to worry about rather than gaming systems.

It's ok folks, all of us are going to be able to play MKX in the next few months. The people who have purchased the new gen systems get first dibs on the game and deservedly so. NRS has been focused on making the best possible product on the best possible hardware. Last gen gamers such as myself will have to wait a little longer for the port and we won't have the highest quality product, but we should be thankful that WB decided to port the game (unlike the upcoming Batman Arkham Knight) at all.

I have a PS4 too, its what im getting MKX on, but I can still admit that saying something is coming out on a specific date for months, then waiting a month before the games comes out to tell peoples its delayed is a little idk the best word I can think of is inconsiderate.

Thing is twofold.....1) some of us, myself included, are a little older have alot more bills in life and just can't peel off $400 for a game system...you can that's awesome more power to you, no need to punish people like me though like we're somehow deficient and 2) and it's been brought up, did they really not know until now that it was delayed, like a month before release this is coming out...that's just a straight up tease...but at the end of the day everyone will have it and it'll all be good just have to deny impulse to watch and or read everything about it before you get it......i just i dunno...i feel punished because i can't afford a new gen console right now
