This announcement was a tipping point for me to buy a PS4. Struggled with it for awhile now. I might've been under the influence of scotch and Amazon's "one click" feature, but I couldn't stop.

Sure, but people have been saying that delays were a STRONG possibility. Since launch they have been saying it. On these very forums. It has been crystal clear since last year that last gen was an afterthought to WB. Now its just confirmed.

But this isnt a case of "I told ya so" even though several people did. People like me were genuinely trying to look out for last gen gamers. The signs were everywhere and I knew that if people came to a forum like this then they would likely want the game as early as possible. I didnt want anyone to get shafted last minute like fans of other cross-gen games have been. But here we are.

Also remember, PS is Sh** in that it's not backwards compatability. I have a PS2 for MK: Armageddon, a PS3 for MK9, seems stupid to have to buy a PS4 for MKX :(

But yeah, my issue is more that we weren't told despite WB knowing for 6 months or more now.

You're not a real gamer in my estimation if you believe the only reason to buy a current gen console is for mk... you're just an mk fan. A real gaming fan knows the hundreds of other reasons to get a current gen console that's been out for more than enough time for you to somehow get it. Maybe if you used all the time you spend on this site to work or do extra jobs to save this wouldn't be a problem. I'm saying you're not a real gamer because a real gamer would have grinded to get that console.

Have you any idea what the economic crash has done to people? - Many first world country citizens are literally unable to feed themselves anymore. My priority is keeping the roof over my head, not allowing the elitist comments of some yuppie 2000 miles away dictate my life.

We previous gen-users don't want your sympathy, we just want these kind of comments to stop because it's really patronizing. There are enough rifts in the world without a MK fanbase mini-civil war. I for one don't want another new console, i just want the bile, the arguing and the 'I told you so's to cease.

The shitty thing here is that we first got wind of it through rumours, then unconfirmed Amazon date changes, and finally the real confirm. The way the news was disseminated was handled all wrong by WB's press. It's not an excuse to start genwars. I personally am disappointed but i was so close to throwing up my hands and not bothering with this game at all until the "komplete" edition anyway, so that's probably what i'll do - provided that gets released for previous gen at all.

I really thought they were going to cancel it like they did with Dying Light. Sucks for the people who only have these systems and they were looking forward to playing it next month.

I guess I'm not a real gamer then. Lol I don't play as many games as others with consoles, but when I do finally pick a game, I play it religiously and with a passion. Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, God of War, etc.

And someone said there were clues pointing to this delay. Honestly, aside from rumors that started a couple of weeks ago, I didn't notice any obvious signs. I don't go by rumors because that's all they are. There's a rumor for everything and I try not to believe them unless there is proof or a legitimate reason.

Never said jobs fall out of the sky or grow on trees. Im in the us and its plenty of side jobs you could do to make some extra coinage. Shoveling snow, mowing lawns, helping people or friends move, helping people clean, collect bottles and other recyclable resources and sell them. Sell your old consoles and games and that should get you half the price of a $350 xbox one. Its more things i can name but its ways to get these consoles if you really want them. Also im pretty sure the millions of people who bought a current gen console main priority is to keep a roof over their head. You act like they ignored every responsiblity in their life to get it which is false. If they couldn't pay outta pocket for it right then and there they SAVED like every other person who cant afford something right then and there does to get something they really want. If you cant find a way to do or if you feel as though you don't have to upgrade to the latest hardware then you accept whatever consequences cones along with that in too good for that attitude.

I sure am. I have been pumped for this game for a long time and now I learn I have to wait until "summer" . I play a lot of different games which makes it all the more expensive to upgrade if I want to have anywhere close to the same amount of games to play. I still have about a month left to scrap up the funds to upgrade, but just hearing this has completely destroyed my hype. I hate the thought that I might be upgrading to PS4 just for one single game.

In short, I'm pissed. I pre-ordered, and I wont even get the game when I was expecting to for so long unless I drop a minimum of 300 bucks (including the cash I would get for selling my PS3) on buying a PS4. In which case I wouldn't even be able to play MK9 anymore.

Even if I do wait until summer to get it on PS3, its going to be severely worse considering the 30 FPS as opposed to 60 FPS on PS4 and XBone,

The ps3 abd 360 version will run at 60 fpsv exactly as Mk9 did.

Hang in there dude, before you get attacked by unreasonable elitists, I empathize with you but is just a little longer, you can always watch the story mode on YouTube and gameplay vids to keep the hype alive or distract yourself with other titles. It could be worse though, they could have outright cancelled the port.

Sorry to hear that man. When MKX was announced I started to budget for a new system because I wanted the best experience for my favorite game. I feel your pain though because there aren't many other PS4 games I want right now. I might finally pick up the system when Bloodborne comes out but I don't even like that style game.

BTW, I'd go with the Xbone over the PS4. Based on me loving my Xbone.

I am getting on PS4 but I do feel bad for the people on last gen, this wait has been a long one, and then when its finally drawing to a close it gets pushed back for last gen users. I would be extremely disappointed, probably a little angry as well.

It's worth mentioning I'm not mad at NRS or anything, and I know they are and should be considered current gen. Point being the only reason for me upgrading shouldn't be for a single game and its release date.

And to the user that said it will be 60 FPS on last gen....Are you sure? Where did you hear this from? I've been following quite religiously, and I don't remember where, but I recall hearing that from one of the official updates or videos from NRS team.

Im pretty sure Ed confirmed that last gen would be 60 fps. They'll cut whatever corners they have to to make that happen. It's a pretty crucial aspect of fighting games gameplay. They'll drop effects, pollys, etc before dropping framerate.

As bad as the delay seems this may be a good thing because of the technical prowess they can achieve with last gen. Maybe they want it sturdy and not f'd up.

Think about it. If the game is coming along but they want to polish it to be the best it can that's a good thing. No screen tearing. Dropped frames. Glitches. Bugs. Infinite loading textures. Lack of content. There's a big disadvantage here due to the lack of hardware specs it will take to run this game on ps3 as oppose to a console that had almost 9 years to excel at.

Yea it sucks but at least whatever is holding it back will be well worth a 60$ purchase. If it was rushed and a huge let down for last gen owners wanting the best experience possible. Many would feel let down and loathe the fact they rushed it. Look at this as a positive.

I respect your frustration but I would look at this as a stepping stone. I had a lot of 360 games before I upgraded to XBOX ONE. I didn't want to part ways but for all the credit I got for the games and system, It wasn't bad. I ended up paying about $60 for the system.

MK X is just the start. Pretty soon, a lot of companies will be turning away from the older gen.

Trade that stuff in and start fresh, man. Look at this being done NOT only for MK X but your future of gaming. I know that sounds corny but it's true. Next Gen is where it's at. Why wait until summer to play the greatest fighting game

This is good to hear, and I don't follow Ed's tweets, but I hope you're right. And if I'm not mistaken, another team is taking over for the process of making it playable on the last-gen consoles.

It's almost impossible to look at this as a good thing. Of course I don't hate NRS for making this decision, I believe they probably made the right one. The point is I'm not so excited for the game anymore.

A big part of it for me is running through the story and experiencing the game. Not watching it or anything like that, I want to play the game, and I'm one of the people that don't want the whole game to be "spoiled" before it comes out. Or if it does I wont be reading the story script, I wanna play it.

Given what you said, I still highly doubt, in any terms, that the last-gen versions will be better in any way as you seem to be inferring. If that't not what your inferring, I don't understand how you could still say it should be looked at as a good thing.
