I'm rooting for 1 new and 1 old. I really want to see a new character, i'm almost more excited to see what kind of new character there are then seeing a redesigned old character. Of course a new stage or two. I have a feeling it'll be 2 characters 2 stages. Since they didn't really do shit for EVO and skipped SDCC.

At this point, if Kitana's not in the main roster she'll definitely be DLC.

On another note- Has anybody asked Ed about STAGE FATALITIES on Twitter?

In an interview with Gamespot, Ed said it was "very likely" they'd be integrated (which almost certainly means there will be.) Not counting MKvsDC, stage fatalities have been consistently present since 2004, so I'd be surprised if they were absent.

I think I'd rather see 2 new because the new characters are much harder to sell than old faces. Refer back to the reactions from the E3 gameplay trailer back at Sony's press conference. D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr both caught a lot of shit from people everywhere.

But as time went on we became more accepting. (Though there are still people who say they don't belong.) If they reveal an old character people will already like that character regardless.

I am on the fence about whether I want a new or old character to be revealed. I really want to see reptile's new design if he is in, but I also would like to see what new directions MK is preparing for. New character's will shed light on what is to come more so than old character's I would think. I can't decide which I would prefer. So I will also will root for 1 old and 1 new with 2 stages. That would quench some of my thirst for sure.

I'd like to see a returning character and a new descendant character. So far we only have Cassie but we already know she's not the only "next generation" character in the game.

3-4 new characters is more probable along with 1 stage.

This 100%. It is the only other true descendant I can imagine. Another "gameplay descendant" may be possible, but the only other direct descendant of characters I could see is this.

Kitana and Liu are both dead right now. While I do believe that they will be back to life at some point in this game that would mean NRS should just include them. Plus, we don't know if their motives have changed after death or anything else. Cage and Sonya were romantic (if only slightly) in MK9. The fact that Boon mentioned that the team thought about adding Baraka and Mileena's relationship on screen tells me that the relationship is on their mind. Both are also still alive. So I could definitely see a Baraoa/Mileena lovechild.

I would pretty much think so along with some of Liu's moves...flying kick, bicycle kick and fatal uppercut (as a move)? They could of had him prior to their deaths?

I seriously don't see two vets from MK9 having a random kid. Cassie makes perfect sense, but two others to have a kid is so random it's borderline stupid. A descendant I see could some from Nightwolf, because there's so little about his past he could have a wife and kid in his tribe. Jax possibly having a kid that's small around before Jax gets thrown into the MK mix with Sonya. Or even Bi Han, since he'd there for a moment and then killed, there's a possibility of him having a small child within the clan.
It would be way too random to say Jade, or Kitana have a kid somewhere because it's never addressed. It would be terribly story telling to have a kid of theirs show up (i'm not saying a kid together of course, just in general for either of them to have a child). This whole Baraka/Mileena and Kitana/Liu Kang is dumb. Especially since Kitana and Liu died so fast and Kitana never fucking gave birth at any point in MK9's story mode. Just my thoughts. I really hope Nightwolf has a daughter, i've got my fingers crossed hard on that being one or the only descendant of a character showing up.

Yeah not to mention Baraka was quick to nominate Mileena as the ruler of Outworld in Kahn's absence.

I just can't think of anyone else that's plausible in the procreation arena. The thought of them bringing Kitana or Kang back to life just for the sake of a descendant gives me chills (not in a good way). Unless they can really pull some J.R.R Tolkien shit that blows my mind.

There's also the possibility I've missed something in between the lines, but I literally draw a blank when I leave out Sonya/Cage, Kang/Kitana, and Baraka/Mileena. (Excluding Kham and Reptile, because has that ever been proven canon?) Maybe one of the new characters is a parent to a next gen fighter who did the baby bump with a veteran.

Have you guys considered descendants of characters that were NOT in Mk9? You know, Kai, Li Mei, veterans we haven't seen for a while having children? What about single character descendants? I have a feeling we'll be seeing a couple of those, too. The only reason everyone is assuming that every descendant will be a mixture of two different MK9 veterans is because of Cassie, but I honestly think she might be the only MK9 descendant.

So what now, kids? With Kano shown in the new Gamespro magazine, do we think he'll be the reveal at Gamescom? I'm hoping for an additional or alternative reveal.

I think we will see gameplay of him at GamesCom possibly showing his variations. Another character would also be nice.

I just want a MK4-MKD character revealed, sooner rather than later.

Everyone will feel a lot better if they go into this expecting 1 character.

I don't even think it's Kano who's going to be revealed, unless they didn't want his reveal to be a surprise by showing him in a freakin' magazine beforehand...

We will most-likely see Kano's variations at GamesCom. He won't be the only one to be there. We will probably get a MK4-D character and a new one to put the roster count to 10.

The idea of having a descendant from Nightwolf would be cool. I say (if it happens), we will be getting his son, if he had one. A daughter from him can be also sweet.

A daughter would be great, but I wouldn't want her to be "Nightwolf with boobs", hopefully they'd add a bit of individuality into her.

Since this mag reveal, I hope Kano is at Gamescom because I really need something else to sell him to me other than the low quality pics. However, I definitely do not want him to be the only one there. If he is, at least showcase this Jungle arena or some other new ones.

Also, some definite answers would be nice. Such as, what is the final roster number excluding DLC?
