Possible Future DLC / Unlockables Found? (Not confirmed)

Someone please enlighten me on this, as my friend just sent me this from a website.

There are claims going around that the same guy who found the Fujin sound file in MK9 has data-mined MKX and has found information for 3 characters not on the initial roster, including variations, for....

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Frost, Fujin and a third unknown character.


So what the fuck is data-mining? I wouldn't go as far to say they're dreaded unlockables but can anyone else confirm this? The claims are saying it came from NeoGAF and I know absolutely zilch about that site.

This is Ed Boon and NRS that's probably in there to screw with people and get their hopes up
If anyone is gonna be DLC after this it's probably anyone we've seen in Story Mode with a model.

That's Fujin, Rain, Li Mei, Sareena, Frost, or Bo Rai Cho.

I'm betting Fujin, Li Mei, and Frost at the very least.

I hope Rain ends up being included by a fan NPC vote. Then they can go around the whole "won't be dlc twice" statement. Not that their statements even mean anything clearly. The remainder I'd assume to be:

Fujin
Frost
Sareena/Sindel/Li Mei/Baraka/Smoke/Noob/Khameleon/Havik/Reiko

And sadly the remaining spot will probably go to yet another guest character. Spawn I'd assume.

Neogaf is a hated forum but its known too for leaking accurate info from insiders and leakers who post there from time to time.

Why would they have variation names for dlc characters that aren't even scheduled for release yet? Do they also have information on Tanya and Tremor variations? Characters that are actually scheduled to be in kombat pack #1. If not, I'm a little skeptical.

So this is a crazy thought but is it possible they would have an unlockable character on disc but currently barred. Maybe in a few weeks they release a patch where the character is can be unlocked? Wishful thinking, I know, but it would be cool.

That is literally all I know. I tried going through a few pages on NeoGAF but didn't see any MKX threads.

LOL i thought of the same thing, i think its actually a cool idea

it would be free so people wouldnt complain(well they would, but people are bitches) and be fun to hunt for it
