Assuming none of these are on the initial roster, I think the following certainly fit your requirements:

Johnny Cage

Sonya Blade

Liu Kang

Shang Tsung

There are some I would prefer over the ones above who could also work fine in my opinion, those being:

Mileena (Even though I think she is on initial roster)

Baraka

Noob Saibot

Smoke

Kabal (Lol I know he isn't as iconic as others, but ive always liked him a lot)

Jax is also a pretty strong candidate IMO, even if im not a huge fan and would prefer his daughter instead.

I was just thinking about this after the stream. My guess's are Johnny Cage and Sonya. It kind of makes sense. I'm sure they want to give Cassie the spotlight at launch.

If it's not them, Liu Kang HAS to be one of them.

Gonna go with Smoke and Baraka. Both fit the bill of being true classic characters but more likely than not won't make it onto the initial roster. I would have guessed Smoke and Jade but, well...we all know why Jade won't be in this game. -_-

I think you should wait until we know everyone on the main roster before making this thread, but what do I know.

I'd disagree with "deserve":

Johnny Cage: He'll make it in the base roster. He was in MK1-3 y'know.

Noob: His moveset has been picked apart by Quan and Scorpion. And Bi-Han looks to be making a comeback anyway along with Kuai.

Baraka: There's little to no news on this guy...very troubling.

Shang Tsung: This might be the one and has the highest chance of selling..if they get Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa to voice him.

I think it'll be someone from MK3, possibly Kabal, cyrax, sektor, nightwol., unless classic works for Deadly alliance and Deception, then id say its someone from those

For Klassic if they mean mk 1-3 I'd say Kabal, maybe smoke

Bo rai cho and havik. I think erron black should take both spots for the iconic guest. He gets 6 variations and 2 themed skin packs. 6 skins for every realm he's conquered. I'd hate to be outworld in mkx.

I'd really like Sindel to come back. I like the idea that she's the strongest character in the MKUniverse and I like the idea of her having story relevance again. Plus, her variations could be sick.

Me too. I have so much fun playing as her in MK9, her variations could be fantastic. And she could get a real float this time. Plus, I'm really interested to see the aftermath of her slaughtering all the good guys in the last game. Is her mind restored? How does she handle it? Yadda yadda yadda - but I seriously doubt it. She's not popular enough and her killing everyone just made her more divisive (even though I loved it )



Not sure about Liu Kang but Sonya can be seen on the living towers and as head of the Special Forces faction so while she isn't confirmed, I'd say it's more than likely she's in the initial roster.

As for me, I'd love if some post-MKT characters where the classic characters. It's been over a decade since we've seen a lot of them, surely they can be considered classic by now. But I'm guessing it's going to be popular characters from the last game that just missed the initial roster. I'm expecting characters like Kabal or Smoke.

Tough to say given that we've heard rumors about Jax, Cage, Sonya, Liu Kang, Mileena and Shang Tsung.

If any of those characters don't make the final roster, I could see any of them being DLC, with Mileena, Sonya and Shang Tsung being the most likely.

But if I had to go off the board and avoid the rumors, I'd say Baraka, Kabal, Smoke, Cyrax and Sektor become the next most likely (in that order).

Honestly, I expect it to be 3D-era characters.

Recall that Shaun Himmerick said we'd know some characters of the Kombat Pack before release, but not all and that 2 of them will be guest characters.

My prediction? They'll reveal the two guests to hype the game to the casual audience and boost sales, and the two MK characters are ones that the casual majority would not purchase otherwise (3D-era characters).

The trilogy-era characters that would be hotly requested would be sold separately because NRS may very well have more confidence in them to sell them without the mystery of a blind pack hiding their identities.

Remember when Batgirl was revealed as part of the Injustice Season Pass and people raged hard and strong on the Injustice Facebook page? I'm thinking the casual audience will buy in expecting trilogy era characters and then be hit with Fujin, Shinnok, and/or Tanya. Not that I'd complain, but people who think they'd be getting the former might feel a bit duped.

For some reason, robo-smoke or at least "smoke" has had this in the bag since I first heard about it.
