If it'll be that late, then I think it's safe to assume they're starting most, if not all, of the characters from scratch. Even though they'd still have tons of work to do on Sindel, Rain, and Baraka should they choose them, they still have the models completed which is a decent chunk of work.

I wouldn't be surprised if we only ended up getting one off of that list. Seems to me like they're really trying to step outta the box with this. One can hope, anyway.

Yeah that's pretty much the thing. I mean, look how much work went into Tanya. Not only did they overhaul her gameplay, they also overhauled her look as well.

If, and yes I do mean if, any of those remaining NPC's get released as part of KP2 then my bet is that they would be just as overhauled. Not only will their moves work in new ways to benefit from the Variation system and be re-tooled to look updated and more fresh than they were in MK9 but I wouldn't be surprised if their models were tweaked and changed a little as well. After all, if most of the assets were just lifted and copied from MK9, they would stand out among the rest of the cast and not in a good way.

I have no doubts in their capability to rebuild any one of those three with new and improved move sets/variations. They all played pretty much exactly like their MK9 iterations in story mode aside from updated effects. They'd be foolish not to make drastic changes. Certainly would not want MK9 Sindel, Baraka, or hell, even as much fun as he was, Rain all over again. If it's going to be an MK9 returnee, at least bring a new appetizer and dessert to the table with the entree.

I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but I honestly hope that if it is Baraka, it's an updated design. I dig the new face horns and all, but that outfit is just extremely bland to me.

Agreed. The face and body model looks amazing and really fucking creepy if you look at it long enough. Definitely the freakiest he's ever looked, in a good way. But the outfit is just meh. I wouldn't mind an updated Deception look with bones and stuff instead of ropes.

You guys are crazy he looks great, No way they'd run it back to his MK9 or Deception look. That'd be throwing away a great design. The Armor and colors are reminiscent of his MKvsDC outfit and the ropes look great on him. I don't want the MK2 look back and I was never fond of the Deception look (the best thing I can say about it is I hated MKGold look more)

The only thing that I don't like are his tiny orange eyes. Also makes him look like he's got a Tarkatan version of Cataracts.


I hope they go with the Koncept version where he has the creepy Black eyes.

Probably but I don't fuckin care it looks rad. At least throw that in for a Variation change...Orange, No Pupils for Variationless/Black, Red Pupils/Black, No Pupils/Orange, Pupils.

I dunno. It could grow on me I guess, but I still don't see anything spectacular. Deception's was my favorite simply because of the spinal shoulder straps. If they incorporated that or something with a more "savage" feel to it, I'd be all for it.

Also (and I know I'm being picky at this point), I'm not a big fan of the new blade design. Not a huge deal per se, but still like the original, sleek, 3ft long straight blades.

I still won't mind Baraka if they keep him as is looks wise, since I'm a fan and all. These are just some unappealing aesthetics for me personally.

Baraka`s MK Gold costume, the famous stapled chest, would be great, with the MK4G outfits for Kung Lao & Quan Chi.

The story about Kung Lao bifricating him would make sense if he tried to join with the revenants, and Kung Lao rejected him...
