The music was set well to the violence. Get off Khalifa's Dick! I don't even like rap but it was alright. The Costumes remind me a bit of Vincent Proce's more realistic take on the two. Definitely the best costumes so far IMO.

Those aren't big names and they're not even metal. Nice job being some musical elitist in such a context

Who cares about the music. Not like it's gonna be the official theme song

It's a type of metal, and they are big names. (where did I come off as trying to be a music elitist?) That's besides the point, all I'm saying is I'd rather listen to a sweet guitar riff instead. It's no big deal anything, like I've said I loved the trailer. It's only the first of many and I'm excited for E3.

"Metal! Much better than SOME rapper!" Goofy attitude when commenting on a casual trailer

Especially considering MK's theme is some disco dance techno stuff or whatever
I watched it like 10 times, cant find any little hidden secrets, if anyone spots anything make sure to share!

HOLY. SHIT.

That was fantastic!!!

Those character designs!! The X-rays! The violence! The speed!!

I can understand why everyone is upset about the music, but think about what it means. It means WB is putting fucking MONEY behind this game to license out a huge rapper to commission the theme song for the game.

Also betting money that the game is Next-Gen only. That CG trailer was too detailed and too crisp and sexy for the game to not look on par. Games don't come out with fancy CG trailers these days that aren't on par with the actual graphics of the game, not like the old days. Arkham Knight (also WB) had an insane CG teaser trailer and the game graphics are nearly right on par with those that were in the initial trailer.

Also, I am wondering if this is another reboot of sorts. Maybe since this is the 10th MK, MKX, and it's kinda milestone, it's just going to be the mother of all MK games, kinda like MKA tried to be. Rather than a continuation of the last game, maybe it's a "best of" type of thing. All the faves, all the epic stages, all the gameplay you could ask for. Story is the only thing confusing me now.

This is going to be fantastic.

Pretty nice trailer! Definitely excited to see more over the course of E3. I really liked seeing what Sub-Zero and Scorpion look like this time around as well as what seems like interactive environments and x-rays. And I think Sub-Zero and Scorpion might've showcased new moves or different variations of existing moves which is cool to see too.

Personally if I was going to put music to MK I'd choose Tool. Danny Carey's drums in the background of an epic MK fight would really set the tone.

Well when you put emphasis on those words then yeah it does come off that way. It's no big deal man, relax. Some of us didn't like the music, it's not that bad, the beat was nice. I just didn't think it fit to well, IMO. Can we just be friends again and speculate for E3?

I highly doubt there would be anything hidden in an MK announcement trailer. Not when E3 is around the corner. Maybe then, IF they release another trailer which I don't think they will. I think this is just purely to shove MKX in your face and let you know that its real and its happening. No surprises, no hidden stuff, just Sub and Scorp duking it out. Simple. And I like it.

Well, Sub-Zero's eyes darkening down as the fight ended makes it seem he's still a cyborg.

Anyways, I'm pumped, and I'm glad they brought a lot of MK Legacy elements into the game.

We can see the new designs for Sub and Scorpion and Sub is apparently human, and obviously X-Rays are returning. Other than that, can't make much of it, but we're not supposed to. This trailer wasn't for hardcore fans or anything, we need to understand that. It was a cool trailer.

This.

Personally, I loved the look, the mood, and even the music to an extent and I'm not a fan. It all felt more subdued, but eerie and dark. The level looked frickin amazing, but having said all of that, it's just the announce trailer to show the world that MK's back and I for one couldn't be happier.

Bring on E3!!

You'd think someone would have said something after all the Adema crap twelve years ago with Deadly Alliance. Maybe someone did. But noooo. Marketers gonna market.

Seriously. I'd throw the blame for the song squarely at their marketing division. There's this terrible trend of placing ill-fitting music into game trailers and games now because the artist is popular, and you gotta appeal to the kids. :/

Puscifier in Transformers: War for Cybertron. Depeche Mode in Injustice. I mean, I love me some Depeche Mode but that was so corny and ill-fitting I laughed.

It won't be in game, at any rate. Have faith; they know their stuff better than that.

Well damn . . . at least 2015 gives me plenty of time to responsibly save for a next gen console.

Scorp and Sub designs looked amazing. I hope the graphic style and character damage is indicative of what we will see in the gameplay. I like the idea of zooming in on the finish him mark and aftermath of the fatality.

Hard to tell what in the trailer was for fancy fighting and what was hints at gameplay elements. X-rays are a given, but I wonder about the environment interactions, weapons, bone breakers, and running.

Character wise I'm hoping for like 45% returning from MK9, 40% debut from MK4-Deception, and 15% new characters.

I said this in the poster thread but, maybe there's a possibility of having interactive environments? They showed Sub-zero not only using a branch as a ice weapon but also swinging from a branch as well.

Maybe we get that?

I could see them adding it in since it worked in Injustice.

Apart from the music, that was an awesome trailer. I hope the art style and general feel of this trailer carries over into the actual game. I find it very hard to believe this is in-game/engine, as this looks a lot like the CG trailers for MK9, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I guess we'll have to wait till E3.

I will say, I think Sub-Zero and Scorpion look great. I hope the tone of the trailer(sans rap), is carried on into the game itself. The environment and the character designs, are exactly what I've been hoping for. MK9 was fantastic though, so it's not as if I wasn't pleased before. I just felt it could be a little bit grittier/darker in tone. This teaser nailed it in that aspect.

As for the music, not a big deal. I loved the beginning beats as Sub-Zero is revealed. I liked the beat of the music overall, I think it's just the vocals and lyrics I didn't care to hear. Could have gotten away with just the rhythm for more effect. However, it's about marketing. They got a big name, so they want to market this like any other AAA title. I'm completely ok with that. I don't need to like rap to see the bigger picture here. Just like with MK9 and Injustice, we 're getting another well marketed/advertised game with a decent budget. :)

Words cannot even express how mixed my opinion is. The trailer implied interactive stages, which I really wanted to keep out of Mortal Kombat and remain in Injustice. Plus... just Scoprion and Subzero? No other characters? Although I enjoy their new designs. Especially Scorpion's. Oh and the snowey forest is hopefully an arena. It was very dark and eerie. I was also hoping to see some hint at a villain or story and some actual gameplay. But. We have a ways to go until launch, and I'm sure I will see more come E3.

No doubt. They'll take what Injustice had and modify it to better fit the MK universe. No slamming cars on each other, but I can definitely see swinging from tree branches, swinging around street signs, and maybe even environmental weapon pickups similar to MK4
