Anyway What would you guys name him instead of Triborg? I'm calling him Tekunin in protest of that stupid name and because I think it suits him better than Triborg. Fuck sake he sounds like a cheap action figure from the 90's.

But why the hell there isn't Cyber Zero ????

His waiting so long to activate could be something similar to Smoke in the original timeline, somebody could have found him years later and activated him, or Sektor could have intentionally hid it where nobody would find it and specifically programmed it to activate many years later. He also could have specifically designed it with the ability to download and absorb tech from other LK units in case something were to happen to himself.

Him getting Smoke's cyber design could be from him managing to find and download the original plans for Smoke's automation. We know they were planning on turning him in MK9 as well, and its possible they had a specific design and tech for him in mind due to his unique abilities, Triborg could have found or accessed these plans and downloaded it to himself.

I wouldn't hold my breathe though, sometimes I think we (The fans) put more thought into this stuff than NRS does a lot of the time lol but its still fun to talk/speculate about.

It doesn't make sense that he would have just had the plans for cyber smoke stored somewhere because that wouldn't give triborg smokes powers because they are unique to smoke him. Like the way only cyber sub zero can freeze people and not all the cyborgs can.

Perhaps it's is another noob/smoke alliance? Noob captured enera smoke turned him into a cyborg and sent him to infiltrate the Lin kuie and steal sektors head so that he has all the Lin kuies secrets and is planning on taking them down in MK11!!! This would set up an ultimate showdown between the two sub zero brothers..............

Nah he's probably just made up to look cool and make money and has no deeper story involvement or relevance at all. The next game smoke will be human

I think the most logical thing would be Sektor having some sort of contingency plan set in motion where if a certain period of time passed and he didn't do something, this cyborg would activate in case anything happened to him. The cyborg maybe comes with pre-installed data about Cyrax and what they were going to do to Smoke originally and they go to collect whats left of Sektor and upload that as well, thus Tri-Borg is born.

It could be possible that it somehow has the ability to replicate those powers with technology, you know, with some kind of microscopic vapor infused nanotech or something crazy like that lol

Though what Kenshi said is pretty much what I am expecting it to be, its what first came to my mind after viewing the trailer.

Throwing my two cents.

Triborg was just a unnamed lin kuei assassin jaelous of his best four comrades that overshadowed him all the time.

He planned a vengeance against them and subdued the cyber enhancement.
But he is fucked up by destiny. Somewhat Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke were killed BEFORE he could kill them off. And he is butthurt amnd salt as hell.
So he uploads the fighting data of Sektor, cyrax and Smoke into his cyber-body and then went on hunting down Sub-Zero, the only one left alive.

In his non canon ending he kills Sub-Zero amd then adds his moveset to his own memory, but then a battle for supremacy begins because, by accident, he uploaded their personalities too.

I want 100$ if I guess that.

Tekunin is one of those things where I'm curious to see what the Variationless Form is and what it has.

If It's going to be "Remember MK3" The Moveset it needs:

Sektor: Cancel-able Teleport Uppercut, Flamethrower and a Straight Missile (MB: Homing)
Cyrax: Bombs, Nets, Buzzsaw Strings and a Exploding Teleport.
Smoke: Smokeycut, His Tombstone Teleport, His Harpoon but different than the spear or Takeda's Cord.

And a Compactor Fatality.

It needs all of this.

HE IS A BRAND NEW CYBORG.

That was already confirmed by Briand Chard Writer, sound designer and VO director for Netherrealm Studios.

He could become a cannon character. But basicaly, he is a normal cyborg, like the ones we see in MK9, with the ability to obtain other cyborg characteristics/powers.

This could be a way to resurect eather Sektor or Cyrax in a next game and im shure some of his intros maybe will tease this posibility.

DLC is not cannon why get upset about it? It won't change anything by bitching about it. I'm happy that were getting 6 characters instead of 4. Most everyone only uses their favorite variation anyway.

Ah I misread the tweet from chard I thought that triborg was going to be canon which actually made me interested in him but now that he is not then I couldn't give a shit about him just like the rest of the pack. So this pack is a complete waste of time, no good charcaters and no story progression what so ever. Bo rai Cho is the only real character and he sucks. Even his ending will probably be something retarded and non-canon like he goes onto to be the Fart champion of the realms or something.


What a waste of time NRS should have just started working on the next game I hope they make no money off this shitty shitty pack and really lift their game for the next MK in 4 years

I could actually somewhat get behind if they made this a completely new cannon cyborg character, with his own story/bio, even if his premise is he downloads the other cyber robotos abilities, etc. like a chameleon type.

But if he is just a non cannon throwaway because NRS is lazy to fully flesh out Sektor or Cyrax, then no thanks.

I can only imagine what Tri-Borg's fatalities will be like with a mixture of Cyrax, Smoke and Sektor. I think he is a cool character yes he is a little gimmicky but a very interesting idea choice. I have been wanting a character like this since I was a kid. I know people might hate me for this but I like Tri-Borg.

With his own intros, and
Has an explanation, but doesn't know if it'll become canon.

Personally, I hope he becomes a canon inclusion.

He might his own kharacter in a sense that hes non of three original cyborgs , but he might be a returning kharacter whos been cyberised.

Yeah, I'd prefer him to be a new canon character (stupid name though he may have) than just a throwaway non-canon husk to facilitate the inclusion of the other cyborgs' movesets.

I can mostly accept him as such since we already have similar characters for the other ninjas in Chameleon and Khameleon. He sort of completes the set in that respect.

And like them, I'm assuming he's a weird novelty that won't last more than a single game. Especially if the variation concept doesn't last beyond this game. Unless they someday do another all-in roster. And if that roster DOESN'T have variations to support his current playstyle, I assume they'll just make him function like the 'meleons did in MKA, and use a handful of moves from the rest.

The trailer made it clear that Sektor is involved. Brian Chard also confirmed that the third cyborg is Smoke, though it may not be canon.

I don't know why people are complaining about his name considering we have;

- 3 ice powered ninjas called Sub-Zero, Tundra and Frost.

- A lizard man named Reptile.

- A chick who wears green called Jade.

- A smoke powered ninja called Smoke.

- A fire monster called Blaze.

- A dude who has earth based powers called Tremor.

The naming conventions in MK have always been a little cringe-worthy. But that's part of it's charm imo.

Either Tri-Borg is purely a robotic entity who was built to incorporate the abilities of 3 cyborgs, or he was formerly human with a real human name who picked up the moniker of Tri-Borg after assimilating the 3 cyborgs, either way the name fits.
