And Rain could totally have that Silver Surfer thing going on underneath because I think that because Netherrealm Studios can't be smart in making good choices for character costumes, they should totally like listen to me because I know everything and such.

Well platinum is still better than copper. I think rain should either be in purple and gold coloured costume or purple and silver but both without black. It looks more elegant without black. And why does all ninjas need to have black in their costume such as ermac, subzero, scorpion, smoke, rain, I can understand noob. Seriously change up colours. Make ermac white and red so its like England flag and Denmark flag.

It's kinda just a tad bit hard to respect a character who was born out of an homage to Purple Rain by the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

Gods are not royalty and Rain's ACTUAL JOB is assassin, he sneaks around and kills people for Shao Kahn, which is why he dresses in black with a mask like a ninja.

Rain is not a prince, Ed Boon just wants him to think he's a prince. There has been no irrefutable proof that Rain is royalty other than him just all of a sudden saying "I'm a Prince", and that doesn't count because he doesn't elaborate on WHY he says he's a prince.........Other than the fact that he's a vain, arrogant ass clown who doesn't give two shits about anything or anyone but himself.

So what if he is assassin. There are white ninjas too. Famous ones too like shinobi. I think ninjas can be differentiated further by having some of ninjas having white in their costume. So ermac, subzero, and smoke would have white in their costume. So ermac looks like the England flag and Denmark flag and subzero looks like Scotland flag. Smokes grey would go with white. Grey with white works too. I see guys wearing grey blazers and white T-shirt or shirt to the klub, (I bought this too for klub wear). Grey with black works too. I see people wear black jacket with grey baggy tracksuits to gym. And then u can have reptile with white and green like Saudi Arabian flag and Pakistani flag. The smartest ninja in real life didn't wear black, they were navy blue.

The reason why subzero and scorpion should work as a team is because they both have Sweden's flag colour, yellow and blue. Sweden is a neutral country in both of previous world wars. So if subzero and scorpion became allies, they should have blue and yellow. Rain should be with silver. Because he is best looking ninja. And so if he has supermodel looks. He should dress like a superstar model. Purple and silver baby.

What saddens me is that you have this thread titled "character development" when the only thing you're whining about are his looks.. and you're a Mortal Kombat fan... I think. Not a single thing in this thread has you talking about having Rain become a better character. You instead want to care about fashion, which none of us are remotely interested in. I suggest you should change the title of this thread to "how to make Rain look more girly and potentially wear a purse," since you're the only one in here whining about fashion... AGAIN.

Everyone here doesn't agree with changing his looks. His appearance is fine and doesn't need a girly touch up with an "elegant" look. He's not a prince, he's a betrayer and a commander of Kahn's armies. Nothing about a commander at all tells me that they need to look elegant whatsoever.

The only thing that they should consider changing Rain is his story to make him have a significant role. I thought he had a good one back in Armageddon in a way, but since they clearly made him DLC, he didn't get that much of a chance. I'm not that big of a Rain fan, in fact I'm not one, but hey, I could pull off a Milaana and do a 180 of me liking him instead due to some random, silly reason.

(Milaana was an old user here who did NOT like Smoke at all and when users saw what he would look like in 2011, she began liking him since many people did not like what they saw for Smoke and began being a totally idiot about it)

Haha I'm not asking for a makeover, I'm asking for neat colour changes. Water taps are silver. So rain should be silver too because he has water powers. So shouldn't his costume be silver like running taps? I have tried to give rain a story which involves a love triangle. This can be mingled with him being a traitor. Best romance films involved love triangles such as titanic, Romeo and Juliet. So mk would benefit with a love triangle although mortal combat isn't about love, that's where the traitor of edenia part comes into play.

Titanic and Romeo & Juliet....Yeah, those are DEFINITELY love stories you want in a game series notoriously known for death.

Rain is not a character that is built for love. Love has no meaning in a game filled with death, gore, and decapitation.

And the greatest love story I've seen has been Gone with the Wind. That shit has some powerful stuff, not some... sunken ship tragedy.

I liked what NetherRealm did for his character even know he was DLC, with the whole betrayer thing that he has been rocking since UMK3. As long as they do what they did with him in Armageddon & just expand on it more, Rain would become much more important character.

He's still underdeveloped somewhat as a character. He's Edenian, betrayed his realm, works for Kahn, now what?

But he is the warrior formerly known as royalty.

So he is royalty after all. I still think he should be silver like a tap.



Love triangle?

Grime was joking. See, Rain is named after a song by a dude NAMED Prince. And Prince, for a while, called himself "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince". So Grime called Rain...ahh, forget it.

Who knows, maybe have some form of alliance with Quan Chi and Shinnok now that Edenia has no leader?

If possible, Mileena could go after Edenia, that is if she knows about the realm since she's got a mind of a child right now, she could be the next leader... or fight for the right as leader maybe with Baraka by her side. She and Rain could form a feud for the right to lead Edenia.

Could be a weird story. It could or could not happen... only the next game will tell.

Rain + Mileena. No! Rain + Kitana. Yes! Or maybe Rain + Tanya. Or even Rain + Frost. See Rain would go with nearly all ninja females. That's why a love triangle can work involving Rain.

I think MK10's planned plot will likely go smoother if Edenia isn't even separate from Outworld yet, since no one freed it during MK9, and Shinnok's plan is to attack "Earthrealm and Outworld", not "Earthrealm, Outworld, and maybe a third place too".

So Rain could easily have a story of either trying to free Edenia so he can rule it himself (since, y'know, Sindel and Kitana are dead), if he's not simply allied with one of the Outworld factions or siding with Shinnok.

I think Chameleon should not exist as a separate entity, but I think he should be fused with Rain. So then we get like a Neon Rain. Neon Rain would be cooler than Rain because since Rain is half-god, he should be able to change the colour of Rain as he pleases like Chameleon. Maybe Rain's name should be changed to Reon. Reon means King Descendant Of The King and since Rain is royalty, wink wink. Everything to do with Chameleon should be fused with Rain except being from planet Zettera or whatever (same origin as Khamelen).
