Rain is a douchenozzle whose Demi-God status has deluded him into thinking he's royalty. Mortal Kombat's resident Ronin Kenshi is said to be descended from Warrior Kings. Therefore, Kenshi is more of a prince than Rain will ever be.

But this has not been written in stone. Thats the point of this thread is to throw up ssome ideas and nrs to juggle with them. Rain being a prince or being royalty, nrs can make it happen. Some people live for the future, some people live in the now. Rain can live for the future where he becomes a royal prince. It can work.

Yes it fucking has. Rain's backstory, which is the same in both Armageddon and MK9, IS concrete canon.
And the only way to be a "prince" is to be the SON of a king or queen. Since Rain's father is not a king, and his mother is not a queen, that means if Rain were to make himself into royalty by conquering a kingdom, he wouldn't be a fucking prince, he'd be THE KING. What kind of person doesn't know this? Seriously?! You're from England, aren't you? They have actual princes and a queen there, you should know how monarchies work!

Right now, about the only feasible way I can think of for Rain to actually be a prince is that Sindel was his mother, and I highly doubt that. I mean, the woman obviously couldn't bear the thought of being the trophy wife of the warlord who smashed her husband's skull in with his hammer, and thereby proceeded to kill herself, inadvertently leaving her only daughter to be raised by said warlord to be his personal assassin....So yeah, I highly doubt she would cheat on Jerrod. Then again, with how stupid and out of character virtually everyone but Quan Chi is written as nowadays, who knows. I mean, unless there was ANOTHER queen before Sindel, Rain is obviously full of crap and just wants to boot his already douchey ego. He's just a party man who wants to party like nobody can.

I obviously agree that Sindel cheating on Jerrod is an impossibility given their established characters. Also, it would make him Kitana's brother, which is just creepy what with them being love interests in the cartoon.
If Rain's mom were a queen who ruled before Sindel, then Rain would have been an adult when Kahn took over Edenia. But his backstory from Trilogy makes him about the same age as Kitana, he was a little kid when Edenia was conquered, too young to remember stuff, which is why he's always finding out his origins from other people.
So Rain will never be a prince.
But he might know what it sounds like when doves cry. That much, I can neither confirm nor deny.

What if Rain was married to Princess Kitana and although Prince's don't get their title of Prince that way in real life. We can say Rain was offerred the title Prince.

Kitana's dead at the moment. And so are both of her parents and her stepdad.

And there is no Edenia, it's still merged with Outworld.

If she does come back to life, and Kahn doesn't, her claim to the throne will be as QUEEN of Outworld. If Edenia is brought back, and Kitana comes back but Sindel doesn't, her title will be QUEEN of Edenia.

Granted, they probably won't leave Sindel dead.

Even so, Kitana would never willingly marry Rain, she's good and he's an evil traitor. And I kinda doubt Quan Chi is going to use his mind control to make one of his undead slaves marry somebody, particularly somebody who doesn't even work for him.

Besides, who the hell wants to be a prince, anyway? Being King is where it's at.

Why do people insist being a princess/prince when you can be a Queen/King and actually BE something?

I guess it's all those fairy tails that make it look like if you're higher than a prince/princess, you're considered an evil, vile creature.

Rain is not king material. I think rain being a prince can work one way or another. It coukd be someone who came from a altered universe (different tineline) and inforns rain that in the other timeline he is a prince.

Yeah, because a Prince is totally a more badass title than King.

There is a song called rain king and a novel called henderson the rain king. Rain is half-god, that is more important to him than being a king. He can be like a king and rule certain things but he dont need title king.

Because if Rain was to actually rule Edenia, he wouldn't be a prince, he'd be a king because Kitana's dead, Sindel is dead, Kahn is dead... if he'd be the person to actually rule Edenia, he'd be a king, not a prince. That's how royalty works. Every person in this world should know, trolling or not, if you don't know how kings and princes work, you obviously never went to school, saw a Disney movie, and lived underneath a rock. I mean... this is just stupid.

But then again, it seems that you really have no idea what his character is. I may make mistakes every now and then about something of a character, but at least I know that you have absolutely no idea about Rain. He's a character based on a joke that obviously went straight over your head, whether or not your posts are remotely serious. But, coming from you, I don't think so, but if you are, then this post is totally worth the length that it is.

Here's the thing about how kings/queens and princes/princesses work. And I feel inclined to teach you because I don't think you get it and you think we're not getting the picture when we all obviously do. Trolling or not, still, it seems that you're not smart enough to understand how kings and princes are defined. I'll use England's ruler as an example and explain things in a way where even a three-year-old can understand:

Queen Elizabeth isn't a princess, she's a queen, she's in charge of England. Had Princess Di lived, she and Charles would be the next king and queen of England when Elizabeth passes her title to them.

And if Elizabeth is smart, she'd pass her own kin and take Prince William as the next heir. He wouldn't be a prince anymore when she passes her title, he'd be a king.

If they wanted to make Rain royalty they would have done it inmk9. I think NRS have other plans for him rather than being royalty.so they made him a half-god instead. The thing about kings is they have a reign then it ends when they die. Rain is half-god he cant die.

There are jokes with Rain wearing a cape. If he was King, that's what he would wear. I say don't make Rain a King or Prince. But maybe someone from another timeline says to Rain, in our world u are a Prince.

Well obviously, since they made him a Demi-God in Armageddon 7 years ago.

I just had an idea. Instead of making Rain a watery beast, how about just his arms and hands become watery. Sub-zero had ice arms and hands but that look no longer goes on him. So why not make Rain like that but watery (not ice)
