Overall, I was pretty surprised with Shujinkydink, he turned out much more "controversial" than I expected. Quite a surprise. I was hoping he'd talk a bit about Stryker, but it didn't happen unfortunately. Overall, another good podcast, but from part 13 onwards I started to struggle a bit with my concentration as there wasn't much MK discussion there.

Btw, have you guys listened to episode 8? I was quite surprised with Shujinkydink (posted my notes in the post above), he said some pretty interesting stuff.

I understand that criticism. It is a shame we had on an expert with Quan Chi and Stryker and failed to go in depth with those characters.

It's hard to please everybody. Some like the MK gameplay talk, some like the player drama, some like the off topic nonsense. We just let the conversation flow naturally and whatever happens happens. The Pig show is heavily about MK.

Next week is Foxy and Used For Glue.


BTW we saw your suggestion of describing each part. We agree it makes sense but none of us go back and listen to it. K7 said if a volunteer sent him the descriptions he'd edit them in.

Overall, one of my fave podcasts so far, so much MK discussion. I especially enjoyed listening about Final Round, it's looking to be really huge with all the big names coming. Considering how much everyone has leveled up since Evo and how much various characters evolved, I'm super hyped for this tourney. The army of Kitana players going there makes it extra exciting for me.

Regarding the tourney format, as a stream monster and out of pure selfish reasons, I'd prefer if all of it was played on Sunday. I'd like to see live as many pool matches as possible. I'd go out on Friday night carelessly and then on Sunday I'd just tune in to the stream and let it play on my PC all day long.

UsedForGlue is the only one of the known high level Euro players I have ever played against online. He bodied my Kitty with Sektor and Mileena lol.




Hmmm... Doesn't he have a time display as he's recording? If every part is cca. 10 mins long then he could write separate notes for every 10 min interval. The only problem could be if he cuts out some parts after the recording as that would desync the notes and time intervals.

I don't think K7 looks at the time as he's recording. I'm also not sure how much editing he does. We're super unprofessional and ignorant lol. You should PM K7 about it, he knows more about this than I do.

Great episode! Pig was an awesome guest and the conversation had a nice flow to it. 16-bit's Obama rant was as fucking hilarious as it was poignant and I'm glad he put the "secret tech bullshit" in character discussion forums on blast.

I too agree with Neph that the show could benefit from some better production quality or at least some better organization. You guys get some diverse/talented guests on the show but often the conversation doesnt always get into MK character specific segments. Also, I'm surprised you dont have a segment devoted to fan write-in type of Q&A through tweets, emails, or whatever. It doesn't have to be real-time Q&A, just emails handpicked by you guys the week leading up to the show.

Regardless, I'm glad you guys are out there doing this podcast. Final Round is going to be so hype! What's the best method of PM'ing K7 in regards to the show?

Well, it's kind of uncertain if they'll go to Evo this year. Hopefully they both go as well as the Greek guys. I'd love to see at least one European player make the Top 8.

F0xy didn't end up any more controversial than any of the previous guests, but that's cool. I do think the guests were underestimating those US players that don't make the Top 8 at majors and the general level of competition in the US.

I have a topic suggestion for the next podcast. I would love to hear a bit more about Evo2012 and the predictions for the tourney. For example, with all the changes that Kung Lao went through, do you see someone playing as Kung Lao win the title again? Which characters would you call the "dark horses" for this year's championship? Mileena was the surprise last year, maybe Sektor or someone else who is still pretty much "in the dark" surprises at Evo2012? Now that the DLC characters are allowed, what are their chances? And finally, when you look at players that made the Top 8 last year, who would you pick to make the Top 8 two years in a row and what new names do you expect to see there?

You know, now that MK has been announced for Evo2012, I'd love to hear more about it. Predictions, expectations, new names to look out for (both, players & characters) and stuff like that. I think everyone would enjoy that.

Awesome show (only halfway through at the moment)! I like K7's idea of fund raising on some sites to get some of the UK guys over here. I'd gladly put down some (modest) loot if it helps the MK scene thrive. I reckon you could find others who share the sentiment.

I love the political portion, I'm pro seeing this discussed in addition to Mortal Kombat and other things..it keeps the show interesting and fresh seeing you guys tackle a wide array of topics. the fluidity and pacing is great, it's like a random convo with friends at a coffee shop, great stuff.

My fave part was listening to their thoughts about the more "obscure" MK games, like MK4 (K7 liked Fujin, HELL YEAH!) and MKM:SZ and how emotionally attached they are to the characters they play. I guess I'm very attached as I was very sad to see Kitana die in MK9's story mode. It's actually not so much the scene itself as it is the NRS' decision to kill her, that's what disappointed me. Also, everything "Kitana & Liu Kang" annoys me, can't stand their "romance".


As for the brief discussion on who's the best MK player at the moment, my list would be:

1. Perfect Legend & CD Jr. (tie)
3. REO

Those 3 are my clear Top 3 and then there are many other players worthy of Top5. I wouldn't have JOP in Top5, success (3rd place) at 1 tournament is not enough for me, even though it's Evo.

I would have the national rankings decided by performances at majors over a twelve month period. Basically, like the ATP ranking system works in tennis. Say you win a tournament in May and it gives you 200 pts. Next year you place 5th (50 pts) at the same tournament- you'll lose the 200 pts from the previous year and be added 50 pts for the current year and your ranking gets accordingly adjusted.
