It's a battlecry that continues to echo through the annals of gaming history. The bellowing shout of "Mortal Kombat" was originally meant to gather fans around home console ports released on the first Mortal Monday, but its subsequent use in music and promotion has taken on a life of its own. Now after almost thirty years the man behind the shout has allegedly been discovered!

The Mortal Kombat promos are coming thick and fast as the countdown to April 16th draws near! Some countries may be fortunate enough to see the movie a little sooner when the "great war" unlocks fighters' super power within. Watch:

Christopher Lambert, who famously portrayed Lord Rayden, God of Thunder and Lightning in the first Mortal Kombat film in 1995, has once again been re-united with the franchise! In a commercial for Mortal Kombat 11 that aired exclusively in French-speaking countries, he was depicted playing against another player—as Raiden, of course—and winning! The TV spot for MK: Shaolin Monks in the U.K. is out, and the folks responsible for it - Maverick Media - has posted it on their website. It involves a bunch of CEO's at some business meeting, when all of a sudden the President has them fighting each other and doing Fatalities, and even takes off his own hat and does a Fatality himself! This time, Cinder has posted two koncept drawings. The first is a color drawing of one of the two title characters, Kung Lao! The other is a koncept drawing of the Outworld female assassin, Mileena!
