I think that this will be the same game that was released for PS2. Still you cant fight with Smoke in MK2, or the strange but with musics.

Hmm....I've checked Midway's site and they mentioned only MK2 and MK3 is present no, MK1. Also multiplayer WON'T be available.

Why is it so hard to put UMK3 on these compilations?? or are they saving it for MAT4??

If there's a MAT4 ,then UMK3 would be by far the best on the collection .

It must be since UMK3 used the same hardware as MK3 it probably wouldn't be any harder to actually include. And storage on the disk wouldn't be a concern.

Personally, I think they are just being bastards.

Who knows? They have plenty of games that they could use. Off the top of my head:

-The UPGRADED version of Primal Rage (that actually has Blizzard's snow breath, and other things)

-Cruis'n Exotica
-Arctic Thunder*
-CART Fury*
-CarnEvil
-The Grid

*Means Eclipse could use an existing port, like they did in MAT3 with Hydro Thunder.

Problem is, a lot of the games I mentioned would be processor-intensive and/or require a custom control scheme. Not to mention they would be hard to emulate efficiently. In the case of CART Fury, Midway would need to dole out some money for licensing the CART name - not to mention the drivers' likenesses.

Still, that's nearly a dozen games that they could stick on a future collection.

I wonder if Midway even realizes MK3 is not the final version. I know it's obvious to anyone into the series but think of how clueless Midway has been in the past. Think of how they show screens of MKT in the previews and had the UMK3 actors listed in the credits in MAT 2. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just don't know the difference between MK3 and UMK3.

Oh, they do know the difference but only God knows what thier plans are.
I personally think there will be another MAT.

PS: About the upcoming PC release. I hope there will be some serious anti piracy technology in this CD ,i dont want to see it on P2P the next day after the release.
Lets hope it wll sell and Midway will reconsider the PC market for a few releases..who knows maybe one day well have MKDA and MKD in a collection for PC..anything is possible.

But knowing Midway, they'll probably rush Digital Eclipse through the emulations of the MK games, bring us the same crap as usual(just like they did with MAT 2, and on the PSP version) and people will still buy it(I do give them credit for MK2 on MAT2, however.). At least companies like Capcom & Namco were wise not to rush DE through their compilations(Namco Museum:50th anniversary, Battle Collection, and Capcom Classics Collection), and the emulations on their games were flawless(or near flawless at that).
