I think it's pretty much unanimous that everyone thinks Quan Chi's fatality completely sucks, and I am inclined to agree. And it pisses me off because Quan Chi is one of my favorite characters, but they had to give him one of the worst fatalities in the game, if not MK history.
Now, my question is: If you guys were in charge of coming up with MKDA's fatality concepts, what would you have given Quan Chi instead?
I've thought of two. One, I've posted a few times on the MK6 board: Quan Chi steps behind the opponent, reaches around their head, and gauges his fingers into their eyes. They scream in pain, and when Quan pulls his fingers out the opponent is screaming and staggering around, while green light and smoke pours from their eye sockets and wierd noises are heard. The opponent's flesh then melts into a green puddle of slime.
The other was somewhat inspired by one of the pictures of the fight between Scorpion and Quan Chi shown in an ad that is unlocked in the Krypt. The picture shows Quan Chi holding Scorpion by the throat and lifting him up. For the second fatality, Quan holds up the opponent in the same manner, and green beams of light come out of the fingers on his other hand and shoot into the opponent's eyes. The eyes explode and blood pours from the sockets, then the body is enveloped in green mist, and explodes.
Any other ideas?

I think his fatality should involve his green skull.
Shall I say "classic" leg rip..
It is one of my favorites because it is funny. If a fatal is funny while trying to look serious, then it is good in my book. Let me clarify that, Im not trying to sound stupid, but, funny like how your opponent hops around after the arm rip fatality by Jax is kind of funny to me.
But anyways, I completely agree with the MK team on focusing on gameplay rather then fatalities, and I think it paid off. It seems like Quan's fatality was a statement that they didnt spend much time on fatalities.

His leg beatup was so brutal, probably one of my all-time favourites. And it's so typically Quan Chi, too. I like how Tsung and Quan differ in their style of evil; former is a real snake, charming if he can, brutal if he must. Quan Chi is more a business type of guy, shoot first and then ask questions: a power-mad brute.
But ANYWAY ;), his fatalities... I mentioned his leg beat already. Perhaps another one involving the amulet or his powers as a necromancer? While he's supposed to be a necromancer, as far as we know Tsung resurrected more people than Quan already!
Peace,

Had he just pulled off the guys head and thrown it on the ground the fatality would have been ok.

I think Quan Chi's fatality in MK:DA should've been like, he grabs them by both sides of their head and twists their head around 3 or 4 times and you hear their neck cracking, snapping, and breaking, then he pulls up on their head and pulls their head right off and throws it on the ground. And for a little something extra, maybe stomp one time on the head so hard after he throws it on the ground that the head crushes.
Or if Quan Chi happens to be in MK6, then they should put that as his fatality in there.

i would made it where he would run around on walls then kick him in the head!!! matrixality!!!
:-p
:-p
His "leg rip and whack" fatality was I think the most original fatality in MK4. I would have loved it if they maintained that fatality instead of the one one they put in MKDA. Even his 2nd MK4 fatality, where he "rips off" the opponents' 2nd fatalities was nice to perform. It was cool cause after every match Quan Chi would actually perform a different fatality!

Bah! Forget Quan's MK4 leg rip! Didn't you all see Baraka's ending in MK Gold? Remember how Quan Chi Immobilised him with his sorcery? Then blasted him into pieces of rubbish? Now that, I wanted to see in MKDA.

how about putting the opponent up against the wall and stabbing them with one sword while grabbing them by the throat and lifting themup against the wall and gutting them from top of his or her throat to the bottom and then letting them go all the while they are spitting blood and gurgling and screaming in agony, once he lets them go they attempt to walk a few steps untill the body finaly gives up and spilts down the middle and collapses on the floor while they still grugle and spit blood while oozing organs and blood from the rest of their body as well.

Well I've got a couple, firstly I'd like to see a Green Skull fatality.
The opponent staggers and quan chi waves his hands in circular motions as green energy swirls around his hands. He then unleashes the skull on the opponent and it flies towards the opponent (camera from opponents view) and they see the skull coming at them, the camera then changes to a side view as you see the skull open it's mouth, and bite the opponents head off. You then see the skull come at the camera with the opponents head in it's mouth. It then explodes on the camera leaving blood and green residue on the screen.
For his second I think his sorcery should be implemented.
First he levitates his opponent they begin to spin and their body begins to appear distorted becuase of the speed which they are moving. Their limbs are then removed one by one leaving a bloodied torso and head with limbs sprawled around the body.
