It's nice to finally see apic of Shangs true form.
I agree with Legacy though, his human form looks a lot better. Although if it were possible to use Shangs real form, it'd be nice to see what powers and attcaks he'd come out with.

I MAY be able to believe Ermac as the glitch character but not a actual character in MK1. I do however tendo to believe that the Ermac glitch is not even in the game. You guys seem to be missing the point of Ed Boon talking about Ermac, I have no way of knowing if Boon really said something about Ermac in a gamepro but assuming he did to me it would seem like a way to get more people to buy the game to look for this "Ermac". Also assuming that the Ermac glitch is true, there is no way it would have made it to the console versions because the latest MK1 arcade revision 5.0 took out the error macro counter in the audits.

I'm not sure about the games and the like, but Mortal Kombat Conquest took this direction with Shang.

The picture pretty much shows what Shang looks like ...coo.And the thing about the way he looks in 2 and DA,well I guess that's just the way he turned out when he became a "youth"(human)Or maybe when the team was making MK2 they just decided to make him look that way.(Not everything has to follow a set of rules.this is a fictional story guys)

The official story for Mortal Kombat 1 (copied directly, word for word, from the Genesis manual):
"For ages it was a competition of honor and glory, noble warriors from around the glove were invited to take part, each seeking to win the title of Grand Champion. But that was a long time ago... Before the tournament was corrupted by the evil demon Shang Tsung, a warrior who took not only the lives of his opponents, but their very souls... With the aid of his pupil, Goro, a hideous half-human dragon, Tsung began a domination of the contest which has lasted for centuries. Today, 500 years later, the contest begins anew as warriors once again gather to partake in Mortal Kombat."
Oh, and I believe the Ermac not existing thing was to expel rumors that Ermac was hidden in MK2. Boon himself has said several times (and not just in Gamepro) that Ermac was in MK1. If I can find the transcript of the interview I had with him back when I worked for mk-kombatants.com, I'll post it.

Subzero_5th Wrote: Well the MKDA said that Shang's origins are from Earth |
There is still some things unexplained about Shang Tsung. If Shang Tsung's origins are from Earth, then all of his victories in Mortal Kombat would've been victories for Earth and not Outworld. However, his victories were victories for Outworld. John Vogel needs to come up with some sort of explanation as to how this is possible in a future MK game. MKDA already stated that even though Bo'Rai Cho was against Shao Kahn, he still refused to compete in Mortal Kombat simply because his birth on Outworld soil guaranteed that his victory would be in the name of Shao Kahn.

I don't really think it was as simple as just switching sides. There has to be something else that caused Shang Tsung's "victory for Outworld" to happen. Bo'Rai Cho was on Earth's side during the whole period Shang Tsung was involved in the tournament, yet he could not compete, because his victory would've been against Earth instead of for Earth. Shang Tsung had to have pulled off something to ensure his victory was a victory for Outworld. Exactly what it is he pulled off is anybody's guess.

There is no way that would be Shang Tsungs true form. He is a sorccer, but he is not a freakin demon.

However, Shang Tsung did physically compete in and win the Mortal Kombat tournament on several occassions, until he got his butt whooped by the original Kung Lao. The rest is history, as we all know.

Ermac was in MK 1 but he was a total mistake. The comp spit out a red scorpion and it said Scorpion and nothing more. I'm pretty sure Ed Boon said it only happened once also. So technically he wasn't in the game since it was Scorpion just with red since it was an error macro which is why they named him Ermac.
Ermac didn't appear as a real character with the name Ermac until UMK3 which he was a secret character.
You could say Ermac was almost like Reptile in MK1 where it says Scorpion except Ermac was a mistake unlike Reptile and well he only had Scorpion's moves since he was Scorpion just messed up.
Also I'm pretty sure that the 1 time it happened was not on any local arcade machine but on Midway's tester version or just their regular version which they fooled with.
So if someone is going to say Ermac was in the game when it was just a 1 time messed up Scorpion.......well you can call them wrong.
-------------
Also does anyone know if in the latest versions 4.0 or 5.0(not sure if there was a 5.0) of MK 1 did they take the time to change Reptile's name to Reptile instead of keeping it Scorpion?
Since I know in version 4.0 they added the clues and he even calls himself Repltile....so I'm thinking they changed his name in the health bar and was wondering about that.

You can't fight against Reptile in the T-unit MK1 4.0 or 5.0. Only in 3.0 and 4.0 Y-unit. I am pretty sure that Reptile stayed as "Scorpion" in both.

They very well could have made his name Reptile in the energy bar, it's been a long time since I've fought Reptile on there. I'll check right now.

this has probably been said sorry if it has...
if thats what shang tsung looks like then the body he uses would be from a soul he has captured soooo maybe they should bring back shang tsung as the monster guy (not that he looks much good) but then have the body shang tsung has been using as another character with its original name
if not another idea... shang tsung could have a move like noob on mkt where um well that little monster shang runs out of normal shang.
normal shang falls down monster shang runs into and inside opponent and bang big green soul explosion and opponent goes flying and normal shang gets up and back to fighting
or some kinda fatality using monster shang
possibilities are endless WOOOO
