This is an attempt to help the confused, the lazy, and the unknowing. People come to this site, looking for answers about the final secret, answers we don't have. Theories come, theories go, but yet no one has discovered this elusive secret. Hopefully, these statements below will help all that want to know what the MK team themselves have said about the Final Secret. These statements were made on Fight Night, and the final statement was posted on our news front here. If you have a theory about the secret, or any other questions, perhaps these statements I have collected will assist you.

[21:41] DArqueBishop: Are there second or stage fatalities in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance?
[21:42] Ed Boon: No there are not. We really wanted to put all of our emphasis on the actual fighting and not on the end of the round.

[21:45] PainGame asks: 'Are there any more secret characters besides Mokap and Blaze?
[21:46] Steve Beran: You gotta keep playing to find out.

[21:47] smma asks: 'Is there anything down the right hallway from the menu?
[21:47] there is in fact another hallway
[21:48] Mike-Taran: unfortunately it cannot be accessed, and was intended to be another menu area.

[21:59] kaoken3 asks: 'Do Blaze and Mokap have fatalities?
[22:02] < ]ombat>And does Moloch have one
[22:03] Paulo Garcia: Blaze and Mokap were added to the line-up close to our ship date and there wasn't enough time for them to get their own fatalities. also secret characters and bosses in the past mk games have not had their own fatalities

[22:06] Mike Taran: As far as the barriers in the stages, they cannot be broken to expanfd the fight area. Maybe we will have time to develop something like that in the next MK

[22:08] Msmma asks: 'Is there any thing left for us to discover in the game? More Krypt secrets?'
[22:09] Paulo-Garcia: There is atleast one secret that is not known yet on all the platforms. As far as I know noone has found it yet

[22:20] FatsJuggalo asks: 'in the discription of the drum arena it says that if there is a draw there, you can fight the big drummer dude.. is there any relevance to that?
[22:22] Tony-Goskie: it was an idea I had, but with time we had to complete the game it was not donw. Unless a programmer put it in thier secretly?
[22:23] Alexander-Barrentine: No drawn matches, I'm afraid. Someone must win.

[22:24] Mike-Taran: i answered the 12:43 question, it does not have any significance and is not a Bible reference

[22:24] smoke22980 asks: 'Is there a Cheat Menu in the Game?'
[22:27] Mike-Taran: there is no cheat menu in the game.

[22:37] Paulo-Garcia: "the secret is in the coupons?" ~Crow~: This appears to be a question, rather than an statement.

[22:39] brinky asks: 'can you give us some hints on how to unlock the secret that no one has found yet??
[22:39] Robert-Blum: Keep trying all sorts of places for button combos.....

April 4, 2003 Ed Boon on the Version Code
Posted at 9:18 AM EST by DArqueBishop

"With all the controversy and speculation concerning the existence of a version code and a final secret, we contacted Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat and lead programmer for Mortal Kombat:Deadly Alliance <http://www.mkdeadlyalliance.com>, to see if he could shed any light on the situation. His answer:

"The version code in MKDA IS in there. I was not the programmer who put it in and I am sure that it was never intended to be discovered. Off the top of my head I don't think I can remember what the code is..."

So, at this time, the existence of the version code can be confirmed. However, Ed's answer indicates that this may or may not be the final secret mentioned during the Fight Night chat. At this point, we'll leave it for the fans to decide.

Our thanks to Ed Boon for taking the time out from his busy schedule to provide an answer for us!"

In closing, if your theory contradicts any of this information, then it is incorrect. This is an attempt to cut down on the 'final secret' threads. Many times, they can lead to flaming, and cause problems on the forum. Some users have forgotten how to have a discussion about the 'final secret' without causing riots. Also, don't post information you know to be false, and in case you didn't know it was false, I have posted this thread to show you actual information pertaining to this subject.

If it is a button combo, wouldn't it
make sense that it would be in the House of
Pekara level in front of the Ghost.

Could be, or not. The exact location wasn't revealed. This button combonation is thought to let one view the version code, but that isn't really confirmed either. Just keep trying.

Thanks for posting this, Crow. It really helps everyone out who has questions about the game secret.
The problem is, that most users never bother to read stuff like this to see any un answered questions.

i think we all should just face it. if there was a secret, chances are it would have been found by now...i mean, its been out for allmost a year now.

like i mentioned in another thread..people have cracked the game and found nothing. im sure someone on this board has ways of asking boon one way or the other.

also, he never said it hasnt been found..he said as far as he knows know one has found it..which means we looking for something thats probably already been found...but you never know.

The main reason I posted this is beacause, regardless of what the majority think, there will always be someone who'll be looking for this secret. That's the way its been since we unlocked every known secret in the game.

You could be right though, it wasn't Ed Boon who made that comment about there still being one secret left, it was Paulo Garcia. Perhaps he wasn't on the same page as the other team members, he could have been talking about the coin cheat, thats one speculation. He might not have been aware it had been found. The best thing to do, would be to ask him, not Boon. He made the comment, so let him say what he meant, because only he knows what he was meaning when he said that. Anyway, this is really just to assist people, alot of questions have already been answered and people seem not to understand that. There is no meaning to the numbers, 1243, its just a time, nothing more. Yet, it was the basis of alot of these final secret theories. People tend to get upset when a new user comes to the board and makes a question about it, leading to flames and skulls, this post is supposed to reduce the chances of that happening.

I would just like to clerify this statement. Though it is true that there is a good chance of it being found by now, it may not be so. I remember that there was a MK Trilogy VS. Screen code that was not known until a few years of the games release, the code being 222-222 just for your trivia. Also I also remember that no fan found the PSX MK4 cheat menu, I remember that Ed Boon had to reveal to the fans how to do the cheat code in a chat once way after the game came out.

That 222-222 Kombat Kode was known long before those few years you're talking about (the kode to let you fight in the Dead Pool). It was one of the kodes that the game gave you if you unlocked the last treasure of Shao Kahn (through the super-endurace mode).

crow nice job explaining why this put here. although i havent unlocked everything yet, i did believe at one point that the drummer was the secret...but false. the ghost on the pekara level just might work but no one knows yet.

for those that have the time to find the secret, good luck and have fun.

P.S. post it here first just for our fans...

[22:39] Robert-Blum: Keep trying all sorts of places for button combos.....

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before (search didn't come up with anything) but one thing that i've been thinking is maybe what he is trying to say is look for a code in all sorts of places eg. in the bgs.

I am probably way off track but its just something that i've never seen anyone mention.

Someone found it(or it was leaked) a few days before Boon's cheat where he revealed it.

Possible Theories:

Alright, I did a bit of searching again, and found a couple of theories about the 'final secret' that haven't been disproven by the information I have posted above. Now, these are theories, it is your choice whether or not to take them seriously. Obviously, none have proven any results, but its really just something to think about if you are trying to find this secret.

Portal Stage: This was quite popular many months ago I believe, the basic idea was for a player to be able to go through the portal and have a bout with some secret character that lies on the other side, (mainly Noob Saibot). This theory stands because: 1) It has not been confirmed that a secret character isn't left in the game, a yes/no answer wasn't given to the question. 2) There were hints to try button combinations, could it be on this stage perhaps?

Further information into this can be found by reading the portal stage's story found in the krypt. For instance, it is said the location of the portal is known only to sorcerers and deities. Given that, only 3 characters in MKDA could be used; Raiden, Shang Tsung, and Quan Chi. It is also said that before you can pass through you must 'face your greatest adversary'. You can find out that the greatest adversary for Shang Tsung is Quan Chi by playing through konquest mode. So, perhaps the secret can be accessed during a battle between Shang Tsung and Quan Chi taking place at The Portal, and a certain button combination would have to be inputted. On another note, all this may be no more than a part of the story of this stage, and this theory could be reading into it too much.

The Krypt Whispers: One of the more popular theories by far, is this one. Of course, it is said that one of the whispers in the Krypt says something along the lines of "Time will lead you to Saibot". Unfortunately, the question asking what is actually said wasn't answered. No real 'theory' has been developed to search for Noob Saibot in the Krypt, and it has actually be confirmed several times by our staff that Noob is NOT in this game. But again, the answer to what the whispers say was never revealed.

I posted this in Subzero961's thread:I have a question, who was the user who first said the final secret was a version code i remember every thing he/she posted:they say one of the MKDA developers came into the store they worked at and he asked the guy "what is the final secret"then the developer said "it's a version code"
================================

i still beleive that there is a final secret.I think this whole "it's a version code"wait something has just come to my mind. What does it mean when Ed Boon said it was a "version" code.it could mean the PS2 "version",xbox "VERSION",or GC "VERSION"....
