Guys I know you offered me help but i still cant beat my cousin, who chooses jax. i lost 20 games in a row. He does the same moves over and over.

He does a little low kick and then a grab/ throw type thing. When i try to block the low click i leave myself open for the grab when i block the grab he does the low kick. I cant win. Not to mention he plays the game once a week at my house only. And i get my ass kicked. its so embarsssing....

I have the xbox version of the game .....any more suggestions on how to win ( i am almost ready to call it a day.......but i cant caN I ?

IF YOU GOT moves let me also button combos in xbox format would be great..

any help needed?

this loser thanks you in advance for any help!

Reversal and punish. Most people hate it but it's still a great way to get an opponent to switch tactics.

Well, buy the BradyGames guide of Deadly Alliance, go to the section of your favorite character, then study those moves and combos as if you were studying for SATs! That is, if you care about SATs.

I think you mean Pai Gau. Hap blows ass.

In general, 1,1 BDc is a good bet for anyone who has it, which is quite a few. Throws out-prioritize a lot of stuff in DA. So if you are getting frustrated by throws, "WTF!! I attacked you first you bitch!!" then now you know why. You can reverse low's in DA. So pick Shang or a reverse peep and bitch smack his low. If you choose to do that, remember that when you reverse a kick the begining of a branch - 1,1 - the second 1 will whiff and they can block. So if you catch a kick, launch, then juggle. Also, just throw his ass back. Peeps who throw a lot usually get really bitchy when they are thrown. Doesn't matter if it's MK, Tekken, SvC, SF, whatever.

If you are really having trouble, just pick Scorp, stay in Gau, shove --> hell fire, 2,2,3 back-dash --> hell fire. Enjoy.

no, it doesn't. it's very nice. quick 3, nice sweep mix-ups, and the u+4. watching 2 advanced scorpion players bash 3 in hapkido while both keep blocking it is like watching back and forth parrying in sf3. not that that has to do with anything. but it sure is fun to watch.

For fighting Jax, scorpion is your best friend. Block all of jax's moves, and when hes finished with his combo, quickly do scorpions 4 hit combo with his sword, followed by 2 juggles. You could also do this with his hapkido. Remember to block while jax is doing his combo, and immediately after hes finished, do yours.

Scorpions sword combo is pretty weak in my opinion, anyways use johnny cage. He has the best combos and special moves.

Hapkido sucks ass...compared to Pi Gua.

If anyone else had hapkido it would kick ass. Got damn do I wish Sub had it instead of Shotokan.

Ssshh....learn how to sidestep. If he always does the same move, choose a character who can do reversals, like Sonya, Kano or Shang Tsung.

Can you break throws in this game?

If so, throwing should not be an excuse to losing.

No you can't 'break' throws, but you can block them.

My advice, fireblade:
Just eat the low kick! It does far LESS damage than the throw.

When you try and block the low attack, thats when you leave yourself open.

i think you mean 2,2,1 --> hell fire. 2,2,3 is trash. they can tech roll right out of it so back-dashing into hell fire = no.

outside of shove/hell fire, pi gua isn't great. in hapkido, use 4 to your advantage. if they block the inital hit, hit b+4 to push them away. if they don't block, juggle time.

If you can't block him fast enough, then learn to side step. Once you get timing perfect you should be able to side step almost everyting Jax throws at you. Plus this leaves Jax wide open for punishment if your quick enough to capitalize. The point? If you can't block effectively then don't block. Your problem seems to be you are not changing your strategy just like he is not altering his. Obviously your attempting something over and over again that does not work. Learn to side step effectivly and you should be alright....as far as Jax is concerned. Side steping doesn't help with every character.

Dude 4 isn't even safe if I remember correctly, and pi gua is dope because of 3 and 4 being super safe, not because of shove/hellfire. Shove/hellfire is like a bonus.
