I won't forget the 1st time I played MK. I was 8 years old,it was back in the good old days in the early 90s(1992). At the time I was living in Tennesse. The Mall I went too was called Govner square mall which my family went to on a early morning. Like most of the time back the my bro I asked for money and waited as the arcade fence opened up. Naturalty there was no one there. I remember the arcade which was sponsdered( I think) by Namco by the way since the tokens at the arcade had pac man on the tokens. MK1 was located near the enterance is where it was located. As usual my brother and I walked around the arcade for a while and trying to find a arcade to put our in since most arcade games weren't all that wild back in the early 90s(good games back then in the early 90s = street fighter and smash TV at least at the arcade then.it was just after my Bro and I finish losing in the arcade game called pit fighter as we looked around for a game to play near the enterance we spotted MK. At 1st we watched the demo of it in amazment. Then after that we put out token in. My Bro picked Raiden(his all time fave person) and I picked Sub-zero because I frooze stuff(who wouldn't want to freeze stuff :D). I won of course since I was always best out of games :D. After the vs with my bro I can remember the AI being tough so I lost on the 3rd match, but them I was hooked. Since then MK-UMK3 are only games I had ever put endless amounts of money in.( Besides the greatest racing game ever San Francisco RUSH :>)
PS man I miss the arcade years(damn N64 and PSX for killing arcades it was teh place you could challage masters at games, now ll you do is play against your friends -_-)

Oh God... i Musta Been... like 3 or 4 when MK1 Came out on Genesis and my Brother, Chris had Rented it, back then i was so Scared of Big People Brutalizing Eachother with Blood Spraying out of them..., But that all Changed when I finally played Mk2 (i Actually was Scared of Major Videogame Bloodshed until i was about 7 when MKT came out for N64) then... i was more Hooked than a Cow Carcass in a Freezer, but to be Honest I NEVER, EVER saw a MK Machine at my Bowling Alley (they usually had about 3 Machines up at once, Two were Normal Machines while one was Pinball) actually that reminds me... the Only Fighting Games i Ever Saw em Have were SF2 and Primal Rage.. Monkeys and Dinosaurs Beating the crap out of eachother... DAMN THAT WAS AMUSING!

I was 11 or 12 in 1992 when I first saw and played it at the arcade. My arcade (Tilt) had the MK1 arcade edited no fatalitys no pit just blood very dumb I was real mad eventually they did put the fatalitys on and the pit fatality, by that time I was already playing the MK1 game at Wal-mart and that one had the fatalitys on and pit it was awesome.

I had to of been about 12/13 when Mk1 first hit the arcades (not exactly sure). I remember actually being forced into playing Mk the first time. I had gone down to my local coming book store that always had the hottest arcades out, to play Street Fighter 2. When i got there, SF2 was gone and had been replaced by MK. No one was playing it at the time so I felt obligated to at least give it a try to see what had replaced SF2. From that day on, i dont think i ever really gave a damn about any of the other SF's.
