One of my favorite parts about the last couple MK games has been the Konquest modes. I don't know about you guys, but to me, it's one of the main things that just keeps the games interesting. Probably with MKD a bit more so than with MKA.
And this game will reportedly have one. I can't wait! You can see it from 2 points of view, the MK universe and the DC universe. Sounds like high replay value already!
Maybe I'm a bit biased because I not only love MK but I love DC & superheroes in general, and especially crossovers. Even though I didn't think these two could really mix well at first, this game is almost like a dream come true for me!
The fighting game sounds really cool with Klose Kombat, Freefall Kombat, etc. But a fighting game just doesn't do justice to some of the DC characters powers and skills. A story mode can really give Superman the chance to be bulletproof without having to worry about balance; or can show Batman using his detective skills to track down the bad guys. It can show the story almost exactly as if you were watching a TV show or reading a comic book of it.
Also, using MKD as an example, there were characters you could interact with and fight against who did not appear in the fighting game mode! With reportedly only 10 or 11 characters from each universe appearing in the fighting game, it's almost a sure thing that a lot more than that will show up in the story mode.
Anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am?

Absolutely! The second Boon mentioned the story from two perspectives, I started (foolishly) getting my hopes up!

I hope this story/konquest mode is really good. MKD's was o...k but bad graphics, MKA's was much better but too short, so lets hope this story mode is detailed and fresh and fun and you can play as any of the MK or DC characters and lets hope that its the first thing they created and wasn't made as a side note. Also, I know there is only 20 to 22 characters, but i think there should be more that you can unlock in konquest.

Correct me if I am wrong, but there isn't going to be a Konquest in this game, right? I already asked boon about it through TRMK and he mentioned there won't be any Konquest or Mini games in this game. Sorry guys.
But can anyone explain how a first person story mode would be like? How does that work? Any ideas?

They said there would be a story mode, and it would be partially written by 2 authors from DC comics, and that there would be both an MK perspective to it and a DC perspective, I think it'd be interesting from both :)

Yes but I am wondering how it would work.
Say for example, you are Subzero, and the first combatant is Batman. If you defeat him, there will be a cutscene explaining the story? Something like that?

Interested is a better term. Probably the biggest reason right now to "give it a chance" other than gameplay.

Very well said.

Nice grab, chief!
I've been imagining story mode as the classic chit-chat before matches, with some sort of significant development in the middle of the ladder, and end. Like recent Tekkens, Street Fighters, and other.
Shame. Between Konquest and Tekken Force, it almost feels like that sort of addition should be an industry standard now. It was nice having something more motivated than the usual repetition of punch and kick side-on combat.
