Awesome Idea... MKA Strategy Guide: The Fan Edition (READ!) (LAYOUTS AND EXAMPLES ADDED!)

Before I get flamed, torched, etc... let me state that I am a fan - just like the rest of you guys. I reside on the MKO forums as well - however I am pitching this idea to you guys, as well as them.

I figure these two sites, MKO and MKOutworld, both can come together on a project. However, we need to have enough fans to back it.

I, like many other people - was disappointed with the MKA strategy guide. Now, I'm asking that we come together to gather information to make a complete strategy guide - with complete/full character renders, concept art, alternate costumes, in depth strategies that only the pros would know, what moves make or break this character - etc, and what fatality combinations really suit this character best.

However, here's the kink in this idea - I'm pitching that it be a printed guide, independently published - however I'm sure we could all toss something together, something for the fans to download/ print themselves.


I reposted this from the MKoutworld forums because it seems like it's very do-able and it seems like it would be a pretty awesome idea. I think that it would include things like tier lists, who's broken and who's not and how to counter that. We could even include an Online Play Section and a Kreate A Character Section with formulas for missing or fantasy characters.

I like the idea. I would buy that...so, that way I know it is accurate and from people who actually know what they are doing.

I think we should sticky this, it would get more attention and really help get contributions from people who know what they're talking about with gameplay mechanics, and storyline wise.

Ninja_Arts I think thats an awesome idea. I can tell you right now that I would buy it, as well as get all my friends that are true MK fans to buy it.

Again - this should be stickied - because first we'd need to find someone to do layouts, find renders, cut renders, get screen shots, etc.

Then we'd need someone to type out the information and stuff.

If we keep this up top it'll be noticed soon.

Please get more people to post in it.

That is a wounderful idea my friend, im a 27 year old hardcore mk fan and i know about everything thier is to know about the REAL mk story. I have the book all the comics ect... i also went to school for writing and would be glad to help out anyway i can as i have lots of free time! please let me know and i wish you the best of luck on this wounderful idea!

I would never buy a strategy guide, however, I always want to make on one and as well as some other video game establishments. Mind if I work on the layout?

I am a huge fan of Mk and I think I could be a major help in maybe possibly helping with the bios cuz I have some great ideas. Feel free to IM me if you want to hear my ideas. I don;t have ideas for every character, but I do have ideas for most of them.

That's a pretty cool idea.

I'd buy it.

It'd be cool if it had a few pages of fan art aswell.

Maybe do some art work for the bios or endings...
