When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."
Nothing beats the Shaolin Monks opening. Hope MK vs DCU tops that.
Ol' Jack forgot to mention he liked MKSM's intro as well...beautifully done!

I would have it go sorta like the opening sequence of Soul Calibur 3, where it show fragments of different fight scenes between MK and DC characters.
Oh God no. I hate that type of intros.
Amen. Those intros are cool, if the little clips in them were a part of other cinematics, which you could then watch in full.. But if all you see is little bits and pieces of fights, then it's (pardon my language) just a cock tease.
Hungover, Darkseid rolls out of bed and puts on his favourite rabbit slippers and goes to the kitchen to find Kahn had made breakfast before leaving to do whatever it is the Outworld emperor does (MKDA suggests he sits in throne in a very sexy bored manner at all times)
Darkseid has an epiphany whilst reading the Daily Planet and biting into the emaculate bacon Kahn had made. If he could pit the heroes of both sides against one another they would destroy themselves. He and Kahn could grow old together training horses and making costumes for dog shows.
And so the mergin of the realms begins...

A lil winin and dinin..intoxicated Darkseid expresses his hatred of Superman. where Kahn does the same of Earth's warriors. then the form a drunken alliance and high-five.

I doubt it could top MKArmageddon's.
Nothing is better than watching 60 god-like people tear each other apart!
Deceptions was better and Sm was badass too..
This one has potential too.
MKA's opening was pretty simple and it's easy to beat. Characters were just beating on each other, fighting in mid-air (which looked incredibly stupid I might add), fights in general didn't look all that great animated.
MKvsDC's opening has the chance to be all kinds of epic, if they show things like the Watchtower located on the moon, a wide shot of the worlds merging, Batman decending into an alley because he found Scorpion or whoever else, Shao Kahn and Darkseid joining forces, etc.
Now the intro in MKD was epic.
What was lame about MKA's everyone killing each other and Mileena gettin her jaw cracked by stryker?
It was lame because they made all the characters mindless imbeciles.
For reasons undefined they had everyone join two teams and then proceed to have a massive fight. No prelude, just blatant disregard for alignment and established story. However, I did laugh when Mileena got whacked.
That's just my Opinion.

Well, that intro wasn't about paying close attention to every little individual's storyline. It was about a massive amount of fighters beating the hell out of each other. And in that respect, it was pretty damn epic.

Indeed. I couldn't care less which team they joined and why (Scorpion joined the bad guys just so that they could make him fight Sub-Zero), the idea was to show all the fighters fighting each other and it did good.

.
Was it simpler than the stupid kidish intro for Tekken 5 .Or was it worse animated than how Feng killed his master in Tekken 5 intro .Or was that fighting in the air more stupid than how Kazuya and his father fought the Jack 5 ??
Comone be serious please and stop saying bad things about every thing in Mortal Kombat .

To all the questions above: yes.
You seem to be confusing the quality of the depiction, with the tone of the subject matter. MKA's introduction, while fun, was one very simple idea, relevant to the game in only a vague sense. It offer some fun character beats, but really only amounted to relatively competent CG punch-fest.
Tekken 5's introduction sequence(s) are arguably of a higher animation standard, and certainly deliver more on the conceptual side, introducing new characters and concepts while also providing crucial set-up for the game and it's minor increment of story.

How about you get the **** off my case and stop the fanboy act? If you didn't notice, I did mention in an earlier post how I thought that MKDA's, MKD's and MKSM's Intros were better, so I obviously like them.
Juts because I don't like a trailer that has fighters senselessly run into each other, pull lame air-acrobatics that makes them defy gravity and try to reach the top of a lame Pyramid that came out of nowhere, doesn't make me hate everything about MK. It just makes me dislike the MKA Intro.

Listen and lestin carefully ..
I dont like how you defend your stupid Namco games while they are the biggest shit in the world .
If you cant hear something bad about your tekken then you are also onother fanboy but guess what a stupid fanboy who is ready to buy a game 10 times as long as it has the same stupid moves and the same stupid story .
I said nothing wrong , nor insulted you and hear you are began to insulte me ...
That means you have nothing to say
Tekken’s intros suck as well as all of Namco’s games .
and please next time show some respect .
It's also nice how you asume because I don't like one lousy intro, I must be immediately a fanboy of another franchise. Though it's true that I prefer Tekken over MK games. But it doesn't make me a fanboy because I can recognize which game has the superior fighting mechanics.
I've seen only two other post of you, and I can immediately tell that you're a massive fanboy. Don't even try to deny it. I wasn't the one who said in another thread that fans of other games like to make shit up about MK. Calling anything other than MK crappy because they don't improve games much. Yet Midway hasn't even managed to build a solid core engine for their 3D fighting games. In fact, they are revamping the whole fighting mechanics for this new game. Also, I'm not dumb enough to pay $100 for a fighting game, like you admittedly would.
And after this post, I'm not even going to bother with you any longer.

You have already paid more than 100 dollars to that japanese milking company for the same shit for more than 10 years .
End of the story <>And yes MK:DA,D AND A deserved the 100 $$ atleast (in your case for the honest try) to improve the game and bring somethings new .
By the way If I would act like a jerk and searched your old posts you would never ever enter the site .

You can't be serious? Tekken has "superior fighting mechanics"? Come on dude Tekken was good before they released Tekken 4. Since that it has been crap.

Dude, he never mentioned being a Tekken or Namco fanboy. You should stop this pointless vendetta, you're going to get skulled.

In my opinion Tekken plays better. For the simple fact that they don't have the dial-a-combo mechanics. Sure, for a long powerful combo you'll have to follow specific commands just like MK, but unlike MK you can actually deviate from the combo. In MK I can't even perform a simple 2 hit combination, unless it's part of the move list.
Then Tekken got things like throw escapes and reversals. All MK has are combo breakers which you can only use a limited amount of times.
Also, Tekken has the fluidity that the MK franchise is missing so much. Of all the MK games, I liked the tacked on VS mode in Shaolin Monks the best. Even though I'm a fan of the Mortal Kombat mythos, the last 3 fighting games just never wowed me. But I'm actually looking forward to MKvsDC, because Midway doesn't seem to try to be a good 3D fighter like Tekken or Virtua Fighter, they are going back to the basic 2D mechanics, but with 3D models. Which could turn out great if they do it properly. So far I'm only hearing good previews, let's hope Midway won't disappoint.
THink about it.

But yes, I do want the intro to be a bit more storyline related. Some dialogue would be really nice.
