Read the above article to see Gamespot's review of what they have seen of MK vs. DCU. They claim that character design, art, and gameplay is spectacular. I guess we'll just have to keep watching.

Is this the same Gamespot that fired their reviewer for giving a game a bad review after said game's company threaten to pull sponsorship of their site? Or was the the other Gamespot?

...because that has everything to do with the gameplay of the new game...

Yea, by PS1 standards
MKA was the Beta, as it stands right now...Mk vs DC is the out coming of that developing project...Lol
I really wonder who they're trying to sell the game to...I really do.
Oh, and I didn't manipulate those images...I just copied and pasted.

those are concept images and have nothing to do with the in-game graphics, all of them

So you see my point then?
If they don't improve the graphics that are supposed to supercede the in-game graphics traditionally....
Then what do you think you are considering buying here?
Let me tell you.....
You are going to buy, a MKA game...with a different button configuration.
toy with that concept..
NOTHING else is different besides the shock value...
Don't you see that?

NOT true!
It has Freeform Kombat now! It has no fatalities! It's going to be a T-rated game! It has.... Batman!
See? A lot is different.

Lol! Out of pure enjoyment and the goodness of heart, I concede.
When it comes to fighters do NOT listen to Gamespot. Ever. They're full of shit. They tell you what they want to tell you, and that's it. When it comes to fighting games, people who get paid to review games don't know their ass from their elbow. No exceptions. The way they review all other games is fine; art, plotlines, longevity, etc, it works for most genre's and that's cool, they're giving you their opinion on what is essentially a peice of art. But fighting games are not art, they are science. Game reviewers don't have time to sit down and play with frame data or play at a high level, so they just don't know. Remember the reviews MKA got? It got excellent reviews. So did MKD. They won screeds of awards and all the reviewers on sites like Gamespot and IGN who reviewed those games said the gameplay was excellent. Obviously, it was not.
So if Gamespot or IGN tells you the art is good or the graphics are good, cool, I'm inclined to believe them. But whatever those sites say about the "gameplay," disregard it completely.

Design wise, I definitely agree.
I find it disappointing and frustrating that so many MK fans not only accept, but want their characters to all look alike!
MKDA (and to a lesser extent, MKD) did fantastic work to individualize all the characters. I really enjoyed MKDA Scorpion's distance from Sub-Zero, and certainly later iterations of characters like Sub-Zero, Ermac, Cyrax and Sektor.
Shaolin Monks seemingly started that regression by not only missing the opportunity to canonize individuality in a revision of the technologically restricted games, and not only that, made the problem worse by giving every character conceivable the same shoulder pads!
Reptile suffered the most there, I think, because MK4 and MKDA did great work to individualize the character with an overdue sense of logic.
Now here we are back with MKSM's design, and if the blurred teaser on Noob.com was anything to go by, a similarly homogenized Scorpion. Oh dear!
Graphically I think the quality is actually really pretty impressive, certainly for an MK! They just seem to be wasting it with disappointing character design which I think applies to Batman too, but mostly Sub-Zero. Boourns!
RE: The picture comparison; renders probably aren't much to go by.
MK renders often have 2D touch-ups, and probably out do their in-game counterparts. I think the trailer footages shows in-game graphics are going to be one of the few positives of the game. A strong (if expected) step forward for MK!

Why the Hate for Mortal Kombat Deception? It seems like everyone praised the game when it came out and said how much Armageddon was shit compared to it and now everyone seems to hate Deception? MKD was probably the BEST Mortal Kombat since the 2D games.

Personally, I hate Metroid. Just doesn't appeal to me. Oh, it was MP3 they were talking about.
