I don't think they're just guest characters, why would they name it "Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe" if they're only going to include two DC characters. That would be like Titling the next Soul Caliber "Soul Caliber versus Star Wars" because it has yoda and darth vader in it (right?).

It's a privledge for Midway to cross over With DC. DC Comics is the LARGEST comic book company is the WORLD people. And there is alot more to Batman and Superman thana you see on kiddy shows on Cartoon Network. They have complicated personalities, complex stories, and histories so epic and violent they make MK look like a fucking children's book. Not to mention Superman alone is a thousand tmies more popular and well known that the entire MK roster.

I know that it's been said already, but why would Midway do a MK vs DC when Capcom did a Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter like ten years ago? Is the whole cross over idea dead and buried in the past?

Why copy something that a former rival did 10 years ago? That doesn't scream "taking the series in a new direction" it sucks all the worlds air in and lets out a bellowing "we're going to the past for no real reason!"

If MK vs. DC is real, and even I am holding my breath until we get some official info, it's going to make alot of money for Midway-regardless of how good or bad it is (That's called the "Harry Potter" effect BTW), because there are so many fans on both sides. And it may turn DC people on to MK, or visa-versa.


EDIT: this is not, I repeat NOT directed at the people who don't like DC or don't think the two universes go together, if you don't; that's your opinion. You just better know what you're talking about before you start knocking it.

I'm not happy with Soul Calibur having Star Wars characters, even though there are a ton of Star Wars fans.

Ultimately, it's because the two universes don't mesh together. It's not like Killer Instinct vs. Mortal Kombat, where the tone and atmosphere of both series is at least similar.

Fans ultimately are the ones BUYING the game, and I see no reason why anyone who isn't happy with a decision shouldn't be vocal about it. If someone, like me, doesn't want DC characters in the game, I'm not going to sit silent while some exec goes "Hey, that'd be a good idea! You know, Pokemon's kinda popular too... think we could do a crossover with them?"

I'm just not a big fan of crossovers in general either. Well, at least not since Archie Meets The Punisher....

I think it would be great if MK awarded you with unlockable characters for beating the game on hard (or something.) I mean it would be fun to see that, but a crossover. Just some fun characters to get after you've completed the game. It gives it more replayability.
