Boon said that all the fighting styles are unchanged right? well if thats right then this will be not only be like MKDA but EXACTLY like MKDA. I mean who wants to have the same exact moves from MKDA,i think everyone should be redone with new moves.......but i seriously hope im wrong

Of course its not.. like they'd leave alone the single most important aspect of the game.. the reason why the game is what it is..

i really dont mind, because if you think about it, they want to make this game as real as they can. If they change every ones fighting styles its stupid. It wont make sense. One minute they know a set of moves and then all of a sudden they know a whole different set of moves?? Thats really stupid. I think they are gonna ADD more moves to each person and remove a couple.

...What do you mean by "Re-done with new moves"?
Do you mean that they should add new moves to each returning character's list... Or say... Switch Scorpion's and Raiden's moves with one another? If it's the second one... Then you need help!

Yeah, its been said already that the fighting engine will be much faster, tighter, and more easy to control. They will have new styles to, atleast 1.
And they have to give each character new moves. I'm more than certain subzero will have brand new moves.

I'm pretty sure he said something like the fighting styles are coming back but "improved". I'm guessing they will add more attacks and combos and stuff. I wouldn't worry too much about it. This game is turning out to be what DA should have been. Not that I didn't like DA. I loved it.

I am sure gameplay improvements will be made. Dashes forward for good offencive game might get in as well as a improved combo system allowing for some more freedom in terms of the style changes. New attacks per style could be a good thing to put in as well as keeping in the reversal system. perhaps the power ups can go?
The fighing will be changed I'm sure. MK: DA laid down the ground work. I'm sure the old gameplay +improvements in movement and offencive and defencive options+ backgound interaction will = A fantasitc game to play online and make MK a really compatitive fighter that is also funas hell to play.
Just like MK2 and Mk3 were.

Lui Kang was a good start. Sonya would be a good next choice.

I am almost certain that some returning characters will be coming back with new weapons, so I would look for a new style there, as well as new style branch combos.

I'm wondering the same thing. Do you mean completely overhauled. That would be ridiculous, like taking capoeria away from eddie/tiger in tekken. People get used to certain moves, and I, for one, enjoy the consistency.
If you mean adding new moves, more counters, evasions, and subtracting some useless ones, I'm all for that, but a complete revamp of the move sets everytime a newer version comes out would be extreme. Characters would begin to lose their identity.
Ex. I loved Law in Tekken 2, Tekken 3, Tekken Tag, and Tekken 4. He was pretty much the same in all with a few added things in each. This way I didn't have to completely learn an old favorite while learning to master the new characters.

Well, all classic MK games had Hp,Mp,Hk,Lk till MK:DA. So i think it's fine. Maybe add a couple of new combos!

I want punch and kick buttons back, no more attack buttons 1 - 4. and uppercuts too.

What set Deadly Alliance apart from previous MK games was the fact that all the character has their own style. Instead of the same HP, LK(what Candyman said). Getting rid of this for the old style would be really dumb, because then everyone would fight the same.
TotalBlackout: They may add uppercuts, we'll have to see. Actually, I'm sure they will since the levels are multi-tiered now. But WTF were you talking about when you said you want punches and kicks back? There were punches and kicks in DA.

They said in the PSM article that all the returning fighters will have ALL of their old moves. So Scorpion will be getting his teleport punch back.
0
Yeah, I heard the all classic moves will return. I hope it looks good in 3-D though. :/ Like Mileena's teleport kick will look kinda strange when she fades past the ground. Unless of course they change it so she disappears then reappears in the air for the kick.

You guys all seem to lose faith whenever a new version of this all time quarter mucher comes out. Fact of the matter is, each one of these games has evolved in their own way. Some aspects thrived and improve, others will suffer.
I'm more optimistic about this version for one simple fact, they're experimenting with something other than the game play. They know what sells, and they're trying to include all they can. Instead they're probably focusing more energy on the online aspect of it, which I personally can't wait for.
I for one was disapointed that teleports, and indepth combos were sort of over-looked in the last game, but it's about time they come back. The visual aspect of it is just a rediculous concern, they'll make it look fine. That is of course the guy who made quan chi's fatality in DA is responsible for it, hahaha.

Okay ur all probably gona lay into me for saying this but i didnt play mk:da nearly as much as the older mk titles because there was far too much to learn for each character. So i found myself limited to one or two players.I know i should be learning everyones moves and mastering every body but i really cant be arsed.I think i would just be happy with one well thought out style for each character, with lots of combos and one weapon style.I liked how you could just use any character in the older mk games but still be half decent with them,so that when you play your mates you can have some variety instead of using the only characters you have taken the time to learn their combos for each of the three styles. *rolls up into a ball for the possible verbal kickin he may get

Even if the basic moves and styles ARE axactly the same, the fighting system from DA only needs to be tweeked (sped up, etc.) nto totally overhauled. Plus, if the controls are the same from DA, then we can start practicing for online right now!
Boon was obviously referring to the multi-style system, and not the characters' individual styles when he said the mulitple styles would return in MKD. In any event, I wouldn't really mind (major) changes in the MKDA characters' styles and movesets, as a lot of them didn't really feel all that thought out...

It'll have to be sped up insanely. I'm not sure if you all have see the images in PSM, but these are HUMONGOUS levels. If the gameplay is as slow as it was in mk:da, all of this space is going to be put to waste.
Those screens look amazing, I'm sure they planned for this, heh

It will not be exactly like MKDA, that's just impossible.
They will add new attacks to the styles they already have like in every other game.

I'm suprised no one mentioned the fact that characters will no longer carry their own weapons so they will have to find weapons around the arena to use. Which mean they have an extra slot for a fighting style...
