Does it matter to have a gay person in a fighting game? No.
Street Fighter and Guilty Gear are known to have some few fighters who is gay. Being gay adds some depth and personality towards the characters. Did any of those characters story revolves around them being gay? No. They are facts that keeps the characters interesting.
If they have a gay MK character in an MK game, so what? I dont think the story will be about the person being gay but however, it does add some interesting facts about the character itself.

it wouldnt matter if there was or wasnt... i mean think about it... name one MK character that they talked about their personal life?... NONE!... so even if there was a gay character in MK, we wouldnt know....

Wow. Why don't some of you elaborate on why sexuality shouldn't be in the game instead of being rude? I think that a character should not be gay for comedy or for shock value, only if it is an important part of the character's life and it is serious. Scorpion is still Scorpion if we get exposition that he had a male lover on the side when living. Kitana is still Kitana if she has a realtionship with Jade. The gay characters from SF and GG kick as much tail as the straight ones. . .except Dan.

I always thought that Jade kind of hinted something like that in Konquest in MKD. Because she said something about his outfit. I think she said it was "weird" or "strange" or something like that. I believe that the "reasoning" (or lack thereof) for that double standard is something along the lines of: LESBIANS ARE HAWT!!1! FAGS ARE JUST SO GAY!!1!

What i find hard to believe is that Gays and Lesbian falls into the same catergory. Lesbian was never a word. It was a word to define a female who is in love with another female. The proper word to define both terms of homosexuality is Gay. If someone says "Lesbian is hot but ### are just so gay" theyre both the same thing, same sex and same gender. If someone loves lesbian but hate gays, then they hate lesbians too.

It doesnt matter if you use that word to illustrate your point. There are people out there who do get offended easily and you shouldnt use those words in the first place. Next time, simply say "the f-word that is offensive to gays" or what i always use "###".
