I could care less if Jax is back or not, I'm just happy that Rayden has been confirmed. Then again, I really don't see how they could have brought back Jax over Sonya.

no..jax has been in every mk game since his debut in mk2..he even starred in his own game..mk special forces...he and sonya should stay gone for a while, if not for good.

Jax was a great addition to MK as a new character in 2. His fatals in 3 were horrid and he has really dropped off as a decent fighter. If they fix him up a bit, i wouldnt mind, but either way....i dont care. Bring back Kung Lao!

And MK doesn't NEED to put a African-American person in MK. No law, requirement, or standard says they must have one. And Jax's skin color matters not to me. His character was boring. If he was anglo, I would not disliked him anymore or less.

I personally liked jax. In mk2 and 3 he was a strong soldier. In DA he was a Joke.They totally butchered his character in my opinion.It was tragic to see him reduced to the level of loud mouthed,gun toting,gangsta dressing,token black guy. It sickened me.I might become a fan again if the developers give him some depth and make him a resepectable man again.

We got Rayden back now its time for Sonya.
Jax was one of the most dangerous charcters in MK2, I was actually Glad that he was on earthralms side. We then go to see Sonya and Jax together in MK3 which in my point of view was the saving grace of that game. Jax was introduced to his metal arms and he still could fight well in MK3 but his fatalities were kind of lame.
After that game Jax just fell below the standard required for a decent character in Umk3-triology he got lost amongst the sea of new characters and too me Sonya was more refined in those games which made her a stand out with the women.
They sealed Jax’s fate in MK4, I don’t think I ever played as him in that game he was just to boring and weak. Where as Sonya just got better and better.
The same thing happened in MK: DA, except instead of Jax being boring he became annoying.
Im glad for one reason that he’s confirmed in Mk:deception and that is because it raises Sonya’s chance’s of being in the game otherwise I wouldn’t care.
The mortal kombat team have to give him back his Mk2 attitude that he had, which was one of respect and power.

i really dont like sonya, i find it insulting that a military woman can compete with mystical warriors, sorcerers and ninja assassins. see jax is more believable in that regard as he needs those metal arms to be competitive against the best of the best.

he does need an outfit makeover though and a decent second style

Well then surely the same would have to be said of the like of:

Liu Kang
Kung Lao
Kabal
Kano
Johnny Cage

And other human warriors...The fact is that those Sorcerors, Mystical Warriors, and Ninja Assassins are only as good as their next fight, besides it doesn't matter how much "Power" you have, if someone is a good enough fighter they can and will survive, it's all about openings, sooner or later someone will mess up and if a fighter takes advantage of that mistake than it's all over, regardles of whether or not he/she is dodging ice balls, fire balls, and force balls, screaming Skulls, etc. For any of that junk to be effective, it first has to hit the target...And Sonya is just too fast, she is and always has been a top notch fighter, more than able to hold her own against the like of Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, or any other poor sap that ends up in her crosshairs. And the fact that she CAN do it without the Cybernetic implants just proves the point even more that she is far superior to Jax in just about every way.

I'm not super excited that Jax is back, mainly because I don't use him.

But, I don't understand how anybody could honestly be offended because Jax wore hip hop clothes for his alternate outfit in DA. Three reasons. (1) It was funny, especially with the machine gun!!!!11! (2) It's a videogame that is not going to make you think all blacks are gangsters any more than it is going to make you go out and freeze your friends head, detach it & hurl it through his chest, and (3), it's not like the Asian mythology is any more accurate. I, personally, would buy & wear the large Flava Flav style Gold MK Medallion he had on in DA!!!

The only change I care to see with him is that he is balanced. More moves in his fighting styles (as the guy ragging on his Judo-lite stance so eloquently put it). His machine gun was super cheap, just like Stryker's was in MK3. Machine guns DO NOT belong in MK. Oh, but I would like to see his weapon style be something more fitting. I can understand they probably started out having him use a billy club (very Rodney King...) and ended up with the tonfas, but how about a spiked baseball bat? Or something else more American... maybe a Big Daddy Kane? lol...

I don't care about having Sonya back (even though she rocks) because (1) Nightwolf got her Tae Kwan Do style with something better than Kenpo to pair it up with, and, (2) though I like her Kali sticks low kick moves, Nightwolf's tomahawks are so much cooler, as are his special moves. He may become my fav character come October. Besides, there are plenty of female fighters this time around with Tanya joining the ranks for Mileena, Sindel, & Li Mei. Though I know plenty of sorority girls who love to see the girl fighters fatalicize the guys... I'll settle for her appearance in Konquest mode.

Which gets to my last point, are we sure that Jax is coming back as a playable fighter & not just someone in Konquest? I don't have Gamespot's little sentence in front of me, but I don't remember it convincing me either way. As you remember, Mr. MK himself said that all Kombatants will Kome back for this game in the Konquest mode, which I think RULES!

Ok, so maybe I let my anger get the better of me as far as Jax returning over Sonya goes...I have thought about it and Though he's not anywhere near on par with Sonya, And I don't like him, he's not completely useless either, I guess it wouldn't kill me to see him return if:

He is like he was in MK2 It cannot be disputed that this was Jax at his very best and most deadly. For his returning moves he should have the Gotcha Grab(of course) the Multi Slam, Ground Pound, Back Breaker, and for his projectile I'd like to see the Sonic Wave back (No more of this Missiles out of his arms or Machine Gun Nonsense)

I don't really mind Jax being back. He's the only Speacial Forces member outside of Cyrax (go mustard!) that I like. I've never liked Sonya and I hate Cage (fame hungry, annoying as all hell, stupid mother...)

If they revamp Jax enough to make him a decent fighter and give him some sort of story element he'd be alright.

Nitara? Sonya, gamplay wise, Could kick the crap out of Nitara on everyday of the week. Sonya's got way better mix ups, and better speed than Nitara. I realize that Nitara can pull crazy combos out of her ass at will, but the damage in realation to those combos just isn't that great, simply but she's weak. Sonya is all about damage, and can easily run circles around Nitara. Don't get me wrong I happen to like Nitara and next to Sonya she's my most played female in DA. But Sonya is better.

Scorpion? Ahhhh, well Scorpion is excellent and I have no doubt in my mind that he could put Sonya down, but I said "toughest FEMALE" and unless Scorp is planning on a Spectre Sex Change... O.O ... He really doesn't qualify.
