Is mk vs dcu the best looking next-gen fighting game so far? To me, it looks 100 times better than street, sc4 and virtual fighter. what do you think?

What rock did you crawl out form under? Oh, wait, sycophantic fanboyism, why didn't I recognize it?

It's not the worst... But I wouldn't say the best.

Depends on if you're just looking at graphics or if you're also factoring in animation.

I see nothing wrong with either.
Frankly, I think the 3D models look better than the new Street Fighter, even though Street Fighter is going for a different style.
Same with Virtua Fighter 5. Even though VF5 came along much earlier than MK vs. DC, I don't think time frame plays a part in this particular discussion.

And I see nothing wrong with the animations. I mean, I've seen worse, I've seen better. But they're not bad. There's nothing technically wrong with them.

Indeed I am growing tired of people hating the animations because I have no idea what they are talking about.

I’d say SF4, SC4, and Tekken 6 are above MKvsDCU.

But I could care less about graphics. Gameplay and story is what matters to me.

It's hard to say with the new Street Fighter, since they're going for a completely different visual style. But it's more simple, so it's also easier to make it look good. I mean, most of the characters' clothing involves, vests, pants/shorts, belts. That's it.
MK is a lot more elaborate, I think, what with the intricate details on the Ninja Masks, Jax's arms, Kano's eye, etc. etc.
So the polygon use is expended on those little details. But they do look great, I think.

About Me

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Jack Burton is simply looking for a well balanced game...I agree this isn't the best or worst out there in terms of graphics...but I hope storyline, graphics, animation, gameplay, etc...when all factored together, end up better than the others.

That's just my preference really.

Baby cats, dogs, and mice are all cute to me. But I prefer cats over the other two.

Oh my god! Kittens are so fucking cute I can't get over it!

Fuckin' adorable.

Haha, off topic, but I love cats, too.

But you'd really have to be some kind of shallow person to judge a game by its graphics, so I guess it really doesn't matter.
With MK, when it comes to graphics, to me, what matters most is the design. It's not the poly count, or texturing, but the actual outfits themselves. Which, I'm pretty damn happy with so far.
I mean, I'm not crazy about Midway's little recent trend of giving the ninjas those weird shoulder pads, but they've been doing that since Deception, and I've made my peace with it.

You can't tell me they don't look at least a little stiff?

I think we should judge the graphics once the game comes out. By then the graphics should look their best.

Well it seems that you are talking about the graphic . It is not the best as VF5 has a better graphic .But the charcters animation is better than Soul Calibur4 from what I have seen .

I really think that the creat your charcter mode in soul calibur has lowered the quality of the charcters as it made them somewhat unoriginal .

SF4 is onother case ,onother style .
So the answer is NO !!!!

That's what she said.

I think Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur 4 look much better than MK vs DC. I can't really comment about Street Fighter 4... I don't think they were going for much of a graphical approach, though it does look nice.

Sorry but I dont agree ..
Tekken 6 doesnt really look that good at all at the arcade and Soul Calibur is not that good but better than Tekken .

They did not have to put the clothes take off in the game because it just doesnt look good .

MK VS DC real fighting pics do look better than Tekken and Soul Calibur .

MK vs DC IS, without a doubt the best looking next-gen fighter so far. It's animations may not be the smoothests, but MK vs DC is doing amazing things with model detail running real-time. Anyone who knows even a little bit about 3-D modeling (like me, a very little) can see just how amazing MKvsDC's in-game models are in the high res scans. Absolutely amazing. Just because the models have a simple look, don't mistake that for simple models. The detail on these models goes down to a very small scale. I'm amazed these are in-game models. Think about this. Really only 1 other game so far has had good enough in game models, to acctually use the in-game models in the cut-scenes, and still look impressive, and that was Metal Gear Solid 4. MK vs DC is doing it, and it looks pretty damn good.
And whoever said SC4 has better models than this is out of his or her mind. SC4 models just have lots of things flapping around that are really colorfull and looks more impressive than it really is. But as I found out with it's create a character, when you make simple models without lots of armor, you know? MK style?, like my Bruce Lee, the character models aren't that impressive. Good, but not impressive. No better than VF5. Though I will admit, sometimes it can look really good, which is why I bought it. Cuz it looks good, and to get me through till MK vs DC. They are two totally different styles of render, both nice, but MK's is much more impressive on a technical level.

You know what? Upon closer examining the character models in Soul Calibur 4, I'd have to agree with you.

From what I've seen so far I'm not all that impressed by the visuals in this game.

Jack Burton usually uses third person only to open and close his posts...unless they're really short, like in this case. wink
