It's hard to say in first instance because I haven't played the games yet.
But when I see (gameplay, screenshots, etc) of MKvsDC..sometimes it makes me say..COOL!!!!
and tsometimes it makes me say .. MEhh
Agreed to the people above saying that some animations look stiff. That is one of the times I'm saying MEhhh. But when I see Flash's combo or something..I'm like Coooll.
I feel that they got the point a bit and heading for a better direction, but they are still far way from creating the MK I've (and most people) are waiting for.
They still got a huge (and maybe too huge) lap to make for the next MK..but time will tell.
Back on topic, the game still needs to come out..so you can't really compare. But from what I've seen..I think SF did a better job. They reinvented it with a new look (altough Im still waiting for new costumes) and made good use of their strength (gameplay) Haven't seen or played the other games yet so I can't say much about that.

Can I be the first to ask: What is wrong with using colours? Fucking teenagers with their demands for 1,0000000 shades of brown and grey for the "gritty" experience.
Also, its a bit ironic seeing as this is the most colourful Mortal Kombat game ever!
Seriously, Street Fighter IV looks great. Love the graphics and art style. Soul Calibur IV looks awesome with its "colours".
And MK Vs DCU looks alright. The texture quality looks a lot better than models as it were. I've only seen the 1st High Def trailer and it looks alright but not as good as its competition.
I'm not going to argue the toss with people on an opinion.

Although a person on the previous page brought a good point along. I haven't seen a single fighting game that had battle damage in this generation so far.
That's one thing that really brings MK vs. DC out. You get beat up, you'll LOOK like it. And I think that's really a next gen convention. Not a single other fighting game made use of that, not in the previous generation when MKDA started it, and not in this generation.
So, graphically, I think MK earns points for the attention to battle damage.

Soul Calibur 4 does have an armour system which looks alright on the default character's 1p outfit. It looks stupid on the create a characters though.
Well, SCIV actually has battle damage. But It looks like MK does it better. In SCIV, the armor and even clothing, just seem to break off. But what SCIV is indeed lacking, is visible damage on the body. But if they were to make it realistic, characters would be covered in cuts all over. And SCIV is nowhere near as brutal of a game as MK.

Sorry but that system sucks .The game would have been alot better without it .
And yeah creat your charcters mode makes the charcters unoriginal .
Who cares none of my Die Hard freands of SC did not say that the game doesnt suck .
SC1 &2 FTW

MK vs DC definitely has great battle damage. They started this feature in MKDA and they were gonna have torn clothing back then.

I think the battle damage in MKvsDC looks terrible. Waaay too overdone and not nearly realistic. C,mon, Batman punches Flash in the stomach and Flash comes away looking like he just got slashed by a tiger, how does that make sense?

Yeah, that does kinda suck.
I don't understand why each fighter has their own individual look when they are hurt. It's just stupid.

Well, Batman does have those blades on his gloves...

I'm sure he was joking... But that's just getting a little picky. I mean, standard punches would resolve in bruises, which you can't see behind clothing. so that would be pointless. The clothing has to be ripped to display battle damage. And either way, if you're gonna get picky about the TYPE of damage done to the characters, then why not get picky about where it happens, and say, "if he gets punched in the ribs, that's where the damage should occur, and if he gets slashed on the leg, that's where it should occur." It's a video game, made by a company with less budget than Namco, or Capcom, or the other companies. And still, they have the most impressive battle damage I've ever seen in a fighting game.Nathan Wrote:

It'll probably take a while before we get realistic battle damage. Where bruises and cuts appear where the characters actually get hit. So far I'm happy with how the battle damage looks. I'll just try not to think about it when I hit someone in the face and a scratch appears across his chest.

If they can't do it right, they shouldn't do it at all. And it's hardly impressive. And all of that stuff that you said is being picky is exactly how it SHOULD be. Make it worth my 60 bucks, dammit.

Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4, Virtua Fighter 5 and Dead or Alive 4 all look graphically better than MK vs DC Universe.
It looks better than Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and Super Smash Bros Brawl though...

Umm. No way. No How. No No No. MK vs DC is pretty much at the bottom of the barrel when it it comes to next gen fighter graphics. I'm not going the fanboy route and agreeing that everything looks fantastic because it doesn't. I don't know what it is with MK and this crappy unrealistic animation they've been doing for the last 3 games, but it needs to be put to an end. They honestly have not changed the fighting system at all.
The only thing they truly did was make moves linkable in hopes that you'll get that nostalgic MK2 feeling and ignore the robotic motions of the characters. These new fighting mechanics like Klose Kombat for example, it isn't all that. Woop Dee Doo I can pull in an opponent and hit them with stiff punches and kicks, and Ooo, look all my close up body and clothing damage. BLAH. Free fall is pretty cool though. Anyway, no this game isn't the best looking.
