Maybe he's doing wat Sub Zero did.. Change his clan from evil to good? i think Kabal might be jus plain pissed off at Mavado and wants revenge.. Kabals Black Dragon won't be good... Look Kiras foes : "Shujinko and his allies"... If new Black Dragon is really good, why would it be enemy with Shujinko, who will be probably the new hero... Plus, look Kiras alignment : she's evil...

Plus she's allied with Kabal and Kobra..
Assuming both are evil now, the Black Dragon might go back to its roots.

ive always thought kabal was evil with his mask and stuff and i wonder if he will have his fatalitys from MK3 either the 1 where they blow the head up or the 1 where he takes off the mask but now there is the 1 with the spinning and the choppping

I have to admit I am pleased with this. I'm glad Kabal isn't changing the clan from evil to good. That would be too expected and too cliche. I'm glad that he's evil now. It would add a twist to the story. Kabal used to be good, but now he's bad. I wonder what's REALLY happening.....hmmm....

wasnt kabal just pissed off at kano... which is why he left and now apperantly kano is "dead"... so he can go back to being a bad mofo and lead the new black dragon...

This whole Red/Black Dragon thing is really confusing.

Actually, after looking at Kira's trading card on IGN, I think Kabal is aiming for the whole power/money thing that the Black Dragon stood for, but also more disciplined, like knowing where the boundary is (like maybe no killing kids or banging hookers, just "business"). That's my guess.

I completely agree. What's the point in reviving all my favorites if they're just going to fuck up their stories. Whatever happened to the nomad who would have devoted his life to justice? What became of the vagabond that became Raiden's chosen few?
I'm telling ya, I thought Vogel was doing an excellent job until I saw the latter bios. I still think the guy is brilliant, but he's doing the very same thing Tobias did with the previous MKs. He's ignoring past plot elements and reconstructing the story, and not to develop the character itself, but to help develop new ones. I'm sorry, but I don't believe we should be gambling Kabal's quality for Kira's.
PsychoFight: I like that idea a lot actually. That would soften the blow of Kabal's change, IMO.

Nowhere was it every said Kabal was good except in his ending. And we all know how Mortal Kombat endings are. For all we know Kabal never left the Black Dragon. Or maybe (like someone in an earlier post said) he left because of what Kano was turning it into and now that there's no Kano he can bring it back to where it was: Ruthless but with discipline.

If he was a Chosen Warrior in MK3, he was obviously good...

Maybe...he's like Kitana. Kitana was killed, then ressurected as one of Onaga's bodyguards or something. Maybe Kabal was revived, then was told to reform the Black dragon without any will of his own...

It means he was good? Why did he have to be good because he was one of the chosen? The gods protected those warriors they thought could bring Shao Kahn down and give earth a fair chance. No matter if Kabal is good or bad, him defeating Shao would still bring Earth the victory. But back to my whole point....Just because he was a chosen warrior didn't mean he had to be a "good" guy. By wanting to take down Kahn in MK3 it put him in the light of being a good guy....but he could've been a bad guy the whole time only wanting revenge, but in taking sides against Kahn made everyone (the fans) see him as good.

Here's my take; After losing his fight with Mavado and nearly dying, Kabal's sanity collapses. He wanted to kill Kahn and Kano, and now there dead apparently(MK characters never seem to stay dead). Without his chance for revenge taken, Kabal can only think of one way to get revenge. In the words of Liquid Snake "I will surpass him! I will destroy him!". Insane Kabal thinks his only chance for vengance lies in doing what Kano couldn't do: Keep the Black Dragon together. With the knowledge that the Red Dragon was orchestrating their fall, Kabal may indeed surpass his predecessor.
Wo what do you all think?

Um, nah. If Raiden had only chose warriors who he thought would be able to oust Kahn, he would have chosen someone much stronger than Kabal. Further more, look at the common factors of the all the chosen warriors. Yes, they were powerful, but they all were potentially good as well. Kabal was brought to an inch of vitality and saw life for what it actually was, as well as what evil he was contributing to it as a whole. Whether it made him good or not is debatable, but it most definitely sparked a change in him. All we really know about this "change" is that it brought about Rayden's trust and faith into Kabal. To say Rayden would have chosen any powerful thug is borderline absurd.

Cabal + MK's love for changing "C" to "K" = Kabal. Cabal means "Plot", I have a fealing that Kabal is possibly playing puppet-master with Kira & Kobra. I think this because (SPOILERS) in Kobra's ending, It had Kabal telling Kobra to be patient and let their enemies handle things. (END SPOILERS) But never said who their enemies were... And i don't know about you, But Kobra looks pretty goody-goody, Even if Kira doesn't. (edit)And speaking of Kira, Why exactly is Kabal having her prove herself by going against the Dragon King? Which is another reason i believe Kabal is playing puppet-master.
Or maybe i'm in denial... I remember the MK3 ending picture of the vagabond walking alone in the desert, Swearing to fight injustice. And that's what i think of Kabal when i see him. I don't want that to change!

Exactly. That is the definitive image of Kabal, IMO.

As weird as this may seem, I wasn't a fan of Kabal until I saw Defenders Of The Realm. That's when I truely appriciated his character, but look at Kira's bio...
Kira is the first recruit of the new Black Dragon. Kabal saw in her a calculated ruthlessness that the clan had previously been lacking. Kira will help the clan bring the world to its knees, but first, she must travel to Outworld to test her might against foes of the Dragon King.
BRING THE WORLD TO ITS KNEES people. As much as I hate to say this, Kabal has gone dark. I also have another thought. If Kobra is indeed Daniel, what will Sonya do if she meets up with him in the future when he's part of the Black Dragon?

kabal is pissed off at mavado for stealing his weapons so he reformed his clan to duke it out this sunday sunday sunday at the north outworld fighting arena, at no later than 8:00 and no cops. we don't need any fuzz messin with our good time. Be there or die!
