Last time I saw his name was in a HomeLan interview with Midway. Here is a part of it:

HomeLAN - While you are bringing back old favorites from past Mortal Kombat games, there will be some new characters. What can you tell us about MK Deception’s new fighters?


Steve Beran, Character Designer - We have a lot of new characters in MK Deception. Kira is a leather clad beauty and the newest member of Kano’s infamous Black Dragon gang. Hotaru is a guardian of Order. His current mission is to restore order to Outworld. Dairu is a deadly mercenary. Ashrah is a demon hunter bent on purifying herself of evil.

There was another identical thread to this one that had a enlarged, brightened 'til the picture was brown (I couldn't find the picture again...) but we were able to clearly see the character in the L spot with a hood on its head, and the only hooded character we've seen until now is "Ben"...

Didn't a member of midway claim that, the charectors on the select screen were just blacked out pictures of their staff spiced up a bit

I'd hate to see the staff member B is based on.

Okay, I took another look, and after I saw Darrius and Shujinko, I've changed my opinions a bit:

A: I wrongly said Dairou. After looking at the new picture and biography, it is in fact Darrius. However, I suspect that Dairou's name was simply changed to Darrius.

B: Kabal. It's still obvious.

C: If any picture is a staff member, it's this one.

D and E: I've done them together for a reason. One has got to be Kira. The other one is probably Tanya. I don't know which is which, though.

F: Absolutely Noob Saibot. Again, it's just so obvious.

G: I've changed my mind on this one. If the Girl in Green is Jade (and I hope it is), then this spot belongs to Jade.

H: Shujinko. Ed Boon already confirmed it, and we have now seen Shujinko's old man look for ourselves. He is not a placeholder for the New Shokan, as I said earlier. I now believe that C is the place where the New Shokan will appear in the finished game.

I: Smoke. Compare I to the new screenshot of Smoke shown on IGN and Gamespot. Perfect match.

J: Skab. It matches up with the render, he has no jaw, and now, since A can't be him (it's Darrius) and we know that he's part of the initial 24, this is his spot.

K: Sektor. It's definitely a Cyber Ninja, and since Smoke is not a Cyber Ninja and Cyrax is unlikely for this game, I'm 99% sure that it's Sektor.

L: Ben/Kobra. Again, I got this wrong, mainly because the screenshot of the Girl in Green showed up poorly on my computer. It is a hood, not hair, and the only hooded character we've seen is Ben/Kobra.

That leaves off the Select Screen Raiden and Jax. My belief is that this is the final select screen. However, I think that there will be a whopping 8-16 secret characters (I'm hoping for 8). If there are 16 secrets, 8 will go above the top row (The top row is: Darrius, Kira or Tanya, Scorpion, Baraka, Mileena, Sub Zero, Girl in Green, Skab) and 8 will go below the bottom row (which is: Staff member, Noob Saibot, Ermac, Li Mei, Ashrah, Kenshi). If it's just 8 secrets (which I reckon), they'll go below the bottom row.

Here's what I think, and I'm sure about most of them:

A = Noob Saibot; I can picture it being him by the shape of the head as well as his shoulders looking like he has a ninja vest on.

B = Kabal; I'm pretty sure of this one, especially by the way the face looks and stuff like that.

C = Liu Kang or Kobra; I think this is more likely to be Liu Kang, but then again, it could be Kobra. I guess we'll just have to find out.

D = Well, I'm not sure really. This could be Liu Kang though it could be someone else. *shrugs*

E = Tanya; I'm pretty sure of this one. It's all about the hair.

F = I think this one is either Noob Saibot or Quan Chi. I'm leaning more towards Quan Chi because of the way the head looks, though it could still also be Noob Saibot.

G = I'm not really sure of this one either.

H = That's definitely Shujinko. He has the hair and I can also see face well enough to tell that it's definitely him!

I = That's definitely Smoke! I can tell by the shoulders, the mask and the spikes on his head. There's no way that transparent guy is Noob Saibot because Noob Saibot's primary costume is his all-black ninja costume and that thing on the boots isn't the Brotherhood of the Shadow symbol, trust me.

J = Darrius; At first, I thought it was Jax, but when the picture of Darrius was released and I compared the heads, they look the same.

K = Sektor; I'm sure of it! Cyrax isn't going to be in Mortal Kombat: Deception and Smoke is no longer a cyborg. And Sektor is supposed to be in this game so I'm very sure that it's him.

L = I'm not really sure who it is yet, but there is a chance that it could be Shang Tsung and I'm assuming this from the way his hair is.

I don't think Jax being in this game is 100% official. I could be wrong about that, but then again, Jax isn't meant to be in this game. As for people like Raiden, Jade, etc. they will of course be unlockable.

To be honest i think F is Darrius

C is Kobra without the hood, look at his hair when Kira is doing the fatal.

E is kira with the ponytail hairdo, Jade has two bumps on the side with pigtails coming out when she has the bangs like that.

If F is Darrius, His glasses are hanging kind of low... at mouth hight... I think it's Noobs Mask

L is Tanya, the only one with that long, flowing hair is Tanya

Maybe that Sktor will be in the game, but I'm not sure that he will appear in select screen... Furthermore, nothing allows us to assert with certainty that it will be the definitive select screen, Midway can decide to change the available characters from the beginning or to change the unlock characters from the select screen...


Also remember yourselves of Midway initial plan for the characters: 6 MKDA characters, 8 news and 10 klassics characters... That sticks perfectly:
