I 100% agree with everything you’ve said Pred, and this render definitely looks like the best of the lot.

I’m super happy with this Sonya, of course I would had changed a few things such as the too-hard face making it look like Kerri or softer, and definitely add the pony tail there, but aside from that, she looks hot, and yeah, like a real badass soldier woman!

I truly love the evil stern look they gave her. She looks sooo evil.



With that I agree. While I don’t think she looks like a man, I do think could had looked more feminine and sexy like the in-game model. That Sonya is absolutely gorgeous! What the hell?! Why didn’t they give her those soft check bones and details like in the ingame model?

But I love this stern evil look, its soooo emo/goth.

As for the thongl, all characters have some sort of sex appeal to them, and honestly, the tan lines of a thong aren’t that shocking after seeing half naked swimsuits all over the place.

Though her nips have caused quite a controversy for sure.

Yep, I did. And as much as I thought the nipples was cool, alot of people aren't that open minded and probably would have found it offensive or just silly so I removed them. I'm glad you like it.

Dude, she looks f***ing awesome, especially the face and the eyes. After seeing the models in the last 3 games, this is like looking at the f***ing Sistine Chapel.

Actually, after having thought about it, she reminds me of Denise Crosby, the actress who played Tasha Yar on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

I just got home and am too tired to find an image and hotlink it. If you do a Google Image Search for Denise Crosby (especially back in her TNG days), you should see what I mean.

Midway should actually hire some hot chicks/models/strippers, so that the render artists can actually realize what women look like. Attractive, non-manly women, anyway.

I suppose you could have a manly women as a character, but it'd have to be obvious. Like, an eight feet tall steroid abusing body builder/cage fighter called "Olga the Destroyer", but I think too many would castrate themselves in terror.

Her abs are also a first though we saw those with Kerri Hoskins Sonya, though not as detailed. Im also a fan of the futuristic gloves. They were nicely design and look wicked!

Agreed! It was the first thing that also caught my attention in the mag pics. The way they gave her those cool straps and bans that whirl around her body look fantastic. I also love the belt, and hey, by what some member said, its supposed to represent something aboit being an expert with explosives. Awesome!



Like I said, the futuristic sci-fi approach they gave her in the outfit totally works, and combined the sexy modern emo look, well, its just perfect.

Those boots kick so much as*!! Im honestly super happy with all the details of her costume, they are superb.

As for the pony tail, while it looks cool, I think it should look more natural on the fall, sleeker and more straight like if you get what I mean, it looks like its too bended, too curved.

And her lips are too big, lol. They should look the same as the render, I like her better without the smile.

I noticed you not only removed the nipples but also the thong lines, right? I think those details are very sexy and add to her sexyness as a whole.

There's.... something wrong here. Her pose looks just weird. I actually have my sketch pad open and am trying to do a rough of her over all frame and it's contorted in an odd way just like this render. Her neck and head don't seem to fit with how the rest of her body looks. Maybe I'm wrong, but It may be the twist of her torso in relation to her lower half. I think someone somehow got caught in between two similar poses in their mind and this is what the result was.

Eh... oh well.

As for her face... errr. Anyways, uhh... that's a nifty lookin' jet in the background.

In 1998 I had a copy of the Mortal Kombat 4 instruction manual. I was 12 years old, bored, and saw a picture of Sonya Blade. I also had idle hands. Well not for too long.

As you can understand, Sonya has a special place in my heart. I didn't enjoy playing Mortal Kombat since then, but I followed the story because of Sonya. And let me tell you, I was quite disappointed with her MKDA and MKSM looks. Her face looked too manly.

I see this picture now, and I am still disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the body is very hot, and it is something my prepubescent self could have enjoyed. But this face is the manliest of all of Sonya's looks.

If she had this body and outfit and her MK4 face and ponytail, this would be the hottest Sonya yet.

As it stands and as someone who has lost his virginity to this woman, I am very disappointed and offended.

Ok, yours blows theirs away. Period. Very well done.



As for my thoughts.

Now, anyone here who actually knows me... knows that I'm a huge Sonya fan. She's always been my favorite MK character.

But, even I can admit that the boys at midway dropped the ball as far as her face is concerned. Which is said really because the rest of the render.. EVERYTHING else... is brilliant. I love it. Just that one detail is throwing it off. By now the midway team should know the difference between male and female facial features.

However, let's talk about what I do like:

First, I LOVE the color of her eyes! That striking icey blue-type color is great for her!

The outfit. I can not say enough good things about her current outfit. It's quite honestly the BEST she has ever looked. The boots seem to be pleasing most everyone.. and with good reason. They're excellent. At first I was a little put off by the beret, however it has since grown on me. I think it works with the who outfit. The insane detail is another nice touch.. like the belt buckle for instance and the dog tags! (excellent tocuh there!) The gloves are also very cool and I like the design with the metal trimmings.

From In game footage, I absolutely love what they've done with her hair. Sonya's always looked best with ponytail and I'm glad that look has returned. In the render I do like how they have the bangs, but I wish the would have had the ponytail falling down over her shoulder or blowing in the wind. (I think that seeing not trace of it is contributing the the render looking "off" But that's just me.)

Over all, I do have to say this is the best render yet (as far as excellent detail goes). I'm also loving the background and hope that it is a stage in the game.

As for the slightly manly face thing... well, that's only the render. We all have seen she looks as beautiful as ever in-game. And that's what matters to me. :)

I'm sure the render is simply what it is, a render. And that it won't reflect Sonya's look in game. She looks great in the footage we've seen, especially demonstrating all those beautiful, classic moves!
