There are just some GOOD and some BAD things about this video:

*THE BAD*

- Many animations remind me of MKA-MKD sadly. I hope it’s just cause of the video Quality, because that sucks.
- Wonderwoman looks weird and plastic. Hopefully she is just ugly because of the vid-quality.
- Kitana’s Free Fall Special move is boring.
- Rayden’s Free Fall Special move is cool but the generic throw he does in the end kind of kills it. -_-
- The shared animation of all characters in Close Kombat sucks. I mean, when you see them finish a move, they kind of “dance/move” the exact same way. It doesn’t suit some of the DC characters, and it’s annoying that everyone shares that. They should look unique in every aspect, not just the hits.
- Kombo-Breakers animation is horrible!!! Its MKD all over again!!! sad
- Kitana’s ribbon should be erased from existence and she should had gotten new original moves instead of copy/paste.
- Throws seem to be the same for everyone....or is it just the “throw-through-walls” that’s the same? If so, then that’s cool, but we see Scorpion throw Deathstroke at 3:42 in a very generic way. Hopefully throws are different for everyone.
- Wonderwoman’s lasso looks exactly like Catwoman’s whip. -__-

*THE GOOD*

- NO MORE UGLY GLOWING EYES IN THE FATALITIES!!!! YAYYYYYYYY!!!! grin grin grin grin (thanks for listening Mk team!)
- Free Fall looks extremely fun.
- Close Kombat looks extremely fun as well.
- The new Arenas that were show are gorgeous! I love them! You get to see some great detail/quality (well, as much as the video can offer) in the first one (what arena is this?) were Rayden does his freefall supermove on Superman. I also LOVE the one were Kitana and Flash are fighting (is it the SF base? It looks gorgeous!). Gotham Street where Sonya and Catwoman are fighting is also superb, the falls look amazing!
- Rayden looks awesome.
- Green Lantern looks awesome.
- Green Lantern’s Free Fall super move looks cool.
- Deathstroke looks cool.
- Scorpion’s counter back flip in Close Kombat looks cool.
- Catwoman’s counter back flip in Close Kombat looks cool.
- Sonya's hair animation is surprisingly awesome in quality. The little you see of her bangs in close-kombat is great. Thank God for this sexy hairstyle!
- Joker’s “eye poke” in Close combat+his wicked laugh+his “dance” are all AWESOME!
- Kano looks very cool.
- Merged arenas look cool.
- Sonya’s voice when she does her Bicycle kicks is JUST like the one of Mk3/4! Yay!
- Joker special moves look cool.
- Rage mode looks great. And the "RAGE" words look cool.
- Jax looks awesome.
- Deathstroke’s sword use looks cool.

*JOKER’s FATALITY*

*The Good*

- His laugh is awesome.
- His movements and poses are awesome.
- The card sounds are cool.
- His end pose rocks.

*The Bad*

- It’s the same Fatality we’ve seen over and over again in MK.
- The death-screams are horrible. Remember MKD and MKT mk team?? You guys did an OUTSTANDING job with the death screams and pained voices in those games. You can do better then that!
- I kind of don’t like the “!” at the end of FATALITY.

Btw, why do Sonya’s boobs look bigger? lol.

Anyone else notice everyone now has their own Combo Breaker animation? During MK:A everyone basically did a hard punch to break off the combo, and the animation looked real stiff and uneven. Now we have people backflipping, kneeing, punching, etc... and now it flows a lot better with the game so that it actually feels like a counter rather than a glitch. Also no yellow eyes = WIN

Nice vid, the thing I liked most were the arenas. They did a nice job on those. For the fighting, well the Free fall thing looks fun..I could do without it, but I also can live with it. Close Combat..doesn't look apealling. The fighting itself..hmmm...I don't know..sometimes it reminds me too much of the last few games. I still got doubts about the main gameplay. Time will tell.

I also noticed for the intro, when it shows that small little sample clip of Klose Kombat, it shows Baraka's klose kombat. By the looks of it be punches with his fists and he has a few special buttons (movesets) that take out the blade for a second and slice up. I'm guessing it will be like MKII where Baraka punches normally like everyone else but for instance, if you do

Pros
-levels look decent
-its a new mk game!
-free falling looks fun
-joker finisher looked cool even though it was done before
-raiden has his old stance =D
-i saw a moment or two of improved animation...but

Cons (here we go)
-I thought you guys were doing this from the ground up? The fighting is still similar to mkda and mka!
-only 1 signature counter for klose kombat? come on... our systems can do more then that!
-fighters still look stiff as ever! EX Whenever a fighter gets hit hard (with a high or mid range hit) it seems like they are glued to the ground and only their upper body moves back.. eh
-stances look stiff....
-many fighters have that over-done bruce lee stance after performing a certain hit.
-perry system from mkda -_- .... dude come on! they should make it like tekken where if you hit two buttons at the right right moment you can perry a punch or kick. (and quickly!)
-too many fighters still share the same moves

im still excited!

This game looks a trainwreck in terms of playability. I don't even know what the point of any of this new shit is. It's "fun" to mash buttons and take random guesses at whether or not you're going to get hit? Jesus.

The only positives shown in this video is the aesthetic stuff. Great stage design, character design, etc. I like Joker's fatality too. It's the same concept as we've seen before, but I don't see how it matters. Cool fatalities, I've come to learn, are less about the general concept of how the opponent is being killed and more about how the concept is stylistically executed. Which is why if you at MKDA; Kano's organ rip - dispite being a badass concept - basically sucked, while Kung Lao's was a much more simple concept (just throwing his into his opponent's face) but it was stylistically executed well enough that it's generally considered to be one of the best fatalities in that game.

The way Joker's is done here, he takes the same concept that Reiko and Noob Saibot used, yeah, but he completely makes it his own by the way he throws the cards, poses, etc. It feels very Joker-ish. I get a real sense of his character by watching it, so I think that qualifies it as being "good."

Man who would have thought killing people in videogames would be such a fucking fine art. lol.

But yeah, by the looks of things, average graphics, excellent art, and abysmally bad gameplay. A typical MK game.

i noticed both these things.

wonder woman definitely looks awful, something about the outfit and especially the hair. she looks more like an action figure than any of the previously plastic-y characters.

i'm really excited to play with jax, i hope he like sonya has a lot of cool special moves although unlike her his will probably mostly be new.

The more I watch this video the more I get excited. Sure the characters sometimes / often look really stiff and there are a lot of smaller or bigger things to complain about (like their stances for instance), but overall this game looks fun. I'd just love to play Superman and to beat the crap out of Captain Marvel (I hate him so much)!
Moreover, it's IMO a cool and also unique idea to put all the small games (Test your might etc.) in the actual gameplay, despite the fact that they're just some sort of Rock, Paper, Scissors or button masher mini games.

So far so good!

The only thing I've to complain is the way they designed Wonder Woman... she really looks stupid and is far from attractive. She could've been so much cooler than this... I mean... just look at the picture!

Nah... whatever... still, I'm really looking forward to this! :D

I still think Rage mode is rather dumb. So your moves get amped up and you glow. What is so special about that? Rage has "gimmick" written all over it. It may fit into the story, but game play wise it's just stupid. If anything, why not let Rage mode allow you to perform an outrageously brutal special move on your opponent? Makes more sense considering it is named "Rage" and story wise is suppose to make you do things that are out of character and violent.

I wonder if it was more difficult to make the DC characters look "real" for some reason. The MK characters look much more believable imo. Not even plastic! But then again, most of the other DC characters look great (Flash, Catwoman, Batman....)

As for the hair, I dont get why they messed up some of the characters hair so badly. Liu Kang's hair in the game also looks a little bit plastic imo.

After seeing Sonya's pretty bangs in action, I thought they were going to pay more attention the hair detail. The animation of her bangs looks great. Shang Tsung's hair also looks nice...but that's it. All the other "long" hairs look abysmal.

Yeah! I cant wait for Jax's new special moves either. He lost the ground pound, but the style in which he performs the hand pund looks very cool. I didnt notice the gun, btw.

While I 100% agree with you in regards to the style and execution of the fatality, I dont agree that that it doesn't matter if the Fatality is repeated. I think it matters a lot, specially because we are talking about characters who dont even belong to the MK world and are making such a grand+important entrance. It sucks for MK characters to copy/paste stuff, it sucks the same way and maybe even more for these guys.

Thing is, it has been done more then once, more then twice...its also been done in a very similar way with Mileena in MKG. Ugh. And if I'm nit mistaken, someone else shares this same kind of fatality.

Sure the execution is awesome and looks wicked, but the same "Joker-style" could had been used in a different sort of fatality that could had involved cards. There is possibility for something new. The cards should had been thrown in a different way and from a different perspective, etc. Why make it so similar to 3 Fatalities we have already seen in the past?

Even if the style looks wicked, it feels old, uninspiring, it doesnt shock, it doesnt surprise, it doesnt make you think you've seen something new...it just reminds you about the plenty of other times you've seen this executed, and how it sucks that a DC character couldnt get a more original fatality. Sopecially because Joker dissevers it and has the potential to have something unique.

It just reminds you that there seems tobe a lack of originality, creativity and interests and maybe even attention to details.

That's why many dislike it despite liking the style in which it was performed.

I have to disagree. I think this mode has a lot of potential. It reminds me of the "Armor-Mode" in "King Of Fighters 99" and "King Of Fighters 2000" (awesome games BTW). After you activate the mode, you are a lot stronger and nearly invincible (because you swallow every hit of your opponent). It's some kind of Desperation Move or Tide Turner and this can decide the match instantly!
And perhaps the Rage-Mode allows a lot more Chain Combos than before (faster Hits etc.).
It's only speculation, but hey! You never know whats coming ;D

Yeah, that'd be awesome... perhaps the creators thought of 28 Days / Weeks later. The people are more or less the same (they look the same and can't fly or crap just because of the virus), but they are a lot stronger, faster and just ... WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! *rage*.
Anyway, it's a pity that it isn't really "rage" but just a some sort of glow that makes you stronger.... in terms of the visuals it could've been so much cooler!

Game looks pretty good, but I am not, and never have been, a fan of sharing moves. Did Deathstroke's sword attacks look familiar? I could swear that they are some of the EXACT same animations that Scorpion used for HIS sword attacks in Deception and MKA.
And we still know NOTHING about the actual functions of story mode. Is it a stand alone game like Konquest? Or is it just fight a few battles, watch a cutscene kind of thing?

Well... I guess, it can be compared to typical story modes from other Fighting Games (for instance Soul Calibur IV or the King of Fighters series). In a way, it's just another mode next to Arcade and Training but different from Konquest. Konquest mode was more like a separate adventure game, a gimmick which doesn't have anything to do with the actual story... more or less.

But unlike the typical story mode which only consists of character specific endings or small dialogues at the final match, MKvsDC seems to have a more movie oriented story mode. Before each fight (or before you encounter a special opponent) there is a small, character specific (and hopefully unique) cut scene which then morphs directly into the fight. Looks pretty neat!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaAMrf_vHq8

Like I said, it’s only a guess but it’s the most obvious in my opinion.
