I know you will most likely disagree, but I believe it matters much more on the player than the fighter. I can beat my firend with pretty much anyone...Yes some characters may be better than others a little, but it still depends on how well the player uses that character's skills that are given to him.

I believe tiers can be overcome with enough skill. But it's hard to argue with the facts about MKDA's gameplay.
It just doesn't make it less fun for me.

NoobSlo I really appreciate that. I always used think most people(with the exception of some..you know who you are) hate me with a passion because they think im some guy who just comes onto these boards to talk shit about MK for no reason, but that is far from the truth. I love this series, and I just want the best for it. I had plans to update the MKDA tier list, but since no one cares about the game anymore i've long decided to scrap that.
BlackCyborg, Im not trying to shove my "opinion" down your throat, but you are kinda wrong and kinda right. Yes, if you are a lot better than your friend then tiers do NOT matter. A perfect example is at a tournament I had last november. I was using Cyrax vs one of SST's friends. He used Scorpion. I killed him 3-0. Does Cyrax still suck? Yes. Is Scorpion still the best? Yes. It's simply because the Scorpion player did not know what he was doing, and I did. However, look at ReptileStyle vs Me. Finals. I(retardedly) used Sub-Zero, and he used Reptile. ANNIHILATED me 3-1! I'm not saying we're even, because I honestly believed ReptileStyle has longed surpassed me, but we are fairly close at level, and it most likely would of been a closer match if i had used someone closed to Reptile's level like Bo Rai Cho or even Jax. There have been VERY rare times when a solid player using a low tier character has beaten a solid player using a top tier character, but these things are rare. A mid tier character can beat a top tier character most of the time, but it's obviously up hill, and rare too. For example, My Sub-Zero beat ReptileStyle's Scorpion 3-0, but that was one match. I am sure if me and RS had a best of 10, my Sub vs his Scorp he'd win the majority of the matches. I hope you get what im saying from all this.

Blackcyborg, the best way to understand tiers is to ask yourself this question.
If I played myself and the other me is playing a better character, who would win? Its pretty much as simple as that.
I have no doubt that a lot of players will be playing high level MK play after a few months. I'm not saying that it won't be broken and gay as hell, I'm just saying everyone will be able to do it since the competitive level of MK will rise due to the accessibility of matches. Of course, we might just have a fallout of MK players after one month and most people will quit after they unlock stuff or admit the game is bad and will phase out, then drastically reappear to discuss on these boards about returning chars again. =P

The reason everyone here is so hyped about Pi Gua and TKD is because MK:DA was broken as hell since it was so restrictive. I think that, hopefully, if MK:D fixes enough then maybe we'll see the low tier at least able to do something against the top. I'm not saying it needs to be Virtua Fighter balance but at least be Soul Calibur II balance where even a Raphael can hold his own against Yoshi. Maybe he can't win but he'd at least put up a fight. I know I'm preaching to the choir here but just to get it on record, with a better engine these bizzare super styles won't be as super.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Maryland is a wasteland. At least, in Montgomery County. No fighting game players at all here. Over the years, I have always played games like Tekken Tag, T4, SC2, VF4, and VF4 alone, for long periods of time. It's pretty stupid, but what can you do when there is lack of fighting game competition everywhere?

Sucks to hear that Starwinder. I used to be like you guys until I started going to University a few years back. My University has John Choi (too many), Eric Choi (GGXX), a lot of others that are hella good in their respective games.(Knockturnl, Semi for SC2) Ricky O, tragic and hella other people that come to the tourneys here sometimes. The regulars here are hella top notch too, even though a lot of them don't make name for themselves in tourneys. But hey, if you can compete with John Choi, you gotta be good. Also Sunnyvale Golfland is like 20 minute drive away =P The only thing bad about my arecade this year is they removed Guilty Gear XX and instead of putting in Reload, they put Guilty Gear Isuka -_-;;; who the hell wants a 4 player game when you gotta hit a button to turn around?
Oh well I hope to play MKD with a lot of you guys, hanging out will be cool if nothing else. At least we can all hope T5 and all will be online someday =P

ATL right here too dude. Can't wait to play Vers, SST, you, and all the others from here.
