This is just awesome awesome awesome stuff here. Keep up the good work. And btw ... Ever since Deception, I've been hoping the MK team will show Onaga in his true human form, and im glad you touched upon that.
Ermac, Cyrax, Jax and Sonya meet up with Shujinko’s group. It is there that Sonya meets Li Mei, and some friction develops between them. Sonya is untrusting of Li Mei, (Li Mei reminds her of Frost) Li Mei notices Sonya’s distrust and is rather offended. For some reason when Sonya stares at Li Mei, she gets a reminder of the evil that Onaga used to make her his slave. Meanwhile, Nightwolf is preparing some kind of strange ritual. Shujinko says the time has come to move… Sonya asks about Kung Lao, Kitana, Johnny Cage and Sub-Zero. Shujinko says that he does not know; none of them have been spotted. Then Sonya asks about Liu Kang… if anyone has happened to have seen him… there is no answer.

Inside the cave, Blaze searches around coming across a well… Blaze looks down and suddenly a beam shots out, hitting Blaze… suddenly Blaze’s size increases rapidly, and his powers rapidly increase. Johnny Cage runs inside, just in time to see this. “Holy Shit…â€? is all he can say. “I shall do the brave thing…â€? he says. “Run away!â€? and so he does. Blaze can hear the messages in his head. He was created by the One Being to become his enforcer

As Kung Lao tries to chase after Liu Kang, he sees a familiar warrior preparing to enter a portal. He soon remembers and recognizes Rain and meets up with him. After a brief explanation as to how he survived, Rain tells Kung Lao what is happening that Kitana sent him to join the Edenian Army, but Kung Lao says that that’s not possible as Kitana was one of Onaga’s slaves when the Edenian Army was formed. (He learned of this during his time as one of Onaga’s slaves) Both Rain and Kung Lao realize the truth… Kung Lao says that they must find the real Kitana… he feels it’s the only thing that could stop Liu Kang from going over the edge…

Mileena has Kitana behind a rock, and has gagged her in order to keep her from drawing attention… with this, Mileena talks to her. She mentions their past and once again says just how much she hated Kitana, she takes the opportunity to hit Kitana a bit, and she enjoys every bit of it. “If you can free yourself. Then we can battle. There’s no Liu Kang coming to save you this time. You’re trapped in a world you can’t escape from… there’s no knight in shining armor coming to save you… you can’t be with him… no matter what happens… you can’t run from your past sister…â€? Just then Mileena hears some footsteps and is able to avoid being cut in half by Baraka. Mileena is shocked to see that Baraka is alive…

Shang Tsung grows tired of Shao Kahn and decides that he must take action… he heads to the Soul Tombs (Author’s Note: No… I am not considering MK:SM canon, but I’m just using this as a way for Shang Tsung to get his youth back) Eventually he finds where the souls are kept and he absorbs them all… until he regains his youth… with this, he vows to kill Kahn…

Mileena and Baraka fight, both exchange some insults. Baraka has fully slipped into insanity and is just blindly attacking Mileena… Eventually Mileena defeats Baraka… she swipes her sai across Baraka’s throat, causing blood to spill out from his neck… some of the blood lands on Kitana… With that, Mileena turns to Baraka’s men, daring them to attack her… however she doesn’t need to wait… for suddenly someone cuts down all the Tarkata… it is Rain. Kung Lao frees Kitana, who stands up and faces Mileena. She is shocked to see that Rain is alive… and the two exchange a glance… but Kitana turns to Mileena and walks toward her.

Kitana says that she’s been waiting for a chance to fight her… now’s her chance. Mileena growls and the two begin their final battle. Kitana tells Kung Lao and Rain not to interfere no matter what happens. After an epic battle, Kitana defeats Mileena again, but does not kill her. “How many years have you waited Mileena? Seems like forever. All you ever thought about was killing me as though it was your only goal in life… Well, if that’s really what you want… here I am…â€? With that, she throws her fans aside, much to the shocked Kung Lao and Rain. Mileena is surprised as well, not sure what to do, she grabs her sai and walks up to Kitana, who just stands there. Mileena raises the sai and prepares to put it in Kitana’s heart, and the two stare at each other in the eyes… for some reason, Mileena can’t do it… she’s feeling something that she’s never felt before… Mileena drops her sai and pulls back. Mileena runs off… never to be seen again…

Kung Lao and Rain approach Kitana and ask her if she knew Mileena wouldn’t kill her. Kitana said that she didn’t know, but she wanted to see if that hope that Mileena could reform still remained… she guesses that perhaps when she showed mercy to her something inside Mileena was changed…

Kitana turns to Rain… it’s been a long time, and Rain still has some feelings for Kitana, but he knows that Kitana’s true love is Liu Kang, though he and Kitana were engaged to be married before Kahn invaded Edenia. However, now it seems like it may come to pass since Liu Kang is dead… just then Kung Lao breaks the news to Kitana… Liu Kang is alive again… Kitana is elated to hear the news, but Kung Lao tells her that he’s going after Shinnok… and he could do something he might regret, they need to stop him quickly… Kitana gives an understanding nod and asks Rain if he will help, he says he will, hoping that this will be the chance to prove himself that he has been waiting for…

Liu Kang finds Shinnok, and demands to know why he reanimated his body. Shinnok replies that he needed a way to seek revenge on his enemies, what better way than to use the very mortal that defeated him? He taunts Liu Kang about how important being a hero is to him… “The praise, the fame, the glory, the girl, being a hero was everything to you… you love it so much… that was the best way to destroy you… by destroying your name…â€? Enraged, Liu Kang attacks Shinnok… and the two battle…

After a long, hard fought battle… Liu Kang wins thanks to his fury… though Shinnok is defeated, Liu Kang keeps attacking him… Shinnok is terrified by this, for it is unlike Liu Kang to mercilessly attack a defeated opponent, he pleads for mercy, but Liu Kang just keeps punching him…

Well, the only thing I can say is that Liu Kang's not so much of a goody-goody anymore.... Baraka is gone... Mileena's story is over... We'll see what happens to Shinnok... look for his final fate next update... and then... the final battle with Onaga commences... (well got to tie up Mavado, Kabal, Kiva and Havik's stories, hopefully during that conflict)
Kenshi realizes what presence it was that he felt: Shang Tsung. With this, he departs from the group, saying that he has something to take care of. Shujinko tries to change his mind, but Kenshi says that he has to leave.

Liu Kang continues to beat Shinnok around, determined to make him pay, just then Kitana, Kung Lao and Rain find him... Kitana is shocked... for the man she sees mercilessly beating down Shinnok is not the man she fell in love with. As Shinnok lies on the ground, badly hurt and bleeding.

Just then, Kitana comes down and the two after being apart for many years finally reunite. This snaps Liu Kang out of his frenzy... she is able to convince him to not go over the edge and to just leave Shinnok alone... With a sigh, Liu Kang relents... and the two embrace each other, while Kitana lets out tears of joy. Rain watches sadly, while at the same time feeling happy for them. Letting go from Liu Kang, Kitana says that they must go to Shao Kahn... and deal with him once and for all. They all leave Shinnok behind...

Sometime after they leave, Fujin finds Shinnok... he does not know who dealt these injuries but he is glad that Shinnok has been defeated... The ritual that Nightwolf was preparing comes into play suddenly Shinnok is finds himself descending into the ground... with a cry of “NOT AGAIN!” he is bonded to the symbol that Nightwolf intended to use on Onaga. Fujin contacts Nightwolf telepathically and tells him that Shinnok will never be a threat again...

Now that Nightwolf is done the ritual, he sees that he is ready to go... with that, Shujinko leads the heroes towards Onaga’s palace, ready to settle the battle once and for all.

Mavado and Kano head to the Palace separately, believing that there is where they will find their enemies heading. While Kabal and Kira head there as well to find Havik, who Kabal wants to ask about Mavado...

Kitana leads Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Rain to where she encountered Shao Kahn... believing that he is somewhere around there. Eventually, they come across the Shokans that Shao Kahn and Goro have successfully enlisted a dozen Shokans, when they are spotted, the Shokans attack, but Rain holds them off... urging the others to go ahead... Reluctantly, Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana do so... upon traveling further into these grounds that Kahn has been using as a sanctuary, they are confronted by Goro... Goro is surprised, but pleased to see Liu Kang again and looks forward to their rematch... however just like many years ago... Kung Lao scars him across the chest...

Kung Lao: Your battle is with me Goro... (he turns to Liu Kang and Kitana) You two go on ahead... I’ll deal with him...
(Liu Kang gives an understanding nod and then he and Kitana run past Kung Lao as Goro starts to get up...)
Kung Lao: Just like last time, huh Goro?
Goro: Grrr... you pathetic human...
Kung Lao: You’re going to pay what you’ve done...
Goro: Grrr...
Kung Lao: Why did you do it? WHY!?
Goro: Kitana only offered peace... Shao Kahn offers superiority... how could I accept any less?
Kung Lao: You’re such a coward... you don’t deserve to call yourself an honorable warrior. This is for my ancestor!

With that, the final battle between Kung Lao and Goro begins...

Meanwhile... Shujinko and the others arrive at Onaga’s palace and head himself while Reptile, Khameleon and Nitara also make it inside... determined to find information on the amulet. Onaga sees the warriors coming and alerts his warriors... Motaro, Kintaro, Hsu Hao and Tanya. Motaro leads the Centaurs out...

Rain manages to kill a few Shokans... but then memories of his failed attempt to kill Shao Kahn... come back to him... he becomes terrified... but yet he keeps fighting the Shokan off... trying to fight his fear...

Liu Kang and Kitana find Shao Kahn... “It’s been a while boy...” Kahn says to Liu Kang. “I heard you were dead...” “I could say the same thing about you Kahn.” Liu retorts. Kitana readies her fans.... “This is for my parents.” She thinks. However just before the final showdown can begin a figure comes down from the sky... it is Shang Tsung... his power having grown immensely.

Shao Kahn: Shang Tsung!? I did not authorize you to get your youth back! Hmm... However, you can redeem yourself by destroying Liu Kang and Kitana...
Shang Tsung: (first he turns around and sees Liu Kang, he thinks he’s seeing a ghost at first and says to himself...) Damn... I can’t believe he’s back... oh well; that will be fixed shortly. (he turns to Shao Kahn and chuckles) You blind, ignorant, self-impotent fool. I did not get these new powers to help you Kahn. I got them to kill you.
Shao Kahn: (he growls) Shang Tsung! I’ll have your head for this!
Shang Tsung: No Kahn, I’ll have yours for soon I will have my vengeance on all of you!

wow man. Keep up the good work.
The battle begins... Shujinko and the other warriors are able to defeat the Centaurs that Motaro had gathered... but Motaro himself retreats back into the palace. With that, Shujinko and the others head towards the palace gates where they find Havik waiting... he opens the door for them, surprised at his assistance, the heroes nevertheless head inside... Kano and Mavado do the same as Kabal and Kira arrive at the palace.

Mavado comes across Hsu Hao inside the palace, enraged that his former subordinate has switched sides, the two battle... Mavado wins and pulls out Hsu Hao’s heart, killing him once again. Just then Kabal and Kira come across Mavado, Kabal realizes that it’s true that Mavado is alive... The two of them battle with Mavado... Kira is killed in the battle and Kabal in a weapon lock with Mavado demands to know how he survived... Mavado decides to answer, he tells him that an inhabitant from the Chaosrealm named Havik was the one who saved him...

Liu Kang and Kitana must temporarily join with Shao Kahn to stop Shang Tsung... it is an uneasy alliance and Shang Tsung finds himself having the upper hand... Rain defeats the Shokan and heads towards the battle with Shao Kahn...

Kung Lao and Goro continue to battle... The battle appears equal, but Goro clearly has the upper hand. Goro mocks Kung Lao as well as his ancestor... this enrages Kung Lao and he charges forward, however he is thrown back by Goro’s attack. As Kung Lao lays stunned... he and Goro are greeted by an unexpected visitor, a spirit materializes in front of Kung Lao, it is his ancestor: the original Kung Lao.

Johnny Cage heads towards Onaga’s Palace, determined to report this new threat and also assist his friends in the battle with Onaga. Fortunately, the location of the palace is not far and he can still arrive in time to assist them. Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Sareena arrive back in Outworld, where Scorpion tells them they must go to Onaga’s Palace. Sub-Zero learns for the first time of Onaga and remembers the dying Tarkata’s words... he asks how Scorpion knows of this and he replies that he is now the Champion of the Elder Gods. Sub-Zero is surprised. Sareena turns to leave, Sub-Zero asks her if she wants to help, but Sareena says that her part is done, he reluctantly, but respectively accepts this decision and he leaves with Scorpion.

Inside the palace, the heroes split up, each trying to find the Dragon King... Sonya and Jax come across Motaro, who attacks them both... Sonya is knocked off a ledge and onto the ground below... Jax is forced to take on Motaro alone... Motaro’s might is almost too much for Jax to handle, Motaro taunts Jax saying that without his weapons, he is no match... Jax decides that its finally time to disgard his other arm and he rips it off himself. “I’ve got all I need right here.” He says, referring to his two organic arms. With this new found confidence Jax gains the upper hand against Motaro.

In the lower reaches of the palace, Reptile, Khameleon and Nitara search the lower levels, Reptile is hopeful that Onaga left some information behind on the amulet.

Eventually, Liu Kang, Kitana and Shao Kahn knock Shang Tsung down, believing the fight to have been won:

Shao Kahn: That’s one minor annoyance disposed of: now to finish you fools!
(He prepares to fight with Liu Kang and Kitana, but Shang Tsung gets back up and the battle continues)

Kung Lao is in shock and awe at the sight of his great ancestor. Goro is also shocked and a little scared. The original Kung Lao encourages his descendant to not give up and to keep fighting... his words fuel Kung Lao with a new determination, he stands up and attacks Goro with renewed strength, Goro is no match for Kung Lao’s whirlwind assault. With one final Whirlwind Kick, Kung Lao sends Goro falling off a cliff and to his death. He turns to his ancestor who with Goro’s death can finally rest in peace, the two exchange a bow as the original Kung Lao finally ascends to the Heavens. With that, Kung Lao heads off to join the battle against Shao Kahn.

Liu Kang: What do we have to do to stop this guy?
Shao Kahn: I have asked myself that question many times.

Shang Tsung taunts the group and continues the attack, however he is attacked by Rain and Kung Lao, who both join the fray. Kahn is naturally shocked to see that both Rain and Kung Lao are still alive (because as far as he knew, both were dead) With one final attack from each warrior and then just like he did many years ago, Liu Kang delivers the Flying Kick which sends Shang Tsung flying out of control through Outworld, landing in the Living Forest.

Shao Kahn: Now then, where were we? Oh yes... (he attacks Kung Lao and Rain sending them both flying with a kick)

Kenshi senses Shang Tsung’s location and quickly finds him laying on the ground, badly wounded. Shang Tsung is surprised to see Kenshi, and begs for his life. Kenshi sees that Shang Tsung is in no condition to fight and does the honorable thing and will not kill a defenseless opponent, but he vows that they will meet again... as Kenshi turns to leave, Shang Tsung stands out and fires one last fireball at Kenshi... however Kenshi is able to sense it coming and he deflects it with his katana. Shang Tsung is destroyed by his own attack as the souls he absorbed leave his body and ascends to the Heavens, Kenshi finally considers himself redeemed.

Sindel and Jade make their way through the palace where they are confronted by Tanya, they see that she is badly scarred, but Jade knows why, she tells Sindel to go on ahead while she deals with Tanya. Jade and Tanya battle revealing some more of their past as they talk. (Author’s Note: I suppose something similar to XiahouDun84’s story could work, not that I’m stealing from it, but I’m just saying...) During the battle, Jade knocks Tanya over a lava pit, but she is able to grab onto the ledge. Jade taking pity on Tanya, offers her a hand to help her up... Tanya looks at the hand, but with one final word: “Never!” she lets go and falls to her death. Jade can only look at Tanya’s final resting place with a bit of sadness and regret...

Jax defeats Motaro, who is impaled on one of the palace spikes below... finally after many years, Jax has regain his confidence in his own abilities... Sonya awakens where she meets... Kano. Surprised that her old enemy is still alive, Sonya immediately attacks him. Kano is surprised, but pleased to see her again, he takes this chance to redeem himself for his past mistake in their previous battle and the two begin their final battle.

Bo’ Rai Cho and Li Mei come across Kintaro, while Li Mei finds herself becoming drawn to the Dragon King’s power. Bo’ Rai Cho and Li Mei battle Kintaro... where Bo’ Rai Cho starts to notice the change in Li Mei’s attitude... this causes him to be wounded, but with a quick swipe from Li Mei’s Kunlan Dao returns Kintaro to the cold sleep of death. Realizing that it is her fault for Bo’ Rai Cho’s injury, she tries to tend to him, but the stubborn old master insists on continuing forward...

Finally, the heroes find themselves in front of Onaga’s throne room, they enter where they find Onaga sitting on his throne. Shujinko and Onaga talk and Onaga leaps down from his throne room and the final battle against Onaga begins...

The battle against Kahn rages on, Shao Kahn has regained his strength since his last battle with Liu Kang and gains the upper hand on the warriors, Liu Kang goes one-on-one with Shao Kahn, but Liu Kang remembering his brutal attack on Shinnok doesn’t fight to his full potential and Kahn quickly gains the advantage on Liu Kang, Kitana watches with horror as Kahn reigns blow after blow down upon Liu Kang finally one last attack, Liu Kang is knocked through the air and hits the ground, unconscious... after many years, surrounded by his closest friends and allies, Liu Kang is defeated...

Kitana attacks Kahn, but after another one-on-one fight she too is defeated by Kahn... Kung Lao is stunned and Rain cannot bring himself to attack Kahn, fear consuming his body as he remembers his failed sacrifice attack. As Kahn laughs over the defeated warriors... a bolt of lightning hits the ground... Raiden has returned... Kahn stands in shock at the realization that his old enemy truly has changed...

Liu Kang stands up... he is surprised, but also happy to see that Raiden has returned, Kung Lao stands up as well and he gets similar feeling. Kitana is also pleased... Raiden orders them to attack Kahn... while he prepares to stop him for good... Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kitana all give Kahn one last attack and Rain finally finds the courage to attack Kahn knocking his helmet off, the 4 encircle Kahn who replies weakly...

Shao Kahn: You pathetic mortals cannot hurt me...!

But Raiden shoots him with a blast of lightning causing Kahn to scream in pain as he is sent flying, he hits the ground, motionless. (Author’s Note: Whether or not he’s dead... I’m not going to tell you just yet... :p) The 4 turn to Raiden, however little do they know that they are not speaking to the Thunder God, Raiden, they are speaking to the One Being...

Well, Kahn has been defeated, but is he dead? hehe. The battle with Onaga has started and soon Liu Kang and Kung Lao will realize that their mentor is no longer the same...

I think it's pretty well done. I like the reference to MK Annihilation with Jax defeating Motaro with the use of his own skills and strength as opposed to relying on the bionic arms. I'm glad you had Tanya killed off. I can't wait to see more. Good stuff.

I was just about to say that. Great stuff
Kabal with a rush of adrenaline finishes Mavado off... then as soon as Mavado falls, Havik appears and congratulates Kabal on his victory, but Kabal angrily declares that he knows that it was Havik who saved Mavado. Havik says that it was necessarily to keep the scale of chaos going. Kabal attacks Havik, who jumps back and says “Ah, good. You have inherited the ways of Chaos quite well...”

Sonya fights with Kano, she appears to be winning, but Kano cheats by throwing dirt in her eyes, he takes this opportunity to hit her with a cannonball attack and she falls back stunned. Kano prepares to rip her heart out, but Johnny Cage arrives and saves Sonya... Kano falls back, and Johnny Cage helps Sonya up... “Did I did something useful?” Sonya smiles back. “Forget I even said that...” The couple seems to be about ready to kiss, but then Kano knocks Cage back with another cannonball attack and resumes the attack on Sonya. Upset that he might’ve hurt Johnny Cage, Sonya resumes her fight with Kano... eventually she gets him into a leg lock and takes him to the ground...

Kano: No Sonya! Don’t! Aw, give me a break.
Sonya: OK. (twists her legs and breaks his neck)

Sonya walks over to Johnny Cage, and helps him up... however, the two knew that this is not the time to make out and head to Onaga’s throne room where they soon join the battle that is already transpiring...

The warriors each try to battle Onaga... but despite his weakened form, he is still very powerful. Shujinko goes one-on-one with the Dragon King, but he is thrown aside...

As Liu Kang and the others look at Raiden, he suddenly transforms... his clothes become black and his eyes turn from blue to red. Liu Kang and Kung Lao are shocked at the transformation, as are Kitana and Rain. Raiden quickly knocks out Rain and then Kitana with more blasts of lightning...

Liu Kang and Kung Lao then realize that this is not Raiden... Liu Kang angrily demands to know this imposter’s identity. “It is I, the One Being.” The voice says. The One Being then gives Liu Kang and Kung Lao an offer to serve as his generals. “You two were my greatest students.” He says, speaking to them using Raiden’s voice. Kung Lao declares that they won’t. The One Being lets out a sigh and says he is disappointed, after all he was the one who resurrected Liu Kang... with that he attacks both of them, wounding them both... the One Being walks in to kill Liu Kang, but he finds himself unable to... he leaves, knowing that Raiden is still trying to fight his control.

Kung Lao gets up, and upon seeing that Liu Kang is unconscious and possibly hurt, Kung Lao takes his unconscious body away, just as Kitana and Rain regain consciousness. Kitana cannot find Liu Kang or Kung Lao anywhere and wants to go look for them, but Rain drags her out saying that they’ll have to catch up. Just as they leave, Kung Lao runs back in to find them, but they are gone.

Onaga has the upper hand against the heroes, just then he is frozen and a spear hits his body... Scorpion uppercuts him and knocks him back. Everyone is surprised as Scorpion and Sub-Zero join the battle. “Scorpion and Sub-Zero working TOGETHER? Man, it’s been one crazy week.” Johnny Cage remarks. Just as the battle prepares to start again, Sareena has had a change of heart and attacks Onaga.

Meanwhile, Kabal tries to snap Havik’s neck all the way so that he’ll die, but he can’t bring himself to do it... Havik expresses disappointment in Kabal and twists his neck all the way until he dies... Kabal then realizes that his true destiny is as an Earthrealm Chosen Warrior and heads to join the battle against Onaga...

When Kabal arrives, Shujinko asks that everyone lend him their power so he can defeat Onaga once and for all... the fighters comply as Shujinko takes on their powers. When he is finished, he uses Onaga’s own gift against him... Shujinko quickly overpowers Onaga and delivers the final blow... Onaga is killed, his lifeless body falls to the ground...

Shujinko collapses to his knees in exhaustion, just then the ceiling bursts apart and Raiden floats down... The Warriors are all surprised to see Raiden and his new look... just as Raiden lands, he thanks them for bringing the Kamidogu to him... Shujinko then realizes that this is not the Thunder God... Raiden introduces himself as the One Being... just then the Kamidogu rise up and float around him. The One Being expresses thanks to Shujinko for being the one to bring the Kamidogu to him as Shujinko realizes that he and Onaga were both deceived by the One Being... the One Being then gives Shujinko a gift of gratitude... he fires his lightning at Shujinko full force, Shujinko is quickly killed by the extreme shock and his old body cannot take much of this brutality... Shujinko’s lifeless body hits the ground much to the shock of the other heroes.

The One Being prepares to kill the rest, but Fujin teleports in and tells the other heroes to run for it, however he was too late to save Shujinko. Fujin turns to face Raiden, the two talk and shortly after an epic battle between the God of Thunder and God of Wind begins as the Kamidogu float up into the sky.

As the heroes run across the lands of Outworld, they run into Kitana and Rain. Kitana quickly embraces her mother, but this is time for a reunion as Raiden and Fujin’s battle takes to the sky, both using their powers of lightning and wind to their fullest.

Liu Kang regains consciousness and Kung Lao tells him to take it easy, he’s not hurt, but just stunned. Liu Kang asks about Raiden and Kung Lao says that he does not know... Raiden left shortly after he knocked Liu Kang out... Liu Kang then remembers that Raiden resurrected him... Kung Lao says that they must stop Raiden to save the realms...

Liu Kang: Somehow, I think that deep down inside that monster is our old mentor.
Kung Lao: And that could very well make him more dangerous...

But Liu Kang thinks that the real Raiden is still inside fighting the One Being...

Reptile’s group hears the fighting and run outside the palace as it starts to collapse, the heroes watch the epic battle between Raiden and Fujin. The battle spans across Outworld, neither at an obvious advantage...

The Elder Gods watch from the Heavens... if Fujin loses, they may have to prepare for the worst, yet one Elder God suggests that perhaps the best hope relies on a mortal...

Blaze sees the battle and heads to help his master, however the battle between Raiden and Fujin nears its climax as with one final trade of powers... Raiden’s lightning overpowers Fujin’s wind and the Wind God is defeated. As the One Being stands over the defeated Fujin, the Kamidogu fly back down and he floats up into the air away from Fujin...

“It has begun...” the One Being declares as he raises his hands and lightning shoots out of his body in all directions. The heroes take shelter to avoid the lightning as it spreads all across Outworld...

We're almost at the end....

I believe Sheeva is dead, killed by Nitara, but I'm not sure... And I believe Goro and Kintaro are dead too...
Stryker is with the group, at the beginning of the story, Fujin recruited him and Kai to fight again, they met up with Shujinko a while back. Yes, Sheeva was killed by Nitara, Goro is dead, knocked off a cliff by Kung Lao and Kintaro was killed by Li Mei and Onaga was killed by Shujinko.
Fujin recovers and shields Earth’s warriors from the lightning while Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Kenshi dodge the lightning from their location, Kenshi makes his way to the sight of Raiden...

When the lighting stops, the One Being floats towards Reptile... “Give me the amulet.” He declares. Fujin tries to persuade Reptile not to... Reptile who doesn’t really give it to either of them, turns to leave. The One Being tells Reptile that with the amulet, who could resurrect the Raptors. Fujin tells Reptile that the One Being’s claims are a lie. Reptile does want his people to be resurrected, but Khameleon reminds him of all the lies that his previous masters. Reptile is indecisive, eventually the One Being grows impatient and decides to just kill Reptile, he sends his lightning at the Raptor, but Nitara pushes him out of the way and takes the blast herself. Fujin blasts the One Being back, just then Blaze arrives and tries to attack Earth’s Warrior, all avoid a fiery fate.

Johnny Cage: Did I mention that we have to deal with a giant who is on fire now too?
Sonya: (sighs) Might’ve been useful info.

Reptile walks up to the dying Nitara, he asks why she saved him... she says that it was her way of saying “sorry”... she then draws her dying breath. Reptile stands up and gives the amulet to Fujin...

Kenshi arrives and Reptile and Khameleon join the effort against the One Being, though the One Being does not have the amulet, he says that he could still transform into a semblance of his original form, albeit weaker and smaller. However, he needs time to complete the transformation and tells Blaze to hold off Earth’s warriors for the time being. As the One Being flies off with the Kamidogu, Blaze attacks Earth’s warriors, keeping them at bay...

Though the Earth’s warriors fight back against Blaze, none of them are able to deal any damage to him. Johnny Cage sees a nearby lake and idea forms in his head.

Johnny Cage: All right, I think I know how to beat him... without having to hit him...
Sonya: Acting like a moron is not going to work!
Johnny Cage: Then all is lost!

Johnny Cage leaps down and hits Blaze with a few green bolts, he taunts the giant, daring him to attack. Enraged, Blaze tries to hit Johnny Cage, but the movie star continues to dodge and taunt Blaze... daring him to follow.

Kitana: (shocked) Is he crazy?
Sonya: Oh yes...

Johnny Cage gets a good distance from the lake and taunts Blaze into attacking, Blaze leaps forward inadvertently stepping into the deep water, he sinks and is extinguished. The heroes are shocked, more so that it was Johnny Cage that defeated the giant.

Johnny Cage: All right! I finally saved the day, without making myself look like an idiot! (he turns around and walks straight into a huge rock.)

However, despite Blaze’s death, the One Being has had enough time to prepare his transformation, the ground transforms and swallows Raiden’s body, slowly the body of the One Being forms... and soon in a matter of minutes, the One Being is reborn, although in a smaller and weaker form, the One Being towers over the warriors, while the Elder Gods watch with horror from the Heavens and prepare themselves for an attack.

One Being: “The forces of heaven and hell cower in my presence. Ragnarok, Armageddon, and Apocalypse pale in comparison to what I embody. The mind cannot fathom my power and words cannot describe it. I am God. Fear my presence and taste my wrath.”

The One Being prepares to absorb what is around him, but decides to kill the heroes first, and begins an attack, the heroes overcome with fear at the One Being’s sheer presence run away in terror. Fujin tries to urge the warriors to fight back, but he is soon filled with despair... it appears all is lost...

Rain, however, upon noticing the others fear and remembering how he acted during the battle with Kahn, decides that he has had enough of this, he attacks the One Being... alone. Kitana urges him to stop, but he won’t listen. He hopes to inspire the others by doing so. Eventually the One Being grows annoyed with Rain and blasts him off. Kitana screams out his name, but Rain falls out of view...

Liu Kang and Kung Lao see Rain land and run over to him. Liu Kang asks Kung Lao about Rain’s condition, who only replies with a shake of the head. Rain looks up at the two; he knows that he is dying. Rain talks to Liu Kang and gives him his sword. His final request is to “take care of her”. Rain’s eyes then close. Liu Kang and Kung Lao take the time to bury Rain, placing his dagger on top, both hold a moment of silence for the fallen hero... With that, they head off to join the battle...

Rain’s one-man attack has succeeded in inspiring the others and they start to attack the One Being with everything they’ve got. However, the One Being is still too powerful for any of them to beat alone... Stryker and Nightwolf are the first casualties.

Just the One Being sends out tentacles at the warriors, but a hat cuts them off. Grabbing the hat, Kung Lao joins the battle, when the others ask where he’s been; the One Being attacks again, the blast is more than enough to kill all those who gathered, but a fireball shaped like a dragon dispels the blast... the explosion causes dust to scatter from the ground, as the heroes shield their eyes, they turn around... through the smoke... comes an old friend, one who was presumed to still be dead... Liu Kang returns...

Up next: The final battle concludes... or maybe not... I don't know. We're nearing the end. We've had many deaths (some of them pointless, but then again most of those pointless deaths were pointless characters, although some have been meaningful... some...) Anyway... what happened to Raiden? Find out next time on the next exciting episode of *pathetic imittation of dub Dragonball Z narrator voice* MORTAL KOMBAT! (Oh and um that One Being quote, I took from a quote of Unicron's from a Japanese Transfomers show... actually a lot of dialogue in these things is taken from movies, tv shows or other video games... I'm not very original I know...) wink

lmao!!! That made me laugh. What a surprise, Stryker and Nightwolf die.
They are all quite surprised to see Liu Kang again (with the exception of those who already knew), but this is no time for reunions as the One Being continues the attack. Liu Kang asks what happened to Raiden, Sonya says that he’s inside that thing. The One Being continues its attack again... Fujin starts to prove himself to be a worthy leader as he guides the warriors into battle. Liu Kang converses to Kung Lao about getting inside the One Being and finding Raiden, Kung Lao says that it would be difficult, but possible. Scorpion and Sub-Zero come up to them and say that their will give a distraction to allow them to get inside. Liu Kang and Kung Lao travel up a nearby cliff, in hopes they can get on the One Being’s back.

Kitana is grabbed by one of the One Being’s tentacles, but she is able to free herself with a fan throw, she hits the ground, stunned. The One Being throws a blast to finish off Kitana, Sindel leaps in the way of the blast, taking the blast full force, she lands beside Kitana... Kitana looks up to see that her mother has been fatally wounded...

Bo’ Rai Cho succumbs to his injuries and collapses, Li Mei runs over and holds the dying master in her arms... Li Mei whispers to herself that it’s her fault, but Bo’ Rai Cho assures her that there are casualties in battle and that he is proud of his accomplishments throughout his long life and that Li Mei shouldn’t blame herself, his last wish is for her to fight the darkness in her soul, with that he dies... Li Mei sheds a few tears while Sonya watches... realizing that she was wrong about Li Mei, Sonya helps her up, now determined to fight her own darkness.

Scorpion, Sub-Zero, along with Ermac do a trinity attack on the One Being; which allows Liu Kang and Kung Lao to leap onto it’s back. Digging a hole in the arm with their weapons, the two jump inside.

Kitana crawls over to Sindel... she starts to cry... but Sindel tells to not cry. Her only regret is that she abandoned her when she was a baby by committing suicide, Kitana says that there’s no reason to be sorry anymore... Sindel’s final words are that she is proud of Kitana and what a strong woman she’s become. The Queen of Edenia dies, as some of Kitana’s tears land on her body. Jade rests a comforting hand on Kitana’s shoulder.

Inside the One Being, Liu Kang and Kung Lao find themselves in a room surrounded by white light and the Kamidogu around them. “You shouldn’t have come here.” A voice says and Raiden comes down... ready to kill both of them...

Liu Kang: You’re not Raiden...
One Being: No, I’m not. The Thunder God is no more.
Kung Lao: No! I don’t believe that! (Liu Kang looks at Kung Lao in surprise)
One Being: Think what you will. You can’t stop me now! My power has returned. Soon the Elder Gods will know what it is like to have your very conscious ripped apart.
Liu Kang: But of all the hosts you could’ve had... why Raiden?
One Being: I saw his frustration with the Elder Gods... he was the perfect choice for my host to begin my vengeance on the Elder Gods... Shao Kahn, Shinnok, Onaga, all were merely the beginning. My voice echoes through the realms... I can’t be fully destroyed.
Kung Lao: I doubt that! There’s got to be a way to destroy you for good.
One Being: You are more foolish than I thought. All that has transpired over the past few years after Shinnok’s defeat. It was all my doing! I was the one who whispered to Quan Chi to align with Shang Tsung, I knew the sorcerer’s vendetta against you and Shao Kahn would lead to both of your demises. Once you were out of the way, I knew I had triggered the deaths of your fellow Earthrealm allies. However, Onaga schemed to return to the living and he was, by far, the most manipulative. It was then I discovered Raiden... and his anger with the Elder Gods... I knew he’d be perfect. Once Onaga succeeded in his resurrection, I told him of Quan Chi and to go to Shang Tsung’s palace in Outworld... my plan was a success, Raiden destroyed himself and his energies began to reform on Earthrealm, I knew I had my chance. I merged some of my energy into his and I quickly started to gain control of his body, I brought out his anger, made him blame the mortals. Although, Raiden was much less submissive than I expected...
(Liu Kang looks at Kung Lao, both are shocked.)
Liu Kang: What do you mean?
One Being: There was one thing I hadn’t planned. Raiden revived you as an act of defiance against me. Your return was not intended, but I did not feel it was too big an issue. Either way, you will all become part of me and I will be whole once more!
Kung Lao: No! You’ll have to kill us first before we let you get away with this!
Liu Kang: So everything’s been leading up to this...? Very well...
One Being: Your power is far below mine... not even the Champion of Mortal Kombat can stop me! You two will be the first...
Kung Lao: Just shut up already!
Liu Kang: This is it! Let’s go!

Liu Kang and Kung Lao begin their battle against their mentor and father figure, the fate of all realms depending on their victory.

The battle outside reaches a standing point outside; the One Being has paused from his advance on the remaining heroes, concentrating on his battle with Liu Kang and Kung Lao inside.

As Liu Kang and Kung Lao battle Raiden, Liu Kang tries to bring Raiden out, but the One Being continues to tell him that Raiden is gone... both Liu Kang and Kung Lao are nearly defeated... Liu Kang is about ready to give up, but Kung Lao gives a moving speech about all they’ve been through. (Author’s Note: the words can’t come to me, think of something like Sam said to Frodo at the end of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Besides, it would be too corny if I wrote it.)

Liu Kang stands up and says that he will let Raiden strike him down, Kung Lao is shocked at this suicidal gesture, just as the One Being is about to have Raiden finish Liu Kang off, he once again finds himself unable to... just then the Thunder God regains control of his body, but only temporarily... Raiden says that to destroy the One Being for good, the two of them must strike him down with all they’ve got....

Liu Kang: But Raiden... what’s going to happen to you? Will your energies reform like before?
Raiden: No, this time I will be gone for good. Not even I could survive an explosion of this magnitude.
Kung Lao: But... how can we bring ourselves to...
Raiden: Don’t worry. I will always live on through all of you. I am proud to have known both of you... and the others. Give them my apologies. But the time has come to say goodbye.
(Pause, Liu Kang and Kung Lao look unsure. Liu Kang prepares Raiden’s sword, while Kung Lao takes off his hat.)
Liu Kang: Well, goodbye again old friend.
(Both run forward, but Liu Kang stops, making Kung Lao stop.)
Liu Kang: No. Raiden, you ask for too much... I can’t destroy you...
(He collapses to his knees and gives a defeated sigh. Kung Lao looks sadly at Liu Kang; he is also expressing difficulty at doing such a thing.)
Raiden: There is no time for regrets... it is your duty, both of you, to defend Earthrealm and every other realm no matter the cost...
(Liu Kang stands up, he and Kung Lao turn to Raiden. With a yell of adrenaline, Liu Kang takes his sword and Kung Lao his hat and they both slash Raiden down the middle, the Thunder God does not yell as he starts to explode...)

Liu Kang and Kung Lao ran away as Raiden starts to explode...

Outside, the One Being screams with pain his body begins to implode. The heroes watch shocked as the One Being screams in pain... Liu Kang and Kung Lao barely make it out in time while the others watch silently as the One Being is destroyed for good...

The fight is over... next the epilogue, which will give the final fate of the survivors...

Hmm, well, it's pretty good. I really like the bits about how the reasoning for the One Being using Raiden. The Bo' Rai Cho and Sindel deaths do make sense. The one thing that confuses me is the destruction of the One Being. The One Being’s physical form forms back into the ground as the Kamidogu are destroyed inside of it. Raiden’s destruction has caused the One Being’s conscious to be destroyed permanently... he is silenced forever. The others keep an eye out for Liu Kang and Kung Lao, but there is no sign of them... Kitana almost starts to cry again, feeling now that she has lost the two most important people in her life: Liu Kang and her mother.

Exhausted, Liu Kang and Kung Lao sit on the top of a cliff... neither saying a word. The shock of having to destroy Raiden has impacted them both. As the two mourn, they receive one last message from the Thunder God... who once thanks them for everything and assures them to move on... (Author’s Note: Yeah, face it. I suck at dramatic dialogue. I’ve learned that many times...) With that, the two heroes of the battle go down to greet their friends.

As the others prepare to mourn their losses. Sonya notices someone walking towards them, Kitana and the others look up and they see Liu Kang and Kung Lao walking towards them. Kitana and the others run towards the exhausted, but triumphant heroes. Kitana leaps into Liu Kang’s arms, who twirls her around for a second. Kai greets Kung Lao for the first time in many years, while the other heroes take turns congratulating both Liu Kang and Kung Lao separately. Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sareena, Reptile, Khameleon and Ermac watch the merriment from afar. Scorpion teleports away for a moment, bringing back with him the unconscious body of Shao Kahn...

The celebrating stops and they all gather around the defeated Emperor. Kitana seems about ready to kill him, but Scorpion tells her that the Elder Gods have something planned for him... just then down from the Heavens, the Elder Gods descend, Fujin stands before the Elder Gods and bows before them... the Elder Gods tell the heroes to stand back... it is finally time that they judge Shao Kahn... they cannot excuse waiting so long...

(Shao Kahn is lifted up by the Elder Gods’ powers, he regains consciousness and is shocked to see the Elder Gods floating before him.)
Elder God: Shao Kahn, you have served as the Emperor of Outworld for too long. Many have died and suffered under your rule... the realm of Outworld has become a barren wasteland and your tyranny does not stop with this realm...
Shao Kahn: How dare you judge me!
Elder God: In your conquests through the realms, you’ve decimated civilizations, all just to merge them with your own realm. In your conquest of Edenia, 2.4 million perished including its king, Jerrod. In your attempted conquest of Earthrealm, you have defied the rules more than once, though Earth’s warriors fairly defeated your warriors in the previous tournament you sought to take Earthrealm regardless, you revived Edenia’s queen, Sindel and used this to cross over to Earth... though the souls you took upon entering Earthrealm were eventually returned to their proper places, this cannot be overlooked. Now we shall judge.
(The Elder Gods all close their eyes as though they are speaking with their minds, then their eyes open rather quickly.)
Elder God: We have decided, the souls that you have devoured will be set free and your judgment will be passed now: permanent exile to the Netherrealm!
(Shao Kahn’s jaw drops in fear.)
Shao Kahn: You fools! You cannot seal me away! I am Shao Kahn...! I am... (he screams as every soul that he has ever absorbed is set free from his body, when all have been set free, Shao Kahn is flung through a portal, screaming as he falls into the lower reaches of the Netherrealm. The heroes are shocked to the spectacle that they have just witnessed. Eventually all turn to Fujin.)
Kitana: Could it be...?
Liu Kang: Fujin, does this really mean...?
Kung Lao: No more Shao Kahn?
Fujin: Yes, my warriors. Kitana’s father has been avenged. All those who lost their lives in this conflict can rest knowing that their sacrifices were not in vain. The battle is won. Shao Kahn is finished...

As Shao Kahn’s souls roam around the skies before ascending to the Heavens, Kitana looks around for one... it is then that a soul appears in front of her and materializes... it is Kitana’s father, King Jerrod. Jerrod recognizes his daughter and tells her that she has grown into a fine young woman. Kitana finally embraces her real father, she starts to cry again. (Tears of joy, of course. Ok, maybe sadness and joy.)

The Elder Gods then tell the heroes that they will be allowed to see the souls of the heroes that have been lost to say their last goodbyes, while they have special rewards in mind for Liu Kang and Scorpion.

Those souls descend from the Heavens... Sub-Zero meets with Smoke’s soul, who is finally in his human form again.

Smoke: I knew you’d do it.
Sub-Zero: Smoke...
(The two clasp their hands together)
Smoke: My soul is finally free from that body and I have to thank you for everything. One day, we will be reunited... until then, my spirit will always be with you... go in peace, Sub-Zero.

Sareena finds that Ashrah’s soul is allowed to ascend to the Heavens due to her part in stopping Noob Saibot, she tells Ashrah that she will use the Kriss well. Meanwhile, Sindel’s spirit meets Jerrod’s spirit and Kitana watches for the first and last time in her life, her parents embrace each other.

The Elder Gods tell Liu Kang that Raiden will be remembered for his sacrifice and honored among the Elder Gods, they admit that they were wrong about him and regret partially causing his loss and as a reward for his many years of sacrifice and heroics, they will grant him eternal youth and relieve him of the responsibilities of being the Mortal Kombat Champion. Liu Kang accepts and it is done. Scorpion is given a different reward, they say that they will cleanse him of the evil in his soul and allow him to ascend to the Heavens to be with his family, but should they do this, he must stay their Champion and should return to the realms again should he be needed. Scorpion accepts.

With that, the Elder Gods decide that it is time to leave. The souls ascend first and the heroes bid good-bye to their loved ones for the last time. As Scorpion prepares to leave, he is stopped by Sub-Zero.

Sub-Zero: Wait!
Scorpion: (turning around) Yes?
Sub-Zero: I just wanted to say... thanks... I couldn’t have defeated my brother without your help.
Scorpion: (pause) It was nothing.
Sub-Zero: Underneath the ninja specter, there truly is a good man fighting for his family. I see that now more than ever. You have true honor Scorpion.
Scorpion: (not used to be thanked, Scorpion pauses again.) Don’t worry about it. Besides, I did owe you an apology for being foolishly deceived into going after you...
Sub-Zero: (pause) What happened to Quan Chi?
Scorpion: Don’t worry. The bastard got what he deserved. I suspect he’s just another tortured soul in the pits of the Netherrealm.
Sub-Zero: Really? Well, good riddance I say.
Elder God: Scorpion, it is time to go.
(Scorpion nods as the Elder Gods start to ascend back to the Heavens leaving behind a beam of light. But before Scorpion steps through, he faces Sub-Zero one last time and the two bow. Sub-Zero in Chinese style. Scorpion in Japanese style.)

With that, Scorpion steps into the beam of light, he does not look back as he ascends to the Heavens. Finally, his soul can rest easy... Finally, the two former enemies Scorpion and Sub-Zero have made peace.

Now that the fighting is over, several Outworld villagers approach the group. They believe Liu Kang has saved them again, however these are the same villagers who Johnny Cage told that he was Liu Kang. The real Liu Kang says that he did, but he did not do it without Kung Lao’s help. The villagers say “You’re Liu Kang?” Liu Kang replies with a slightly confused “yes”. The mob turns angrily to Johnny Cage, who grins nervously, the next thing Cage knows, he is running away from the angry mob... much to the bewilderment of his allies.

Some time later, at Edenian Palace, there is a celebration dance for the heroes that won the battle, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage (who managed to barely escape), Sonya and Jax attend. Kitana and Jade are the hosts of the celebration. Several of the heroes wear tuxedos (though Kung Lao is embarrassed while wearing one.) while Sonya, of course, wears a dress.

Jade: (walking by where Kung Lao is sitting a table.) What’s wrong with you?
Kung Lao: (sick) Outworld rich wine should be illegal.
Jade: In Edenia, it is.
Sonya: If that’s the case, how did you get it?
(Kung Lao doesn’t answer, instead he turns around and can be heard retching off screen)

Liu Kang speaks to Johnny Cage about pretending to be him, Cage apologizes, but he needed to do something to prove himself. Liu Kang forgives him, he says he understands and that Cage proved himself to be a valuable ally. Sonya comes over and once again, she apologies for saying such horrible things to him... and Cage asks Sonya to dance, who surprisingly says yes. Later, Jade pulls Liu Kang over and tells him that he is to dance with Kitana...

As Jade leaves Liu Kang alone, the lights dim out and everybody turns to watch as Kitana walks down from the high stairs, clad in a beautiful blue dress, she walks up to Liu Kang and the two begin to dance... the other heroes watch, Cage has his arm around Sonya (who doesn’t seem to mind) slowly as Liu Kang and Kitana dance, they slowly draw in closer... until finally for the first time, they kiss...

Epilogue:

Liu Kang and Kitana shortly after, finally were wed and crowned the new King and Queen of Edenia. The two shortly after had a son, who would eventually succeed his father as the next Champion of Mortal Kombat. Liu Kang would become regarded as a legend in the realms of Outworld, Edenia, and of course Earthrealm.

Jade was knighted by Queen Kitana and became the head of the Edenian armies and the protector of King Liu Kang and Queen Kitana.

Upon returning to Earthrealm, Sonya and Jax were promoted to Captain and Lieutenant Colonel respectively; they then spent their time tracking down the Red Dragon, soon the Red Dragon were eradicated just as their rivals, the Black Dragon were. Cyrax and Kenshi also returned to working for the Special Forces, both continue to serve the United States well.

Johnny Cage went back to making movies where he cancelled Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and fired Mokap for his incompetence, he then made Mortal Kombat: Armageddon which quickly became the most successful blockbuster of all time. Later on, in true Tarzan fashion, he swung into Sonya Blade’s office window, carrying an engagement ring and a dozen roses, however he couldn’t quite make the landing right and he hit her desk hard, but the fortunate thing is the ring and flowers turned out ok. Sonya accepted the proposal for marriage and loved the flowers. “You’re sweet Johnny. Clumsy, but sweet.”

Kung Lao and Kai returned to the Shaolin Temples, Kai having had a change of heart decided to become a Shaolin Warrior after all. After saying good-bye to their long-time friend Liu Kang. Kung Lao began to train a new generation of warriors to defend Earthrealm from any possible threats and finally retired from fighting to live in peace.

Mileena’s whereabouts remain unknown, there are many rumors circulating as the story of her masquerade as Kitana became well-known to the people of Edenia, some have heard that she enlisted a plastic surgeon in Earthrealm to fix her face and went on to live a normal life. (though some balk at this theory, claiming that no surgeon could fix that type of face) Some believe that after losing to Kitana, Mileena committed suicide. Nobody knows for sure...

Sub-Zero and Sareena returned to the Lin Kuei Temple, where after finding a few survivors began to rebuild. Despite his brother’s evil while as the wraith Noob Saibot, Sub-Zero found that the respect he had always had for his brother would never fully leave and created a grave for his older brother, leaving a flower and also forgave Scorpion for killing his brother with the knowledge that he had been partially deceived. When the Lin Kuei was back at full stength, Sub-Zero made it his mission to wipe out the rest of Tekunin, which had been sprung into leaderless chaos after Sektor’s death. Later on, Sareena left the Lin Kuei Temple determined to make a life of her own in Earthrealm.

In the Heavens, Scorpion finally reunited with his wife and son and when he removed his mask... he saw his real face...

Kabal moved to New York City, where he became a vigilante, he was the cause of New York’s lower crime rate in recent years.

Nobody knows what became of Reiko, but there have been rumors in Outworld of a mysterious masked man who is making sure that no Oni ever escape the Netherrealm again, he is also said to be wearing Shao Kahn’s armor.

Ermac broke the orbs that bound several realms to Outworld, weakening the One Being in the case that he would ever be revived, thus separating his conscience even more. He then became Outworld’s guardian, working to turn Outworld back into the beautiful land that it was before evil Emperors ruled.

Reptile and Khameleon returned to Zaterra where they mated and started a new generation of Raptors. They also established a peaceful co-existence with the Vampires and went on to live in peace.

Li Mei returned to her village where she was congratulated on her victory in the Deadly Alliance’s tournament. She worked for its recovery and built a statue of her fallen mentor Bo’ Rai Cho to honor him.

Fujin hid the amulet away again on Earth and had proven himself to be a successful leader and worthy successor to Raiden for Earthrealm’s Guardian, however he knew that he could never replace Raiden...

The Seidan Guardsmen heeded Hotaru’s last words and joined the Resistance in overthrowing the oppressive regime and established a new government, similar in ideals, but much less strict rules were made. They pulled out of the Chaosrealm, leaving them to their own ideals, leaving the people of Chaos very confused (and also angered) that the war had apparently ended.

Those heroes who lost their lives were given proper burials and a ceremony was held to honor them.

The villains got there just deserves as they were all condemned to the Netherrealm, Shinnok, now forever bounded to the Netherrealm did at least have something to look forward to this time, the traitor Quan Chi had been killed... Shinnok would enjoy torturing his pathetic soul.

While Shao Kahn, now stuck in the lower reaches of the Netherrealm, filled the dead realm with his cries of rage...

Now here I would have the credits roll with a touching song playing in the background like “At the Beginning” (Don’t know if you’ve heard it, but... it’s a touching song) and when the credits are done, we receive one last epilogue.

50 years after the first Mortal Kombat, the next tournament begins... we see statues of the original Kung Lao, Goro and Liu Kang. Then at the seat of the grandmaster sits Kung Lao, now an old man. (in his ‘60s or ‘70s) The finals are about to begin, we see a boy who looks similar to Liu Kang preparing for the match. Liu Kang and Kitana watch and cheer their son on as Liu Kang walks outside, saying that he has to see somebody.

On the tournament grounds, Liu Kang embraces his old friend Kung Lao. As they walk down the tournament grounds, they both recall their old adventures and scenes from Mortal Kombat to Mortal Kombat: Armageddon are shown to the gamer:

Mortal Kombat:
Goro defeating the original Kung Lao.
The first meeting of Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade.

Kitana defeating Mileena.

Flash back to Liu Kang and Kung Lao. Both turn to head back, Liu Kang however turns to the gamer and, like Goku at the end of Dragonball GT, (one of the only good episodes of that series) gives the player a finger salute and turns to follow Kung Lao as the screen fades to black.

THE END
