Thanks to Tim DaRosa, Natalie Salzman, Sarah (Natalie's assistant), Shinomune and Dan, we got some MKA-related questions answered.

Cool stuff Abismo. It kind of answers a couple of things here and there. However, I would've liked for the MK team to be inquired about MK: Shaolin Monks' story itself, namely if and how the numerous story and characterization problems would be rectified. If they truly haven't forgotten about the whole bios issue, I hope they do rectify it and give proper closure.

12) We are interested to know the status of the next MK movie. Little is known about it: it will reinvent the saga ala “Batman Begins” and supposedly the MK Team is involved in the script (as it should be in our opinion). Is the script based on the current MK mythology, or will it be based on MK8 to make it coincide with the release of the next fighting game? From an advertising perspective, this can potentially greatly augment sales and serve to truly reinvigorate the franchise!

The MK Team is definitely involved it the creation of the next MK movie script. We really don’t want to disclose too much about the story at this point of its development.

What really bothered me about this question was the question itself.I could care less if the mk team is involved with the story or not.I think the question everyone wants to know is.When the hell is the movie going to be made and is it really going to ever happen?Or a better question is,what happen? Why hasnt it be made yet?Who really owns the rights to the movie? Is threshold really just dicking us around or are they actually planing on really using the mk rights to its fullest?

Also you know what I hate about interviews like that?Is honestly the interview was pointless. And by that i mean it didn't really tell us anything that we didn't already know.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed reading it but there wasn't anything that was that important that was really answered in it.

Was the question about the render really that important that you had to reask something that was asked already?

Was that storyline from MKSM really again the most important question?

Was there really not 12 other better questions that could have been asked?

I know I am ranting on like they didn't do a good job.But there could have been better questions asked.I am glad someone asked something about the 3rd movie but it was a pointless question about it.Did you know that John Tobias helped write the script for the second movie and looked how that turned out.

Well, initially we think that we can put some questions about MK8, but this for now is impossible to question something, and then we re-wrote big part of the questions, and we took those that we believed that they were the best of our forum. With our limitations, we try to do the best and most varied selection of questions.

And if someone thinks that there were better questions, probably in a little time (I hope at least) there will be another Fight Night Chat in MKOnline, and there you will have the opportunity to expose it. smile

Btw, I want to thanks also to Tim DaRosa (Public Relations the first time that Dan contacted for the interview), and Natalie Salzman (actual PR) and her assistant Sarah to make posible this Q&A wink

We all understand how fans want to see bios for all of the remaining characters and certainly want to give them what they want. At the same time we have a very important obligation to getting the next-generation Mortal Kombat game ready for 2008. Trust us, there is a LOT of work involved with making next-gen titles. So, while we don’t expect to see additional bios pouring in, we certainly have not taken the approach that we are done. So please be patient, we haven’t forgotten about you!!

So basically...

1. We can't finish the last game because we're making the next game... which... will undoubtedly be a complete, fniished game this time. Honest.

2. There won't be any new bios but maybe if I give them hope they won't disown us.

And I'm sorry, but "Please be patient?" What's he talking about? The MK team has been given a free pass for over a year now. The fans *HAVE* been patient.

*stifles urge to keep ranting*

I'll just leave it at that.

Finally had a chance to interview the MK team as of late and they couldn't even ask about the status of the next-gen MK game? like when we'll actually expect to see some teasers and info? wtf, this lack of news on MK8 is really driving me impatient.

Of course we asked about that!!... and no MK8 questions were answered.

They make a lot of money giving exclusive information to magazines... that's why fansites don't get exclusive info.

Ed Boon has said some times that we will have the first teasers in the beginning of 2008:

So when are you going to start talking about the new Mortal Kombat game in full?

Ed Boon: It's probably not going to come out until then end of 2008, so I would imagine we probably wouldn't start talking about it until the beginning of 2008 maybe. So maybe another year or something like that. There's a lot of work, there's a lot of work that we're doing. The next-gen systems are so much work, it's overwhelming.

Umm ouch, this isn't good and i had to reread this. Before MKDA came out when got a teaser trailer over a year before the game came out. There is really nothing known to much about MK8 other then their using the unreal engine and a new fighting system. He said probably not until the end of 2008 and we are almost done with 2007 and still we really haven't got anything and have not seen nothing.I don't know guys,I get a bad feeling about mk8 already. If you can't wait to know stuff just call Midway and say your someone from some mag like game informer or egm or gamero and if you get ed or steve or someone from the game on the phone just be quick and ask 1 thing that is most important to you and see if they give you an answer. Here is the numbers 773-478-7561 and773-961-2000 and its not 961 its 461 i cant remember.

You'll probably need a bit more proof then that man ^^ lol

But this article is interesting, I knew my guess was right on with the bios/MK8 concept...

It all comes down to bios vs. MK8 being a better overall game more or less.

Anyway, interesting thanks for the cool interview.

I'm sure we will see more MK on the DS later on.

Say...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
MK4 and motor kombat? hehe

Like other years, probably at the end of the year or the beginning of the next (2008) we will have the first real info/concepts/trailers... Midway right now is focused in the UMK for NDS, probably after a month of his release, will begin to be centered in the MK8 smile
