posted09/27/2007 09:33 PM (UTC)byWhy is Human Smoke not playable in MK Armageddon...he rules. I made a KAF but its not the same. Why did midway add the likes of meat and Khameleon over Human Smoke...they practically don't have storylines...he does! Also the other characters like meat and C/Khameleon only ever appeared in one game other than MKA! Smoke has been in three...MKT, MK2 and UMK3. also the other characters could only be played by holding buttons or completing certain game modes. Smoke was a proper character, in MKT he had a picture on the select screen and everything. Remember, before Noob Saibot and Rain in MKT, and newer versions of UMK3, Smoke was regarded as the lord of cheap, he is much more well known that meat. If you ask anyone to think of their best combo before MKT no doubt they will think of smoke. It is not impossible for Ninja Smoke to return, sub zero could save him from his automation related mishap. I think that smoke has been treated rather unfairly. he was not featured in MKA...he should have been. Nor was he featured in MKSM...he should have been. so the next time you need someone to be a rip-off of scorpion...just remember...ol' smokey won't be around any more.

It wouldn't make sense. "Ninja Smoke", as you like to call him, has long been gone, hence why he isn't in MK: Armageddon. Khameleon and Meat do have stories, even though they are rather small stories. And besides, to put Ninja Smoke in would be to also put in characters like MK1 Raiden, MK2 Jax, etc. etc.

I'd replace Meat with human smoke.
No offence Meat fans, but he just scares.

What puzzles me is why they call nanotech Smoke a ninja?

I guess it's because his costume design has somewhat of that male ninja costume type design, with the vest and all that.
Personally, to call characters like him a Ninja is a bit erroneous. The sound of "Lin Kuei Ninja" doesn't make any sense.
i agree with pumkin king
or at least human smoke should have been unlockable somehow
and all the ninjas should have had 1costume like in the old games where they all looked the same but different colors
that's what i wanted
because to me rains primary is just super gay

You misunderstood. Smoke is no longer a human. His MKD alternate/MKA primary look is his modified cyborg look, the form that he took when Noob Saibot reactivated Smoke's nanotechnology. When his nanotechnology was reactivated, it repaired and reshaped Smoke's body, making it into what it is now.

i kno but the game said thats his cyborg body the makers of the game said they brought human smoke back go to youtube.com and search for "mortal kombat smoke bio

I know. I have the trading cards on the premium edition and they said his MKD Alt/MKA Primary is his human form.
I never thought it was his human form because of the robo-mask he wears but when they said so, I was like "oh. didn't catch that before."
It doesn't feel like a human form to me. A cybornetic face must mean he's a cyborg, right? It's because of his face/head that it doesn't feel like a human form.

Yeah, his trading card bio does kind of imply that his MKD alt costume is his classical look, but I think that they may have had an early story concept for him that's different from the one he had in the final version.
It's not just the mask, but also the fact that his body is made up of nanoids is a giveaway. I guess without looking at the bios and endings, some may think that his MKD alt look is his human form but evolved or something. Either way, his human self is gone though perhaps the nanoids in his body could synthesize a human form. But then again, I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to nanotechnology, so I could easily be wrong about that.

Everyone is Gay for Smoke.

I dont play with smoke that much but I still play with him but I play with him more on UMK3 because of his spear and disappearence and air throw

Alright so Smoke's primary costume is the ninja outfit that Midway was referring to. He's got the vest with the pants and the Lin Kuei-ish looking mask. That's "ninja" Smoke for ya. He will never be human again so we're stuck with the robot. The End.
On a side note all of the robots (Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke) are ninjas, hence why they are in the top row with the rest of the ninjas, they're just a little technologically advanced.

In regard to the comment about adding ninja smoke would be like adding human reptile I would like to point out that reptile was never human, he wore a mask but now his face is distorted to the point he can no longer wear it. also though reptiles appearence has changed his movelist is more or less the same. Human smoke and cyborg smoke are very different indeed, and also the excuse that they couldn't possiby be in the same game as they are the same person is not a valid excuse. Hmmm, Onaga and reptile are the same person as onaga used reptiles body therefore reptile and onaga could not be in the same game. And lets face it MKA isn't really canon...half the characters are dead. Also midway stick characters who couldn't possibly be in the same game together all the time...like smoke and human smoke in UMK3...or Noob Saibot and Classic Sub-Zero in UMK3. If you think about it their is no reason for human smoke not to be in MKA...

I think the MKD cards say that his MKD alt is his human form because of the way they made him look in MKSM. Have you seen how he looks in MKSM? He looks just like the MKD alt smoke.

100% true, so I don't know why it's such a big surprise having human and cyborg Smoke in the same game, even though his "human" costume doesn't even feel like a human costume, to me. Just an alt robot look.

Human Smoke is in Armaggedon. Cyber Smoke is his secondary costume.
