Overall, I think the game needs something fresh while at the same time somehow returning to the mystery and mysticism of the best in the series, MK2. Also, I think the gameplay needs more depth and more content. I feel this is where MK:DA fell short. One fatality per character just wasn't cutting it and I felt I was left wanting more from the game. Here are just some ideas for my MK6 wishlist:
1) Multiple endings. I feel that the actual gameplay should have an effect on the outcome of the game. For example, if Jax performs a fatality on Sonya, then Jax should not live happily-ever-after with Sonya. In general, a character should have a number of endings and each ending should have a checklist of requirements, i.e. for ending 1, a characters must perform a friendship on character A and kill off characters B,C and D. This would definitley add some depth.
2) MK:DA desperately needed stage fatalities. There's so much that can be done with this. Also, I really liked the ability to uppercut your opponents to the level above in MK3. I think this should be brought back, improved upon and varied. I recall one of Jax's combos in MK3 where the last hit was a sort of vertical uppercut where the character was sent flying in a vertical direction. I think that this "vertical uppercut" can be added that would allow in some stages to break through walls and enter into another room. Perhaps, this could be a way of discovering secret rooms and secret characters. So overall, I think this sort of stage to stage connectivity would add something fresh and add a different element to the game.
3) I agree wholeheartedly with another post that mentioned Shang Tsung missing something in MK:DA, i.e the morphing ability. However, I think that Shang Tsung should NOT begin with the abiltiy to morph into everyone and have everyone's powers. My understanding of his powers (although I could be wrong) is that he steals his opponents souls and then acquires the abilities of the fallen. This just makes more sense. SO to incorporate this into the game, Shang Tsung should have a special "soul/ability steal" fatality. For example, Shang Tsung would have his normal abilities, such as the fireballs, for the first fight. Then the player can choose to perform this special fatality that would allow him to steal the opponent's move(s)/fatality(s)! For example, if he fights Sub-zero and steals his soul, he could morph into Sub-zero the next round and perform his ice-blast move and/or spine rip fatality. I feel that this would add an almost RPG kind of element to the game in the sense that Shang Tsung would be improving his abilities. This is just like leveling-up in an RPG.
Of course I also agree with some of the other posts' suggestions. MK:Deception could benefit from a good mix of classic characters and new characters that are dark and mysterious with rich, complex story lines. Also, I feel that one thing that has been lacking in the series since MK2 is ferocity! We need more jaw-dropping fatalities. I want to see Baraka jump on his victims and claw and chew him to pieces!!! This was Mortal Kombat's claim-to-fame from the beginning and the series has slowly drifted from it. I just hope MK6 isn't a big disappointment like MK:DA was. Anyone for a MK2 Part 2?!

To remake the effect in full 3d of MK3's ceiling blasts would be a crazy feat. I think the models and overall engine would need some serious tweaking.
I also think they should make the combos as freestyle as possible and as manual as possible - with better incorporation of special moves and possibly combo-special moves only seen in combos like combo starters, enders, and extenders - "Sub Zero would slide into his opponent using B,BLK+LP+LK then holding forward pressing HK then LK for a kick combo then QCF for an icy fisted uppercut to start the juggle." Of course this could be variated in many ways including a stance change thus giving you a whole set of new combo extenders.

I have read quite a bit of these ideas and they are some pretty good ideas so I might as well put my 2cents in.

They need to bring back all of the things that were in UMK3, because that was the best game IMO.
And most important, Shang Tsung needs to have the morphing ability. He is practically useless without it!

wouldn ́t it be great to see: your fighter knocks the enemy through a wall, and behind this wall another fighter is sitting at a table, having a meal. he looks at you, saying: u disturbed my lunch, you have to die!! and then you have to fight him, and he ́s really hard to beat.
or same thing, but behind the wall ́s something like a jail with an imprissoned fighter. so you rescued/unlocked him !?!!?

What they need to do in the new Mortal Kombat game is make it more realistic. In all the old games, Sub-Zero does a freeze and you block it. It should be like when he does it, your arms will get frozen. When Scorpion does that "Get over here" move, It can injure the opponents arms for a while. Who agrees with me that they should fix those?

Without blocking special moves, there would be no arcade aspect. If you wanted the guys arms to freeze it should just be a frost on the arms that melts off.. if you try and attack *right away then you do minimal less damage. If you really wanted to get technical then you could throw in special reversals and make everyones different - Ex: Jax lunges both fists at sub zeros iceball to just make it explode - or Kung Lao dodges scorpions spear with a head fake but grabs the end of it and pulls scorpion to him. You could make the same kinda move with someone else thats fast only they do something different to catch the spear.
I think an Evil Liu Kang is an awesome character idea.. it reminds me of Akuma.. I could really imagine Liu Kang with black pants again and a bright red dragon on them with the chinese symbol for evil or something of that nature on a leg.. with long hair and bright white eyes. Never saw a Bruce Lee incarnated character gone evil. "I hope they put the bass sound back into the hard hits and puches." - Hell yea, and more agonizing screams and variate them.

Bring back the running, or add a dash function as seen in Bloody Roar. There definately should be charge-attacks you can do out of running, like making a far jump kick or a dashing punch.
Character-wise, I'd like to see

I dont know if someone has post this but: Make the game ONLINE enable. How cool would that be to fight fellow kombatants all over the world and even make ur own fighting clans!!! Ex Endurance rounds when A player dies B player comes while the other player still has the same lifebar, that's endurance for you all!!! Also we need 2 fatalitys, animalities will be great in this console generation I think they can be made really cool.Babalities and friendships well I dunno.
We also need Kabal, Noob, and Smoke back cause they where cool characters anyway also bring back toasty!!Well thats my 2 cents, anyone agrees with me on MK6 been online enable?

Here's my two cents on what MK6 should be like.
Gameplay: I thought MK:DA was way to cartoonish. The next game should have a really dark feel to it. Some of the levels were just to bright in MK:DA and it took away the evil feel. The graphics were really good, but I thought they could be improved just a little. I liked how they did the menu screen on MK:DA also, and I think they should also use that in MK6.
Characters: I want to see alot of old characters brought back in this game, but in a way where they actually fight into the story line. Each character should have more alternate costumes, like in Dead or Alive, like four. The fighting styles should be kept the way they are, but characters should have an alternate weapon, like a little dagger they could pull out that wouldn't do as much damage as the main weapon.
Levels: I pretty much liked the levels on MK:DA, but I would like for them to be more interactive, like more stuff to destroy, or even throw at the enemy! In MK6 I think they should have a level for mostly all main characters, so we could have more places to choose from. Or maybe like a couple stages from each area. (For example, three from Earthrealm, two four from Outworld, ect.)
New Things to do: I hope to see some sort of story mode in MK6, where you could travel along the person's history for that game. It would be like something from Tekken's Tekken Force. A create-a-character option should be made because this would be the s**t! I'm sure most every MK fan wants this to be included!
Secrets: The secrets from MK:DA need to be improved in the next game. I don't want cheesy crap to just look at such as MK pajamas! I want something I do with! Such as more hidden characters, rounds, costumes, and more. I liked the parody stuff, so don't take that away! (Ex: Cooking with Scorpion, lifeguard Sonya)

Keep the most of the fighting styles in MK:DA, but have a better method of switch styles. If Kitana is returning, give the poor girl some better styles. (Note: I miss Raiden's torpedo kick, but I could see how it didn't really fit.)

i would like multi-tiered arenas, and not like in the old ones where you punch through the ceiling. like in the 1st movie when tsung and kang fought, there were different levels. that would be cool.
