By request, here is Liu Kang's ending. This is one of those endings that also has many other characters' endings or partial endings within it (thus its great length). You'll know what I'm talking about at the end! wink

~ LIU KANG ~

The scene starts as the screen films an area at the first level of the pyramid. We then see a pair of boots step onto the scene, and as the screen rises, it reveals none other than Shang Tsung, who seems to be carefully making his way across the pyramid unnoticed. He reaches the far end of it and carefully looks down at the earth below. The screen shows us what he sees: Shao Khan and Onaga locked in fierce kombat. We get a close-up shot of Tsung's face, his eyes wide with fear at the sight of Khan. Immediately, he puts his back to the pyramid's wall in hopes that neither the emperor or the Dragon King take notice of his close presence. Shang Tsung then takes a deep breath, and looks up to the very top of the pyramid. As the screen once again reveals to us his vision, we see a swirling string of fire being emitted from the pyramid's very top. The sorcerer now looks to his side and notices a large flight of stone stairs leading to the pyramid's top. With one final look around him showing that he remains unnoposed, Tsung starts dashing up the stairs. He climbs a considerably long distance... before two iron hooks cut through the air and sink down on his shoulders.

Tsung screams in both pain and horror as the hooks sink deeper and start pulling him backwards. He tries with all his might to hang onto the ledge of the stone steps, but eventually is overpowered by whatever source is controlling the hooks. Tsung is sent tumbling down the flights of stairs he had previously climbed, and eventually lands back onto the third level of the pyramid. We get a close up shot of him as he struggles to get back onto his feet. As he does so, the screen reveals Liu Kang's reanimated corpse standing just behind him. When the sorcerer angrily turns around to face his attacker, the screen spins as well to show us the expression of pure terror that overcomes his pale face. Liu Kang slowly makes his way towards the petrified Shang Tsung.

Shang Tsung: "Im...impossible! I killed you!"

Liu Kang replies with a fierce battle cry, and without warning, charges at his murderer with his Flying Kick. Having no time to dwell in the possible causes of his enemy returning to the world of the living, Tsung evades the oncoming kick and an intense battle commences, both fighters desperately trying to land a hit. Shang Tsung throws two exaggerated punches towards Liu Kang, who ducks them both and uppercuts the sorcerer. Before Tsung can bounce back into action, Liu Kang follows up the assault with a spinning kick to his stomach and a backhand jab that strikes the sorcerer directly in the face; the scene slows down as Tsung is sent flipping through the air and finally falls on his head onto the stone surface. Refusing to accept defeat at the hands of his monstrous adversary, Shang Tsung delivers a hasty leg sweep to Liu Kang, who in turn, falls to the floor as well. He then attempts to stomp on his fallen opponent, successfully landing one hit, but failing to follow up as the former Shaolin Warrior catches his leg during his second stomp and throws the sorcerer backwards. Tsung tumbles down yet another flight of stairs and falls to the pyramid's second level.

He has only time to look back up to the third level and see Liu emit another vociferous shout, then throw himself down towards the second level. Tsung is met with a devastating kick to the face as he tries to stand back up. While on the floor, he wipes his face with his long sleeve, which gets covered in blood as he does so. This infuriates Shang Tsung deeply. As Liu Kang approaches him intending to continue overpowering his opponent, Tsung waves his hands in the air and conjures two fireballs out of thin air, which shoot towards Liu Kang from the sides. Without even glancing at them, however, Liu shoots his own fiery projectile at the two incoming fireballs; when they meet with his, all four burst in a string of flames. Shang Tsung snarls angrily, slamming his fist on the stone surface beneath him, while Liu simply stares at him blankly, his gaunt face lacking any expression whatsoever.

Shang Tsung: "Whatever you are, you still posess the same abilities as the human you once were..." (He slowly gets back onto his feet as he speaks, Liu Kang still gaping at him). "But I refuse to accept defeat at the hands of an abomination such as yourself!"

Shang Tsung suddenly wraps himself in a strange green mist that overtakes his entire body; when the mist disappears, there stands Princess "Kitana" in his place. "Kitana" walks over to Liu carefully, who stands his ground, his face still vacant. Once "she" is close enough, "Kitana" quickly sends a roundhouse kick to Liu Kang, who ducks the attack as though he was expecting it. When "Kitana" fails to land two more of her attempted kicks, Liu is quick to react as a speedy combination of his punches hit its target. The countless blows knock "Kitana" back once more and causes the green mist to overtake "her" body, leaving a Shang Tsung with a black eye and a gash on his left cheek growling at Liu. The frantic sorcerer's rage cast a shadow on his good judgement: he surrounds himself with a green mist once more and, soon enough, "Kung Lao" charges at Liu aimlessly kicking and uppercutting the air. The emotionless Liu encounters no great difficulty in evading these attacks, and once again delivers a combination of attacks to his distraught opponent; his blows continuously bear down on "Kung Lao", "Bo' Rai Cho", "Sonya Blade", and even "Johnny Cage". After the continuing attack, all that reamains is Shang Tsung himself, as he falls to the ground forcefully yet again.

Shang Tsung: "Damn! This creature lacks any sort of emotion or sentimentality..."

Liu Kang now continues to walk towards Shang Tsung, who backs away, realizing he does not have the means to defeat this repulsive being.

Just then, we suddenly get a shot of the former Elder God Shinnok as he falls inside a strange, blazing crimsom portal on a sandy terrain, shouting in rage, then finally disappears inside of it, the portal closing up once he sinks in.

When the screen goes back to the fight between Liu Kang and Shang Tsung, we surprisingly enough see Liu clutch his chest, gasp with a sickening sound, then fall to the floor as though someone had just knocked him down. Tsung looks at this with surprise for a brief moment, then smiles giddily. He stands and leisurely makes his way over to Liu Kang, who seems to be in great pain.

Shang Tsung: "And to think you were almost defeating me..." (He punt-kicks Liu's face arrogantly, blood rushing from his cadaverous face). "It seems as though history really has a peculiar way of repeating itself..."

Shang Tsung grabs a hold of Liu's head, and grinning widely, snaps his neck as he had done during their last battle. He then looks down at the defeated body of Liu Kang, assuming him to be dead once more. To his amazement, however, Liu sits back up (his head facing backwards), grabs his head, and snaps it back into place. He then attempts to rise back up with a blow to Shang Tsung; his punch, however, lacks power. Shang Tsung blocks it without even making an effort, then strikes Liu's face with his right fist. The suddenly-weakened warrior is soon lying on the floor again. Hoping to not allow his adversary another chance to attack, Shang Tsung takes out his Straight Sword.

Shang Tsung: "Back to hell, you nauseating beast!"

Just as Tsung is about to sink his sword on the decaying flesh of Liu Kang's reanimated corpse, a Katana is suddenly driven through his midsection. He shouts in pain and awe, and once it is taken out by his attacker, he spins around to see Kenshi, blood running down his weapon. Tsung tries to overcome the excruciating pain from Kenshi's surprise assail and charges at the blind swordsman. They begin a weapon kombat, their swords clinging againt each other, but Tsung soon starts to get worn down by his injury; he kneels down on the floor and clutches his stomach.

Kenshi: "After all this time, I will finally get the chance to slay you for all you've caused me! My only regret is that I won't be able to see your lifeless body."

Shang Tsung: "Bastard!"

Tsung swipes at Kenshi's left leg with his Straight Sword, cutting the swordsman, who staggers sidways. He then hurls a fireball at Kenshi's right hand. As his hand is engulfed by the flames, Kenshi is forced to drop his Katana to the floor. Before long, the flames disappear, but by then it is too late for Kenshi to recover his fallen weapon. Shang Tsung struggles to stand up as best as he can, then prepares to bring his sword down on his attacker. As the blade closes in on its target, Kenshi quickly defends himself with his telekinetic energy. The sorcerer's hands and Straigth Sword glow bright green, and an unseen force seems to be holding his weapon in place. Tsung fights to bring his weapon down on Kenshi, but it seems all of his might is not enough to overcome the bizarre energy opposing him.

It is then that Shang Tsung is hit in the back by Kung Lao, who knocks him down with his Whirlwind Kick. The Straight Sword slides across the floor and stops near Liu Kang's motionless body. The sorcerer is overcome by unbearable pain, having suffered too many injuries already. He hurls another one of his projectiles towards Kung Lao, who dodges it without a problem. Realizing uninevitable defeat, Shang Tsung attempts to crawl away from the scene. Kenshi retrieves his weapon.

Kenshi: "You're not going anywhere, sorcerer! Stay and face your imminent end with whatever dignity you have left!"

Shang Tsung continues to try and escape the area, but his injury stops him from going much further. Certain that he will attempt to flee even when at the brink of death, Kenshi leaps towards Tsung shouting determinedly, and brings his Katana crashing down on the sorcerer, slaying him as the blade deprives him of what life he has left inside of him. The sorcerer is finally dead...

Kenshi falls to his knees, exhausted, his leg filled with stinging pain.

The screen now shifts position to show us Kung Lao, who is staring down at Liu Kang's reanimated body with both astonishment and anguish clear on his face. Liu Kang tries to get back up, moaning and groaning as though suffering greatly. Kung Lao backs up as he stares wide-eyed at what has become of his long-time friend.

Kung Lao: "What has happened to you, Liu?"

Liu Kang looks at Kung Lao without emotion, then tries to attack him with feeble movements that are far from menacing.

Kung Lao: "This is not you!"

Liu moans frighteningly once again. Kung Lao takes off his hat.

Kung Lao: "The least I can do is allow you to rest in peace..."

He grips his razor-rimmed hat tightly, then forces himself to hurl it at Liu Kang. The hat's sharp rim slices the corpse's head clean off, and his horrid body falls onto its back, completely lifeless...

PICTURE: On the picture, we see the legendary Wu Shi Academy. Kung Lao is standing in front of a large group of fighters, apparantly training them. To the left, we see a transluscent image of Sonya Blade, Jax standing behind her. To the right of the picture, we see Sub-Zero, a group of Lin Kuei warriors standing behind him. On the clear sky above the Academy, one can see Liu Kang's face as he looks down at this scene.

----- Kung Lao was responsible for ridding the world of the repellant killing machine that had become of Liu Kang's body, and consequently, took care of the only problem still keeping his former companion's spirit from ascending into the Heavens. Although he had left his place in the Earthrealm, Liu Kang would continue to keep his gaze onto it, watching over the realm from afar and providing his former allies with the proper inspiration to keep it safe from all future harm. The memory of Mortal Kombat's former champion would never be forgotten by the realm he so readily dedicated his life to protecting... -----

________________

As you can see, Liu Kang's ending also showed the final moments of both Kung Lao and Kenshi, even though the final picture focused on him. If you guys remember well, Kenshi was battling Jarek in assisting Sonya before. It is after that scene that he went after Shang Tsung. I don't know if it's worth it to still write an ending for Kenshi and Kung Lao (considering 90%+ of it was shown here). Still, more to come!

Hope you guys enjoyed this ending as well, it is pretty big, but you can see why. Hopefully everyone also got the "hints" in this ending that concern Liu Kang coming back to life. Let me know what you guys think! glasses

Whoa that was pretty sweet I gotta admit. I didn't expect it to end the way it did but I enjoyed it. What sucks is that Liu Kang had to die that way, but who better than to end his misery than his greatest ally. Kung Lao is truly honorable for that, and that's why he's my favorite character of MK. My suggestion if it's worth anything, is that you should still make an ending for Kung Lao and Kenshi but you can add a little bit and copy and paste. That way in case some people wanna read Kenshi's and not Liu's etc. It's up to you though. But this ending was tremendous.

I believe I caught the hints onto the whole reanimation thing and I'm very glad that you did it this way. I don't wanna spoil it for anyone else, but I can't wait until you do "his" ending, it should be interesting to see it connect. Amazing work, I very much anticipate who's next.

I know you probably expected him to come back, but if I keep everyone alive, then we'll probably have 70+ characters next gen. And by his soul, I suppose you mean his spirit self? And if so, yes I have mentioned it in the final picture. I felt Liu has served his purpose to its extent, so much that the MK Team had to kill him and "zombify" him. In my personal opinion, no point in keeping this "twist" for next-gen, and no point in keeping human Liu in next-gen, so I thought it best to kill him off and let him stay dead. Sorry that it had to be your fave character.

To everyone else, thanks for the feedback, opinions and thoughts concerning this ending. I'm noting who you guys want to see endings of, and will do my best to get to them all as time permits. I agree Liu's ending was pretty sad, etc., but I just thought it best to end it.

Shang_Tsung47, I will definately try and do what you suggested when it's coming time to end it all. It's a nice way to sum it all up. Just do your best to try and connect each ending, noting who's dying and catching hints of who's going to be killed off in the end by the way their appearences have been happening. smile

More on that will come up on Shinnok's and Raiden's endings (whichever one gets one first).

JediSith and Zephyrus, noting that. Can't guarantee when, though, due to the other characters "in line".

Thanks for comments, guys! I'll keep reading and responding to most of them until it comes time for another ending! tongue

Another top-notch ending. It's a final FMV that actually has a note of finality to it.

You also managed to put in multiple characters, without it feeling too cluttered and confusing.

Well done, and your writing style is as captivating and detailed as ever.

Exactly what I was thinking....

The way in which you write is very detailed, but not so much that it seems too tedious. I really like how you depicted Liu versing Shang, and it deserves no less than 5/5

P.S. I am a little slow - what are those hints about Liu Kang coming back. Can you post, or if you dont want to ruin it for everyone, IM me. Thanks a lot. grin

Thanks guys, there's definately more on the way.

And matthewhaddad, by "hint" I suppose you mean of Liu coming back next-gen? If that's what you mean, then no, there's nothing in this ending suggesting that. The hint some people are talking about is concerning him coming back as a zombie on Deception. There'll be more on that soon if it's still too obscure.

Keep up the great feedback and posting your thoughts on this and all previous endings, guys! I'll definately read them all, and I appreciate all replies. Also, I'd like to remind everyone that I'm still noting the requests, and although I don't know when I'll get to them, they definately are being given though.

i would only change the last bit

Kung Lao: "The least I can do is allow you to rest in peace..."

He grips his razor-rimmed hat tightly, then forces himself to hurl it at Liu Kang. The hat's sharp rim slices the corpse's head clean off, and his horrid body falls onto its back, completely lifeless. its head decays at a rappid pace. soon it is only a skull with some hair grabing the skin that remained. As kung lao turns arould he hears a low grown. he looks to see the now headless corspe of his former friend rise. completely frozen if horror he can only look as the headless zombie takes the skull of liu kang and puts it on its neck. the camra now is focousing on the skull as it starts to regenerate to the body and grow flesh, skin and hair.

Kung Lao:No, this can't be true........no.

with a restored power the body of liu kang attacks the monk the human knew as his most trusted friend. kung lao tries to fight back, but the undead kang is stronger than it was. it assults kung lao with no thought or will of the monk he was. he beats kung lao to a bloody pulp, and takes the hat that the monk used to cut of its head. kung lao prepares for the fatal blow and closes his eyes. the zombie raises the razor sharp hat over the shoalin master and moves to drive it through the owners head. but as it moves, something grabs its arm. kung lao hears a fimilar voice one he had yet to hear since he was released from onagas enslavememt

??? ????:NO! I WILL NOT LET YOU KILL HIM EVEN IF YOU WE'RE ONCE
apart of me!
kung lao opens his eyes to see a sight he thought he would never live to behold. holding the body of the champion back is the spirit it once had. the spirit kicks kung lao's hat out of the hand of the corspe and stands between the zombie and his friend.

kung lao: liu?
spirit liu: kung lao, go i will hold my other self here, get to the top stop armageddon.
lung lao: what about......
spirit liu: it's to late for me, go you can win i beleve in your might.

kung lao runs up the stairs going to the pike of the titanic building. now the kangs are able to fight with no ally getting killed. the two rage in kombat exchanging blows with no end in view. as both fight in mortal kombat a new fighter comes to the place where they war against there other self. an old man, looking in a shocked way, covered in blood with a torn brown shirt and beard staned red. shujinko attacks the zombie to repay the spirit of liu kang for training him so he would be strong enough to kill the dragon king.
spirit liu:Shujinko you should be helping the warriors of light
Shujinko: in spite of the fact i killed onaga, i am still as courpted as i was when i found out i was tricked, i am an old man, and if i am about to die let it be i die aiding the champion of mortal kombat stop his undead body from murdering all that it sees.
spirit liu:so be it, we must stop from hurting anyone.
shujinko attacks but before he finishes the move a bolt of lightening comes down and hits the spirit and corspe. a flash of green light surrounds them. we can see liu kangs spirit being pushed back into the body as a dark evergy is removed. the flash starts to fade and where the zombie and spirit were, liu kang complete and restored now emerges from the glow. thunder is heared from the back and the seen gose to kang shujinko and lao running to the peik with the face of raiden in the attire of his deadly aliance look with dark blue eyes and the white skin of his dark self.
raiden: with liu kang whole once more he and his allies must get to the top before the power of blaze is given to a evil being. time is starting to run out. even with onaga and shand tsung killed shao kahn and quan chi still contue to reach for the power hat will make them invincible if they kill blaze. hurry my warriors, you have far to reach and little time to spare. the fate of earth...no the universe is in your cluches.

I wanted to do one of the cyborgs this time around, so I went for Smoke. His ending, however, also decides the fate of the Lin Kuei Grandmaster Sub-Zero, even though this is not the only ending where he appears. (Kind of what happened with Sonya). Enjoy...

____________________

~ SMOKE, (SUB-ZERO) ~

The scene begins with a close-up shot of Smoke's eyes, which are grayed out. As it closes in on the cyborg slightly more, his eyes gradually start to light up and glow red. The screen shifts to show us that Sub-Zero stands in front of him.

Sub-Zero: "Smoke... can you hear me?"

We hear an internal whirring noise coming from within Smoke, who stares straight ahead at Sub-Zero motionless.

Sub-Zero: "Do you recognize me?"

There is a long pause, the cyborg Smoke frozen in place, yet his eyes still gleaming. Sub-Zero sighs and opens up a small compartment on Smoke's shoulder, where a petite digital screen is located, and looks intently at it.

Sub-Zero: "I don't understand... I altered your programming perfectly, as I did the last time we met. Why won't you respond?"

Sub-Zero inches closer to the console and raises his hand towards it, intending to go about the entire process once again... but is interrupted instantly as four pitch-black ninja stars sink into his back. He groans in pain, staggers forward and reaches for the stars in an attempt to pull them off, but they all disappear as a black mist surrounds them. It is then that Sub-Zero hears a deep-toned voice being uttered few feet behind him.

Noob Saibot: "You've meddled with my machine for long enough!" (Sub-Zero turns around to see Noob apporaching menacingly). "It is time for it to resume serving me."

Sub-Zero: "He is not your servant!" (As Sub-Zero speaks, he gives Noob a curious look). "There's a human soul trapped inside that apparatus, and it shouldn't be manipulated by anyone!"

Noob Saibot ultimately ignores Sub-Zero's words and walks past him, making his way directly to Smoke. He then starts to make changes to his data through the open console on his shoulder. The low whirring noise that we could previously hear emitting from Smoke's body intensifies.

Noob Saibot: "I should have paid more attention to you when all this chaos started! But from now on, I'm making sure you never wander away from your master again!"

Sub-Zero: "I'm warning you to stop now!"

Noob continues to convert Smoke's programming as though Sub-Zero was not even present. Suddenly, his actions are cut short as Sub-Zero's fist clashes with his jaw. He is thrown backwards, performs a speedy backflip and recovers, falling on his feet. His ominously luminous eyes glare at Sub-Zero.

Noob Saibot: "I don't know why you are so preoccupied with this one cyborg, but that matters little to me. I will show no heistation in slaying you on the spot should you continue to interfere."

Sub-Zero: "Then I suggest you do just that, because I'm not allowing you to torture Smoke any longer!"

Noob Saibot shakes his head as though disappointed with Sub-Zero's decision. This is the last thing we see of him before he sinks into the ground, then rises back up again behind a mystified Sub-Zero. Noob grabs a hold of Sub-Zero's arms and leaps into the air with him, then forcefully strikes the Lin Kuei Grand Master on the back. Sub-Zero is sent sliding across the sandy ground below, but is quick to jump back onto his feet and charge at Noob Saibot, who casually waits for his opponent to attack. The two fighters collide, and the battle builds up.

Noob Saibot and Sub-Zero send punches and kicks flying towards each other at a fast pace. Neither of them manage to best the other, until Noob backs up to evade one of Sub-Zero's incoming punches, then retaliates with a roundhouse kick. Sub-Zero quickly ducks the speedy kick, then knocks Noob down with his Slide. He sends his Ice Freeze projectile at the fallen Noob, who once again sinks into the ground. The spot where he was instantly gets covered in ice. Noob reappears behind Sub-Zero once again, but does not succeed in surprising him this time. When he throws an uppercut towards him, Sub-Zero catches his arm and slams the wraith forcibly on the ground, immediately following up the attack by bringing his right leg crashing down towards Noob, who quickly rolls out of the way and stands back up when he's a safe distance from his opponent.

Noob Saibot: "Very impressive... I would have never expected you to have gotten so strong."

Sub-Zero gives his dark adversary a confused glance. He is about to demand a clarification from him, but Noob charges at him once more, forcing him back into action. Sub-Zero blocks the combination of punches that Noob throws at him, then attempts to overpower him with a hasty leg sweep. Noob leaps over his attack, lands a powerful kick to Sub-Zero's face with his right leg, then follows up with another hit from his left leg as he spins around. Sub-Zero falls on his back. Noob now leaps into the air once more and tries to land on Sub-Zero, who performs a back roll (just as the Netherrealm Spawn gets his feet onto the ground), then rises back up while striking Noob powerfully with both his legs. As before, the wraith is sent tumbling back down to the ground. Noob now remains motionless for a few moments, then Sub-Zero can hear a guttural laughter coming from him.

Noob Saibot: "I should have noticed you in my past journeys out of the Netherrealm! Maybe then I would be better prepared for our newest encounter!"

Sub-Zero: "You speak as if you know me from somewhere... who are you?"

Noob Saibot takes his time as he leisurely gets back onto his feet and mockingly wipes his shoulders before replying.

Noob Saibot: "I understand that I'm strongly unrecognizable to those who once knew me during my time among the living. After all, my transformation into what I am now has deprived me of all my human characteristics--"

Sub-Zero: "Answer my question!!"

Noob Saibot (chuckling): "I suppose there's no harm in revealing this to you..." (Noob takes a few steps towards Sub-Zero, who surprisingly enough, stands his ground). "I was the one who retrieved a powerful amulet for the sorcerer Quan Chi years ago... I was killed by the spectre of one of my victims... and banished to the Netherrealm ever since... does any of this ring a bell?"

Sub-Zero does not reply, and insteand, gapes at Noob Saibot in disbelief.

Noob Saibot: "I'm your... former brother, you imbecile."

We get a close-up shot of Sub-Zero's face, covered by an expression of strong disbelief. He stares at what has become of his brother wide-eyed, choking in his own words, unable to react to this revelation.

Noob Saibot: "You do realize this doesn't change a thing. Unfortunately for you, I am free of such meaningless sentiments as compassion... or mercy. You die here and now!"

Suddenly, a swirling black mist comes out from Noob Saibot's body, and slowly surrounds Sub-Zero. The Lin Kuei, still shocked, looks around and notices he is trapped by this strange vapor. He then watches as the mist surrounding him takes a number of human forms; before long, six identical clones of Noob encircle him. The screen suddenly shows us Smoke's right hand, which he slowly makes into a fist.

All Noob Saibots: "No more testing you out, 'brother'! Sadly, you've lived in my presence for too long!"

Sub-Zero is now powerless to defend himself as all seven "Noob Saibots" start disappearing and rematerializing over and over again in different spots, landing critical hits to the Lin Kuei as they do so. The screen zooms out, and all we can see surrounding Sub-Zero is a mess of shadows dashing at an incredible speed, while Sub-Zero himself suffers the consequences of countless hits. We now get a shot of Smoke's eyes once again. This time, the cyborg moves his head in Sub-Zero's direction. We then see the scene through his eyes; Smoke absorbs the data of the numerous "Noob Saibots", then pinpoints one of the clones, which lights up in his eyes. The screen moves back to show us Sub-Zero, who is still being attacked by the many wraiths. The assault abruptly comes to an end, however, when Smoke rushes to the scene and lands a dire uppercut to the original Noob Saibot. All of the clones disappear instantly as he crashes onto the ground. Sub-Zero looks up at Smoke, who returns his gaze. While Sub-Zero grins, however, Smoke's mechanical face remains expressionless. We hear another whirring noise as the cyborg turns to face Noob Saibot.

Noob Saibot: "How dare you strike me, you worthless hunk of metal! I'm your master! I brought you back to life!"

Smoke does not reply. Instead, he leaps into the air sends a flying kick towards Noob, who dodges the attack just in time to land a blow to Smoke's head. The cyborg quickly spins around and the two begin to fight. After a while, Noob Saibot manages to knock Smoke back with a punt kick, but suddenly feels himself covered in ice as Sub-Zero shoots his Ice Freeze projectile once more, this time hitting the target. Taking his chance, the cyborg returns to battle without wasting time, and finally nails Noob with three mighty kicks to the body and head. The wraith falls to the floor, weakened.

Sub-Zero: "I don't want to have to kill you off! Just disappear from here immediately!"

Noob Saibot: "Save your pathetic goodwill for the weak! I will have pleasure in slicing you into pieces!"

Smoke charges at Noob Saibot instantly upon hearing these words. Realizing he cannot win a fight against Smoke and Sub-Zero united, the wraith quickly gets up and flees the scene. Smoke starts to run after him, but Sub-Zero grabs a hold of his arm.

Sub-Zero: "He's given up, Smoke! Just let him go!"

Smoke: "No! I remember what he's capable of. He will return upon regaining his strength and set out to kill you! He must be sent back to the Netherrealm!"

Smoke frees himself of Sub-Zero's grasp and runs off into the distance.

We now see Sub-Zero near the pyramid, frantically searching for Smoke. He finally encounters the cyborg, who is dashing towards him, sparks flying from his metal chest. Sub-Zero rushes to aid his friend, but Noob Saibot materializes behind Smoke before he can reach him, and damanges his back with his Scythe, sending Smoke sliding across the floor.

Sub-Zero (shooting his Ice Freeze projectile at Noob once again): "Damn you!"

Noob is caught in the back by the projectile (just as he was spinning around and about to strike Sub-Zero with his Scythe as well), and freezes one last time. Sub-Zero takes out his Kori Blade, and has a clear shot at defeating Noob Saibot once and for all. He hesitates to finish him off, however.

Smoke (struggling to speak): "That spawn is not your brother, Sub-Zero! If you don't send him back to the Netherrealm now, he will return to take your life!"

We get a close-up shot of Sub-Zero's fretful face.

Smoke: "Do it NOW!"

Determinately shouting, Sub-Zero swipes his Kori Blade at the frozen Noob-Saibot, who breaks into icy pieces that scatter across the sandy, blood-stained earth. The screen zooms into the Lin Kuei Grandmaster's face... rigid as his eyes shift from the remains of Noob Saibot to his injured friend and ally few feet away from him...

PICTURE: On the picture, we see the cyborg Smoke lying down on a bed in a room in the OIA. We also see Sub-Zero looking down at him, as well as Jax and Cyrax in the far corner of the room, while Sonya operates the console in the compartment located in his shoulder and a strange device located just above Smoke prepares to send an electric blue ray towards his head. In the background, we see the face of a man with tanned skin and bright silver eyes, covered by metal parts.

------ Following the chaos of Sub-Zero and Smoke's latest battles, the Lin Kuei brought his newfound long-time friend to the Outerworld Investigation Agency Headquarters, in hopes that they could do for Smoke what they had done for Cyrax in the past. Following was an extremely risky procedure that had the potential of causing Smoke's programming to go haywire. To Sub-Zero's content and Smoke's profound relief, however, the OIA Agents were able to restore his humanity. After so many long, agonizing years of being trapped beneath metal parts and bending to the will of others, Smoke's true face opened its eyes to the world around him once again. Born was the newest addition to the reformed Lin Kuei and a self-procclaimed fighter for the realm of Earth.... -------
